Ronnie’s POV
Without knocking, I enter my parent’s house and head toward the kitchen. My mother is making her favorite Caesar salad when I come up behind and hug her.
“Oh! I didn’t even hear you come in!” She turns around and hugs me back.
“Well, you have a big house. It’s no surprise.” I kiss her on the cheek before pulling away.
“Do you need help with anything?” I go over to the sink and wash my hands; I already know she’ll have something that needs to be done.
“Can you cut the ham for me? I always struggle with it and your father’s on the phone at the moment.” Mother goes back to making the salad.
I pull out the knife I need and start slicing the ham. With how wealthy my family is, they can afford employees to do the cleaning and cooking, but my parents weren’t always wealthy. They struggled a lot financially when they first got together, and my mother always said taking care of her home was her job.
