Nancy’s POV
5 o’clock on the dot, Ronnie messages me to tell me he’s outside. I look in the mirror one last time to check myself. Thankfully, my old homecoming dress still fits.
It’s a mid-thigh gray dress with a thin layer of silver lace on it. I paired it with the same shoes I originally wore with it, sparkly silver strappy high heels. My hair is down, but straightened, and my makeup is a simple smokey eye with glossy lips.
I lock our door on the way out and see Ronnie once again leaning against his shiny car.
“You look breathtaking,” he says, pulling me into his arms.
“Oh jeez, that’s a much better reaction than my last date who saw this outfit,” I joke.
He lifts an eyebrow at me in questioning and I can’t help but laugh.
“This is an old homecoming dress from my high school days,” I elaborate.
“Well, whatever schmuck didn’t appreciate you back then must be leading a very lonely life today.” Ronnie smiles down at me before placing a chaste kiss on my lips.
