The chased (1)

As you probably understood, the chased couple are the parents of our protagonist.

On the shoulders of the mother, a stunning woman with a black translucent body dressed with a white summer dress, there's a very bloated backpack, and in that very backpack lies a large white egg with black spots.

Wait… now it's black with white spots… aaaand now it's white again. Ok, so this egg is switching between two patterns but that's not what's important, the really strange and creepy thing is that you can see the shadow of a being in there, and that thing is constantly switching shapes, ranging from animals to more humanoid forms and even simple geometrical forms, almost as if it was choosing the best form to challenge the world.

In addition to all that, the egg continuously gives off an aura full of divinity, even stronger than some middle gods, as if even before birth the little creature is gathering the power of faith.

<UNACCEPTABLE!!>

Shouted the beautiful woman, her previous charm nowhere to be seen.

<COME BACK HERE YOU WHORE AND ACCEPT YOUR PUNISHMENT!!!>

<Shadows say something to her too>

But the bandaged silhouette kept his mouth shut, limiting himself to nodding at the lizardman.

<My master does not wish to meddle in your business, he only desire the egg and to take back his soon-to-be-promoted slave>

The slave they were talking about is the father of the not-so-little egg, a creature white in all his features, be it the eyes the skin or the hair, dressed in an all-black business suit and a white shirt, with a featureless oval mask hanging on its belt.

<And that is why your master lacks allies and messengers, he doesn't even have friends>

That comment infuriated the lizardman who was about to say something, but Shadows raised a hand to stop him and spoke in a raspy and cavernous voice that seemed straight from the underworld.

<As Ambush said before, I do not care about the enmity between you and Information, I only want what we agreed upon>

<Fine, suit yourself. But it seems obvious that you do not know the joy of shutting somebody's voice forever hehehe>

While chatting "amiably" they didn't notice that they lost track of the fleeing couple in the thick of the woods.

<How dumb can you two be to lose somebody that was running ahead of you!!>

<We're sorry madam Secrecy, but we got distracted with yours and Lord Shadow conversation>

Replied the two ugly little creatures almost at the same time.

<HOHOOOO, pretty bold of you to blame me for your mistake…>

<That was absolutely not our intention madam!>

Quickly replied Bribery with a panicked voice.

<Th-that's right madam, we wouldn't dare>

Followed up Assassination

<I know I know, but I still need to punish you. If not, who knows what voices would start spreading throughout God's domain, and you know I despise rumors. Soooo, how about you give me 20% of your power of faith for the next 100 years>

<Well, that's a bit…>

Said Bribery

<A bit what mmmhh? Would you like to add something?>

Replied Assassination

<As I thought>

<Are you done with your little comedy?> asked Shadows <Because we're losing the happy little couple again>

<You heard him Assassination? Follow them and try to slow them as much as possible>

<Yes madam>

<-Dust rush-> said that Assassination's speed increased drastically and he reached the two figures a few moments later thinking that he got them.

Succeeding in his purpose of killing the figure with the backpack he picked it up, to his surprise it is full of rocks and the one he just killed turned into a mask, the same mask that Disguise had on his belt.

Angry that it got fooled by Disguise, Assassination started attacking him, this resulted in getting distracted and not being able to pursue Information and her backpack who were getting farther and farther.

Some time later the others arrived and discovered Assassination still fighting with Disguise, the both of them equally matched, but alas, after two mid-gods joined the fray there's little that Disguise can do.

<Surrender Disguise! You are cornered!> Said Ambush

<Well, not if I do this!> After saying that he started glowing more and more.

<YOU'RE CRAZY! You Know that even by destroying your body and mind you can't kill us mid-gods> shouted Secrecy

But she couldn't continue as the brightness grew more, she and Shadows needed to deploy a barrier also for the other low-gods.

After the dust cloud caused by the explosion settled down the first thing that came to the eye are the tattered bodies of the three low-gods laying on the ground, still alive thanks to their masters' protection. Only Shadows and Secrecy were in a condition to continue the pursuit, and so they did…
