"Come out." When Lu Chen said this, Gao Jinhai came out from one of the brushes. He quickly asks him,

"Young master Lu, did I do good with my acting?" Lu Chen nods," Yeah, you did ok."

Even though it was just one sentence, it was more than enough to make Gao Jinhai fell over the moon.

The whole situation between Gao Jinhai and Long Shen was nothing more than a plan Lu Chen devised to deal with Long Shen.

That day when Gao Jinhai was begging his life, the demand Lu Chen said was,

"Become friends with Long Shen. I want you to get as close to him as possible. Gain his trust, then I will tell you what else to do later."

Gao Jinhai immediately jumped onto it. If he had to choose between Long Shen and Lu Chen, Lu Chen is the obvious choice. The benefits are so much more.
