"I am done. Let's go," Ayana said as she fixed her hair with her hand. She had to stuff everything in her bag forcefully. She didn't even bother to fold it nicely, making the bag bulge with more baggage with the addition of the wedding gown.
Rainy was dumbfounded when she looked at Ayana's carefree attitude. The image of Ayana walking down the alley in a white dress overlaps with the image of Ayana shamelessly taking off her clothes and stuffing the wedding dress inside her bag. The images in her head made Rainy feel like the one married to their general and the one in front of her was two different girls.
A normal woman might carry around a medium traveling suitcase in this kind of situation, but Ayana only carried a small bag that has nothing on it besides stuffed wrinkled clothes.
As she remembered their small talk some minutes earlier, something passed Rainy's mind. it was definitely something wicked since her eyes were shining with mischievousness.
This girl is too ignorant. She doesn't care about anything around her at all. This would be fun, Rainy thought as she smiled sweetly while looking at Ayana
"Did you really have everything you need there?" Rainy asked calmly as she approached Ayana.
"Hmmm," Ayana answered with a hum. Her tone clearly shows that she is totally sure about everything.
Rainy did not expect that Ayana would answer her question confidently. She asked that question to shake her a bit, but she was clearly not shaken by that which made Rainy become even more curious.
"You look so calm and so relaxed. Could it be that you're not aware of the situation you're in right now?" Rainy started again.
Ayana's carefree and nonchalant attitude seems like a challenge to her. She was the one who got flustered at the girl's behavior and words which annoyed her.
Ayana just looked at the girl calmly, but Rainy could feel some confusion in her eyes.
"Ahh... Right, you just moved from Zone B, so you probably don't know what kind of husband you just married a while ago." Rainy talked in an understanding manner.
Ayana didn't say anything as she only looked at Rainy with an unreadable expression.
"Because I am a good person, I will advise you on some important things. You must take a note, or you won't even realize how you die the second you make a mistake," Rainy continue to talk as her hand rested in Ayana's shoulder
"The most important point is, never irritate our general. He gets angry easily, and when he is angry, he will be very ruthless. So, you need to stay far away from him since he hates humans. Don't try to act suspicious or have any idea to approach him because that might be the last day you will be found alive." Rainy said those words confidently, although it didn't last long.
A frown appeared on Rainy's face when she looked at Ayana's expressionless face.
"That's it?" Ayana asked after a short pause.
"Of course not. There are more," Rainy quicky answer
The girl did not even flinch when she heard her words. Rainy would think that she lost her hearing or she would completely ignore her if she did not notice the small nod that indicated that she heard her.
That is not the reaction she wanted to see in the girl's face.
She wanted the girl to look pale with an uneasy emotion or maybe fidget a little, but there is nothing. Nada. The girl was completely unfazed after hearing what she said about their general.
The girl seems like she was listening to a bedtime story, not a warning about her new husband.
There was something wrong with this girl's brain. wait, don't tell me she was crazy after living in Zone B for a decade. i
"How old are you?" Rainy started to get curious. The girl in front of her looks too young.
"Nineteen," Ayana answered briefly while looking at Rainy with a pair of calm eyes.
"You are so young. You are still a baby," Rainy curiosity grew as she approached Ayana. She stared at Ayana's face with great interest as she was looking at something antics.
Rainy wanted to know how this girl's brain works as she raises her hand, wanting to smoothen Ayana's untidy hair.
"People are waiting for you, Miss. Ayana." Enoch's stern voice made Rainy's heart almost leap from her mouth.
Rainy turned around in a jerk and saw Enoch was looking at her with skepticism in his eyes.
It seems like he was coming in just when Rainy said her last sentence and raised her hand to fix the girl's hair. The man feels like the situation was odd and quickly makes Rainy aware of his presence.
"I just want to fix her hair," Rainy tried to explain herself but was ignored. Enoch eyes that full of judgment and annoyance only rested in her for a bit before every emotion went away as her eyes moved to Ayana.
The man bowed down a little, approached Ayana, and took the small bag beside the girl's leg.
"Is this all your belongings, miss?"
"Hmm, please be careful with that. I put my laptop inside."
"Okay, miss, please follow me," Enoch said as he started to step out of the room, followed by Ayana.
Rainy, who just awoke from her panic state, ran after Enoch and walked beside the man. Enoch has given the bag to one of the guards who followed them from behind.
"You really surprised me," Rainy whispered in a low voice.
"You are the one who surprised me. You get caught just when you are going to kiss her. You never told me that you are also interested in a same-sex romance. Although I must warn you that you are doing something dangerous back then." Enoch whispered, looking at the woman beside her with a suspicious expression.
"What! How could you say that? I just wanted to look at her face closely! I swear! I have no intention to approach her romantically." Rainy felt like crying about this situation.
She never imagined that there would be a day where she needed to desperately explain her sexual preferences to her best friend.
"Lower your voice, my god! Why did you need to look at her face closely? Didn't you also say that our new missy was young and interesting? Did you forget what I told you yesterday about maintaining some distance from the general's wife? you would get in trouble if anyone else saw both of you in that position," Enoch whispered as he looked at Rainy, still with a suspicious gaze.
"She is indeed young and interesting, but I am not commenting on it sexually or romantically. It is just a general opinion, I was giving her some advice about our leader, and she seems confused about that," Rainy whispered in a begging tone.
Enoch looked at Rainy from the corner of her eyes then sighed loudly, "what you said about the young part is understandable, but what about the interesting part? Please don't let others hear you say that. Your position was not that great since you took the position as the white colonel. They might create bad rumors and really drag you down. if something happened to our general's wife, they might take the opportunity to ruin your reputation and say things like someone saw you seduce or provoke the general's wife," Enoch explained still with a disbelieving expression.
"I think almost everyone knows I like Jun from your group, right? no one would believe such a rumor," Rainy said as she started to get angry.
"I trusted you, but some people would believe that rumor and attack you. So please, don't get too close to Miss Ayana, making intimate gestures, or saying that she was young and interesting." Enoch whispered in a calm tone, ending their conversation.
Rainy was speechless and could only frown as they walked to the meeting point.
Ayana calmly looked at the two people who were conversing in front of her. In fact, she was not surprised at all at Enoch's sudden appearance. Her standing position, which was facing the door, made her notice Enoch's presence even before the man talked.
