Chapter Forty

Jason and I sank in the water as he held onto me. My knees were on his stomach and my hands on his chest. He kept his hands on my thighs, laughing as the sun began to disappear in the depths of the water.

"What's so funny?" I tilted my head as my eyes adjusted.

"I'm just remembering when we became friends and I found out you hated worms because I chased you with them." He snickered. "Now that you have learned your abilities, you can get me away."

"Lucky me." I smiled, seeing his eyes turn from emerald green to golden. My heart began to throb as I gazed at him. "I'm so happy that I have you forever." He pulled from under me, wrapping his arms around my waist and kissing me. It felt like electricity coursed through my body, attracting my body like we were magnets. Our bodies were so close that if we moved any closer, we could become one body. Having him so close and pressed up against me made my heart scream gleefully. His hand slid under my shirt, feeling the bare skin of my back. His touch made me want to moan. It was light and gentle as it shifted from my back to my side. I could feel myself breathe heavily as we kissed, causing Jason to smile.

"I forgot that you've never been touched in a loving way." He moved his lips slowly to my ear as he spoke. I bit my lip, feeling his breath against the skin.

"Y-yeah. I was a virgin until Agris...." I could make out his fingers entering the hem of my shorts along my back. The feeling of his fingers sliding across my skin tingled and when they moved, my skin felt warm. I placed a hand on his shirt above his heart while my other hand rested on his shoulder. His fingers glided around to the front, tugging at the button of my shorts. "Jay." My voice sounded more like a quiet moan even though I meant to sound calm. He looked into my eyes with an expression that asked if he has done something wrong. When I didn't say anything, he unzipped my shorts and reached down. My left leg moved up to his side as if it had a mind of its own. I bit my lip harder as he stroked me.

"Princess! Princess!" A squeaky voice yelled frantically. Jason pulled his hand away and I released him. I kept my back to the voice as I rebuttoned my shorts. "Princess! I have urgent news!" I recognized the voice so when I finished, I turned around.

"Lilah." I smiled through a blush. "What news do you have?"

"Prince Arlo of Atlantis has warships headed for land. He's going to start a war!" She panted.

"Warships?" My smile faded and the only thing that bubbled through me was concern. "He can't start a war with the land. That would be treason."

"Word got to him that you and Prince Jason died. He thinks he is heir to Atlantis' throne." She peered at me with her black eyes. I looked to Jason then swam to the surface. Jumping onto the boat caused it to rock and my uncle to grab the side.

"Why are you jumping up here like that?!" Uncle frowned at me as I grabbed my trident.

"I have to go. I love you and Auntie." I dove back into the water meeting Jason. We made our way for Atlantis and about halfway there, we saw huge ships that looked nothing like warships from land. These were smooth and like fictional jets with large glass windows in the front. There were Atlanteans on large beasts that looked like that came from the dinosaur age and some on sharks. They stopped moving in front of us. We became an invisible wall that drove them to stop. They could've easily gone around us, but they didn't. "Arlo!" My call sent rings through the water, amplifying it. A large beast that looked like a marine dinosaur -A Mosasaur- swam over with someone on it's back. A man in silver armor with white hair.

"You're alive!" He smirked. "It really is hard for you to die."

"You are committing treason if you advance onto the land, Arlo." I gripped the trident tightly.

"The land dwellers need to learn a lesson. You can't stop me. I've banded five of the seven armies together." He chuckled.

"I am still Ocean Master and carrier of Poseidon's Trident. All seven kingdoms answer to me." I crossed my arms. "On top of that, I can tell all these creatures here to turn against you." Arlo frowned.

"We are going to the Kingdom of the Brine to ask for their alliance." Arlo stated. "If they refuse, they will die. Grab them! They're coming with us!" Arlo left on the creature as a group of Atlanteans approached on sharks. Extending my free hand, I communicated with the sharks. They dumped their riders, turning to bite them. I blasted forward, stabbing the trident into the side of a large ship and dragging it from the front to the back. Parts began to explode and as I went to destroy another one, a sharp pain entered my neck. I gasped, feeling it. I pulled out something fuzzy then looked at it. A tranquillizer dart? There were tranquillizer darts in the ocean? I turned to see an Atlantean with a strange looking gun. I looked at their worried face confused and wondering why all of them were so willing to commit treason. I blinked slowly as my vision darkened. Before I completely passed out, I saw Jason being restrained. He must've let them because he saw me going down. The Atlantean with the gun caught me as I sank and that was the last thing I saw.
