Chapter 71 : What's a Huckleberry?

Adele ran after Theodore as he speed walked into the estate, slamming the car door after him " Theo, are you seriously mad at me "? Though his charcoal black hair had a grey tint to it, it did nothing to make him appear any older than he was.

He turned to her with angry olive green eyes and spoke in a serious tone, " Of course I am! What if something had happened to you "? She shrugged slightly as she smiled gently, " But I'm fine ".

He sighed, tapping his left foot rapidly, " You don't get it, do you? You can't keep doing everything on a whim, if you get hurt.... ". He suddenly stopped tapping his foot and turned his back from her [ Keep it together Theo ]

" I'm sorry. I-I just can't deal with this right now ". She suddenly hugged him from behind and looked up at him, " No, it's my fault. I shouldn't have made you worry ". He nodded, gaining his composure once more as he knocked her head lightly " Yeah, you shouldn't have ".

Rubbing her head, he walked away from her. With a slight pout as she chased after him " You're not even happy that I came back safe and sound "? He laughed as she caught up with him effortlessly, pulling on his coat.

Though her expression was a bit smug now, Theo knew she felt sorry for what she'd done. She cleared her throat lightly, looking away from him " Do you want to know what I've been up to "?

He chuckled lightly, holding out his hand to hers " Would it matter if I said no "? She shook her head, putting her hand in his " Not really.....But I'm only telling you this because you're curious about what I've been up to ". He glanced at her then nodded seriously, " You know me so well ".

George had decided he wanted to see his grandkids and Chase so he brought the Hiniko girl with him. She sat quietly in the corner as she looked out the window, " Are you nervous "? She suddenly turned to him and shook her head, hesitated then nodded " Just a little sir ".

He nodded [ Smart girl. It would be pointless to lie to me in the first place though ] " It's alright. I just want you to take care of him for me ". She nodded fervently, " Of course sir. Your wish is my command ".

" GEMS is a big school and on a Sunday no less, how do you suppose we find him "? She scrambled for her phone and began dialing, " I'm already on it sir ". Hiniko was a bit nervous. The last time she called it was a girl that answered, she had such an appealing and casual voice that it was hard not to be mesmerized by it.

She'd ended up panicking and ended the call almost immediately. Luckily, the voice she heard this time was deep yet oddly harmonic and she felt a heaviness lift off her [ I wouldn't even know where to begin if I heard her voice again ]

" Master Chase. This is Hiniko Amasi.... " She wanted to continue but he suddenly interrupted her, " You're the one always cleaning the pictures in the hallway, right "? She blushed slightly [ He remembers me?! ] " Yes. I would like to inform you that the patriarch and I are making our way towards your school and were ho..... ".

Again he cut her off, slightly irritating her in the process [ Was he always like this? He won't even let me finish my sentences ] " Let me stop you there. No, I don't know what dorm Quincy and Erica are in ".

She frowned slightly, already panicking " You misunderstand me. We're here to.... ". She sighed in defeat as she put the phone down, " See you. We're here to see you ".

George chuckled, rubbing the eagle shaped head of his cane " Just as temperamental as his father ". Hiniko bowed her head in apology, " I'm so sorry. Shall I try again "?

George shook his head, " Let it be. We'll make it a surprise ". She raised her hand, obviously confused " Then how do we find Master Chase if we don't know where he is ". George stroked his chin lightly then knocked his cane lightly, " I'll put a call through to Huckleberry ".

The sudden blue hologram startled her but she pursed her lips, stopping the very curious question about to come out of it [ What's a Huckleberry? ]
