EVE'S ARRIVAL

There was one week for Christmas and the whole family (especially the children) were quite excited about it. They were busy with the preparations and the cleaning of the house.

'Hurry up Fay, Eve will be here soon, you don't want your friend to think that you aren't good enough to even welcome her properly, do you'. Said her mother.

Fay frowned and quickened her speed. After she was done and was washing her hands, her mom yelled, 'Fay! Fay! , here's a list, get all these items from the super market!' Fay groaned and yelled back, 'ok!' She took the bag and list and left.

At home it was 2:30 in the afternoon and the weather was quite cloudy. Someone rang the bell. 'Look who it is dear.' Said mother from the kitchen.

Eveleigh went and opened the door. Someone jumped on her and gave her a tight hug. 'Frank!' She said excitedly. Eve came in grinning.

'Hey Eveleigh, where is Fay?' Eve said looking around the room. 'Oh, she's gone to get some groceries.' Eveleigh replied.

After about 15 minutes Fay rang the bell. 'Oh, you're here early.' Fay said looking surprised. 'Yeah, now come in its going to snow soon'.

At dinner Father suddenly said, 'Children we have something to tell you all'. Mother looked at them and continued 'So….today we got a phone call from your granny and turns out she is really sick'. 'And as you all know she is all alone, that's why we will have to go there to take care of her'. She ended. 'You can't just leave us like that and besides you cannot expect me to take care of these 2-'.

'Quite!' said her father interrupting her. 'You will do as I say and that's why we will be taking them with us. Their parents have been spoken to.' 'So, when will we be leaving?' Asked Eveleigh changing the topic, seeing her sister sulking.

'The day after tomorrow'. Said mother.
