Untitled Chapter

Cindy angrily threw her purse on the couch as soon as she walked in. "I can't believe this!" She shouted and strode to the drinking joint in the lounge to grab a bottle of wine. She continues, " the prodigal son finally comes back from his hideout with a bride! How is that possible?"

She glumped at the bottle of wine in her mouth without warning. Marcus sat on the couch peacefully with a lot of thoughts in his head. None of them had expected Lim to come to the party. They concluded that he would never make it, just the way he did in the past. But today? He did not only come to Old Walter's birthday party unexpectedly but also came in with an unknown woman! Who he claimed to be his soon bride.

"What bothers me, is who the hell is that girl Lim claims as his bride?" Marcus asked, hand on his jaw as he thought about getting a clue about the girl that showed up unwanted at Old Walter's birthday party. From what he had suspected, Old Walter was never bothered about the girl's background or who she was and what relationship she had with Lim. That left Marcus more suspicious about the girl, because he clearly knows that, unlike his father. Old Walter would always ask questions to find out about whoever his sons wanted to marry. That same thing he did to his wife and the rest of his brothers' wives. Why did Lim's case seem different, or is it because they are crowded with different people in the party? No, that still seems indifferent. Old Walter is a man who valued his family and respected them for moral roles. What happened to the strict man Old Walter had always been? There is something wrong somewhere. Old Walter must have known about the girl secretly because he knew Lim would never tell old Walter about the girl and knew they were still in a grudge. It would never be possible for those two to sit down in the same room and talk about a related matter.

Nick mentally rolled his eyes, he just didn't understand his father and mother's opinion of the girl. All he was more concerned about, was getting married before Lim! If he gets married to a girl from a good family background with good morals, that pleased old Walter, that would definitely put him in good sight with Old Walter. Maybe that might grant him the right to work for the Walters company. He thought, but what about this girl called Rosary? She is beautiful, stunning in shape and looks, and seems nice and innocent to hangout with. With the way Old Walter saw her, without questioning who she was or what she was doing, she must be a good wife material and good for him too. He smiled when he thought about it instead of listening to his mother and father's stupid conclusions about the girl.

"I suspect that too, dear. Old Walter and Lim must be hiding something about that girl. I swear that girl isn't just the way we see her to be", Cindy concluded before she sat on the couch beside Marcus.

"There must be something about that girl. Lim isn't that type of guy that hangs out with women or is even interested in marriage. I remember the thousands of times father has reminded him to get married but he always refused or gave deaf ears to his words. Why did he suddenly just pop out of nowhere with a woman? Isn't that suspicious?" Marcus asked. Cindy passed him the bottle of wine to sip from before dipping more into the issues.

"Who cares! Besides, the most important things you guys should be more concerned about? Is me getting married to impress Old Walter before Lim gets married!" Nick said, to get the attention of his parents on him. He had enough topics about Lim, Lim, Lim!!!

"Yeah that is true, we should focus on our son's marriage before Lim," Cindy said, and stood up from her couch to sit beside Nick in his spot. "I have found a good, stunning bride for you!" She said excitedly.

Nick smiled, since his mother had seen interest in his case, he believed she would know the girl he desired.

"I know you will definitely know what my heart knows. Now, tell me mother, who is this stunning lady you have found for me?" Nick asked, as his eyes sparkled in excitement. Having that girl beside him was all he could dream of , Rosary!

"The girl I have found for you is a girl who is what he wants!"

Nick scoffed, frustrated, while Marcus just stared at his wife and his son silently. He had already heard who the girl Cindy referred to was.

"Just get it done mum. You are wasting my time!" Nick shouted in frustration, not wanting his mother to shower her undying love on his dream woman, Rosary.

"She is Tiana Brent! The top model in the country!"

The smile that was wrapped on Nick's lips died on his lips. What did his mother just say? He was expecting to hear Rosary's name, the girl Lim, who walked into Old Walter's party a few hours ago. That's the girl he wants!

"Tiana who?" Nick confusedly asked,. " Yes, Tiana Brent. The girl that walks into the party looks stunning. Don't you want her?"

" Oh please mum" he stood up from the couch, " the woman I want is Rosary and not that dumb Tiana Brent or whatever her name is!" Nick snapped.

" What are you saying? You want the same woman Lim has? Do you see the way he was around her like an egg? That girl clearly belongs to Lim. You had better go to Tiana and stop your foolishness!"

" I have told you Mum, I need Rosary and no other one besides. I don't believe if he truly loved the girl as he claims beside, he was never into marriage and I believe he would never have thought of getting married to her! Rosary and no one else! " He shouted and walked out of the lounge.

"Did you see your son? He wanted to play with the devil? "

Marcus adjusted himself, and glued the bottle in his hand to his mouth. " You hear your son, he wants the same girl Lim wants. What do you want me to do? Just go and talk to him or whatever you think you can do"

Cindy was speechless and bewildered, she just didn't get it. What had happened to her son and her husband? Without much thought, she stood up and walked up the stairs to meet Nick.

"Stupid wife and foolish son, they are always blind to seeing things" he muttered, and dumped the bottle into his mouth again.

Then, the door bell rang, a maid quickly rushed to open the door. Marcus turned to the door to see the visitors that had come in this late at night. "Thomas and Brenton?" He said, surprised. He wasn't expecting to see any of them this late at night. He knew everyone must be curious to know what had just happened at the party but he wasn't expecting any visitors this late.

"You guys are here? I wasn't expecting you", he stood up to greet his brothers before leaving them to sit down.

"Of course, we have to visit what is happening at the party today. We have to make a plan as soon as possible", Thomas snapped.

" Yeah, this might mean a problem. If Lim eventually gets married, that means all our hopes are gone! He wasn't married, but his father has given him more than he deserves if he gets married. Then, I believe he would give him both our shares we have been managing!" Brenton concluded.

" I thought killing his useless mother would make life easier for us. I didn't know that would start the beginning of our problem. We have to attack as soon as possible so that Lim will never forget in his life" said Marcus.

" Oh, did you mean that same killing that made our mother die too? Please, let us come up with something better. What about the underworld assassin? They might be of help", Thomas concluded.

" Instead of being in a rush to send an assassin to the bastard. Why don't we just find out about the unknown girl? Who knows if she might be his weakness, since the devil hasn't shown any signs of weakness before? But what I saw at the party tells a different story. He seemed deeply in touch with that girl", Brenton said, when he seems his brothers were blind to see what was in front of them.

"Is that the reason you are acting so nice around the bastard son?" Thomas questioned Brenton. Instantly, Brenton rolled his eyes. Thomas never saw the bright side to everything. He was only being nice to Lim for his trust and nothing else! That was one of his tricks he was planning to do.

"You all should have known I am only nice for his trust. If Lim sees that I am nice to him and isn't on your side, he definitely trusts me and draws me closer to him! "

Thomas hissed, " that must be the dumbest plan I have ever heard in the history of wickedness."

" Alright guys, before we fight like babies. I need to make a call. We have to find out who this Rosary is and what relationship she shared with Lim" Marcus said, and dipped out his phone. " Hello, I have a job for you."
