Welcome to tomorrow.
To start off with, let's have another joke, shall we? So, there was this sheep, okay? That sheep was really problematic, and nobody knew what to do with it. It was still small, so it couldn't be killed, the wool was bad. To make matters worse, the sheep kept eating, eating much more than what the other sheep ate.
So one day, someone approached the farmer with a solution, "Why not we sell the sheep to another farmer?"
And the farmer goes: "Well, how are we supposed to sell something this bad?"
"It's easy" The guy explained to the farmer. "All we got to do is say it's 'special'. We wouldn't be lying. How bout it? You give me ten per cent of the deal, eh?"
"Right…"
So they sold the sheep to the farmer in the next town over. That farmer found out the problem with the sheep and didn't want it either. So the same guy approaches that farmer with the same deal and got the farmer to sell it to another. Now, this went on for some time, with the guy suggesting the same thing to every farmer and getting money out of it.
Now, eventually, he stopped being capable of doing this. Why?
Trust me, I'm working on these jokes, I'll get them down eventually. In the meantime, I'll get my day started.
Let me just say, waking up on a weekday knowing I don't have to go to school while everyone has to? Feels great. It's kinda like the first day of Christmas. Whatever, just know that I'm feeling great.
Still woke up looking like a zombie though, as I always do. While doing my daily routine of staring at myself in the mirror, I contemplated whether or not to wear my contact lenses. I'll be going out today, that's for sure, but should I?
Glasses should be fine.
I finished showering, brushing my teeth and whatnot and left my room. As expected, no one's around. I woke up slightly later than usual, so my parents and Fable had already left the house. Sitting down on the couch, I slung one leg over the other. I wore casual clothes, not exactly sure what to wear anyways.
Always wondered why so many people seemed so obsessed with fashion. I mean, I understand wanting to look good, but putting on an inch of makeup and wearing all those weird things makes them look downright horrendous. Besides, I wouldn't have a problem if they didn't always look down on people who don't put on makeup or decide to put a little less effort into their dress.
"Oho, look at those peasants, why don't you go put on something a little nicer dear? Maybe some light makeup? You simply look tragic," I mimicked a posh accent. "Don't mind how I look like a dog in a Fashion Gala."
I felt my phone buzz. Right, my phone, I haven't exactly gotten used to checking it often, so I end up missing quite a few texts and calls. Never understood people who stare at these things all day.
The text was from my Mom, but it reminded me of something else. First off, my Mom texted me 'Breakfast's in the fridge.' I sent a quick text back before focusing on my main objective for today.
You remember Catherine, right? We're kinda like pals now, I guess? Ever since we hung out at that arcade and had a meal together… It felt like a date. Maybe I'll make a joke out of it later, maybe it'll be fun.
Hold on, I just had a really disturbing realisation. Most of the women in my life have names starting with the letter 'C'... You know, like Catherine, Chloe and Candace. I swear, if I meet another person with a name starting with 'C', I will ask them the eternal question.
Anyways, I sent dear Catherine a text last night, and after a few misunderstandings, it seems we have the same idea now.
Today, I'm heading over to Catherine's University to have a look around. Even better, she wanted to… pick me up… Oh no.
I got changed as quickly as I could and snatched my bag up. I ran down the hallway, not forgetting to lock the door beforehand, and smashed the button of the elevator. When the elevator doors opened, I stepped inside, another man was already inside.
We just silently stood there while I waited for the elevator to reach the ground floor. After it opened, I rushed out of the main building of the apartment complex, seeing a familiar figure leaning against a car. Catherine looked up and noticed me.
"About time you showed up," She said.
"I completely misjudged the time," I gave my excuse. "Besides, I'm only half an hour late, no biggy, right?"
"You're lucky I don't have any Lectures until nine," Catherine told me, getting into the car. "Hop on, I don't want to miss my first Lecture of the day."
I got into the car. Shotgun.
While tapping my knee, I asked Catherine, "Sorry for the misunderstanding last night. I didn't phrase my intentions clearly enough."
"Yeah," She nodded, concentrating on the road. "Misunderstandings will happen when you text someone 'Hey, I'm gonna invade your place.'"
"In my defence," I put my hands up. "It made perfect sense in my head… and I also thought it would be funny."
"Do you have any idea how freaked I was?" Catherine continued to complain. "I thought you were going to show up at my front door in the middle of the night!"
"But I managed to clear things up, right?"
Catherine shrugged and stopped the car. It was a red light, so she had some time to rest. She continued talking, "You could have just told me you wanted to visit the University. It would have saved the both of us so much time."
"But I like wasting time," I replied, sitting deeper into the seat, my arms crossed.
"Every time I meet you, I just keep thinking you get weirder and weirder."
I laughed. The car got started again.
"You know how it is. You can't get anyone to notice you unless you're weird," I shrugged, staring straight ahead. "It's kinda like how you can be remembered for either doing something good or something really bad. Which would you pick?"
"Obviously something good," Catherine answered. "Finding the cure to cancer would be rad."
"Rad?" I laughed.
Catherine's face grew slightly redder. She cleared her throat and pushed my head away. "I'm driving, let me focus. Unless you want to die too."
"I wouldn't mind dying with you, kinda romantic, really," I joked around with her.
"Huh?"
"I mean, we went on a date and all, so that was romantic."
Catherine let out an audible sigh. "At this point, I don't even know whether or not you're just fucking with me. Sure, think of it as whatever."
A few minutes passed and we were at the University. I believe it's called West University? Lazy naming… gotta be a great school. Catherine got out of the car before she gave me a look. "Right, yeah. It just struck me…"
She pointed at me, so I did the peace sign.
"Aren't you supposed to be in school?" Catherine continued her question. "Like, in school kind of in school? Not my University."
"Oh, that," I scoffed. "I got suspended."
"What did you do?" Catherine continued shooting questions as we made our way toward the main building of the University.
"I allegedly slapped a girl," I said. "Then I confessed to the situation and called her a bunch of names."
"Oh, dealing with a bully, huh?" Catherine responded. "Yeah, been in those situations before."
"You were bullied?"
Catherine looked around before saying softly, "Uh… no… I was… You know, young people, right? I used to bully quite a few people."
"So you were the bully?" I laughed. "That makes a lot of sense."
"I was going through some issues, okay?" Catherine grumbled. "The company I had around me at the time wasn't good."
"Company?" I asked before realising what she actually meant. "Oh, company, like the people you were hanging out with. Yeah, the language is weird, ain't it?"
Catherine rolled her eyes.
We walked by several places, most of those places I only managed to glance at though. I think I saw a game room, a library, and a whole sports facility. Seems pretty cool to me… Hold on, is that a golf cart?
"Someone's driving a golf cart?" I pointed at it.
There were a couple of people in it, chatting as it went at a relatively slow pace for a vehicle. Catherine nodded, telling me, "Yeah, it's something they have in the school. Since the compound's pretty big, if you get permission, you can use the golf cart. You can only drive in specific lanes though."
"Seems fun," I commented. "And hilarious."
We climbed a couple of flights of stairs. Catherine offered, "You wanna join in on the Lecture? If you don't want to listen, you can do your own stuff."
"I'm allowed to just walk in?"
"Yeah, I think."
"Speaking of, I managed to enter the University without much of a problem either," I crossed my arms. "Seems like a real safety hazard if you ask me."
"No one cares. Now, do you want to join me?"
"Sure, why not?"
I entered the Lecture Hall with Catherine. Surprisingly, I was not getting as many looks, maybe cause people also dye their hair at University? Whatever it was, I'm not getting as much attention as I thought I would get.
We sat down.
The Lecture Hall could easily fit hundreds of people, and it was chilly as well. The place was massive, and it felt professional too. We were seated at the back, Catherine already taking out a notebook. At the front, some people were getting ready to start the Lecture, testing the audio and whatnot.
More people streamed in as time passed.
Fast-forward, fast-forward.
We left the Lecture Hall together, a bunch of older people around us. I tried to see if there was anyone I recognised, but unsurprisingly, I knew no one. I wish I did, it would have been far more interesting to just go 'Hey! You're that person I met that time!'.
"Hey! You're that person I met that time!" Someone exclaimed when we were more isolated from the crowd.
Well, speak of the Devil.
The person who had just called out to us was a well-dressed man with a slick sense of style. He approached us, Catherine raising her eyebrow. I shrugged, whispering, "What can I say? I'm famous."
He stopped in front of me, saying, "I remember you. Well, mostly the hair."
He gestured to his own hair, which was nothing fancy. He cleared his throat and continued, "Right, was just wondering what you're doing here. I don't recall you ever attending this University."
"I don't go to University, I'm just visiting," I replied.
Catherine stepped in, asking, "Sorry, how do you two know each other?"
"Right, you're name is…?" The man put his hands together and gestured towards Catherine.
"Catherine."
"Right, Catherine," He nodded. "I've only seen her once in the elevator, and I struck up a conversation. I managed to recognise your friend because of her hair colour."
"Okay…" Catherine muttered. "You guys struck up a conversation in an elevator?"
"Yeah," We both said at the same time.
I shrugged, continuing, "Well, I mean, he was the one who decided to talk. So by all accounts, he's the weirdo."
"I don't feel comfortable in silence," The man laughed lightly. "It's a condition I have, no worries."
"So how was your wedding?" I asked him.
"The wedding's scheduled on the 9th," He replied. "I've talked things through with my wife-to-be, and she agreed it's the best time to get married."
"Nice."
He glanced behind him before saying, "See you two around, I guess? Sorry, but I got some work to attend to at the moment."
"No probs. Bye."
After he left, I faced Catherine, telling her, "Not attracted to him at all, but he had a really good fashion sense."
She sighed, shaking her head as she continued walking. Catherine massaged her neck, saying to me, "Can't believe you befriended a teacher in the school."
"I'm a magnet," I joked.
"Yeah, you're so popular that you found a way to get suspended from school," Catherine scoffed. "I used to get suspended too, but it was cause I was bullying, not the one getting beaten up."
I shrugged. "To be fair, the disciplinary sector of my school absolutely sucks ass. I could just not attend lessons and the only thing they'll do is tell me to take supplementary which, by the way, I am currently also suspended from."
"Harsh."
"Made sense, this isn't the first time I've 'assaulted' someone," I said, using my fingers to reenact the air quotes. "The way they determine bullying is really just a popularity contest. It's like a beauty pageant."
"Sounds tough," Catherine commented.
"Enough about my school life, tell me about yours," I got the ball rolling. "You seem so constantly sleep-deprived, what do you do daily?"
"I got Lectures and some Discussion Groups until seven in the evening. I'll probably go home, eat something and then leave for my part-time tutoring job from 9 to 11. Afterwards, I return home to revise until 3 am. I'll sleep from three to six, wake up and go to school again."
There was a moment of silence as I tried to process her schedule.
I love my sleep, well… maybe not as much recently, but I do like sleep. I cannot comprehend trying to go about a day with only 3 hours of sleep. University students got it hard.
"And you work on weekends as well?" I added more questions.
"Yeah," Catherine nodded. "My school fees are subsidised because I don't have a proper job nor do I have a guardian. I have to earn enough money to pay the bills and eat. Luckily, the tutoring job I do pays quite well."
"How much?"
"55 an hour," She told me.
We stopped at one of the cafeterias in the school. Yeah, you read that correctly. 'One of' apparently three cafeterias. Neat. Would like that in my school. Please, let me have that in my school.
We ate. Not sure how else to describe it. We ate food that's edible and therefore it is consumable nutrition in the form of wraps. The wraps are good, ten out of ten would try again. Catherine disagrees though. Said something about there being too little meat. Don't listen to her, she's just privileged.
After we were done, I sort of just sat around while Catherine looked through some of her notes. Eventually, she asked me, "So what? Are you planning to just follow me the whole day? Do you have somewhere to be?"
"I do, but that can be saved for later," I answered. "Instead, I was hoping to just look around and maybe go to the library to chill."
"How are you gonna get home?" Catherine asked me.
"I don't know, stand by the side of the road and hope a cab passes by," I shrugged.
"Don't enter any car that doesn't have the taxi sign," Catherine warned me. "Who knows what kind of creep could be driving."
"Makes sense."
"I'm being serious, don't get into any danger, okay?"
I waved her off, laughing lightly. "Don't worry about me, I'll stay safe. Besides, you're starting to sound like my Mom."
Catherine smiled momentarily. She looked back at her notes, as stone-faced as ever. I put an elbow on the table, resting my chin on my palm. I asked her, "Don't you ever smile?"
"I do."
"Not often though."
Catherine raised an eyebrow, facing me. "Which reminds me that I've never seen you without a smile."
"Oh, technicalities."
"I don't understand how you can keep your smile on for as long as you do," Catherine grumbled. "Like, don't you get tired?"
"I sleep more than three hours a day," I stated.
"Yeah, but you're young," Catherine pointed at me, giving me a look that said 'Duh'. "You sleep less as you grow older. While you're still growing, you better get more than seven hours of sleep."
"Got it, got it," I laughed.
Catherine checked her phone, telling me, "I got a Discussion Group soon, so I gotta go. You can just walk around if you want."
"Sure," I nodded. "I'll text you if I'm leaving."
"Yeah, do that."
She stood up, so I waved her off.
Now begins my solo journey across the school. If anybody approaches me, I'll have to pull out my secret weapon. Nothing to worry about, it isn't anything dangerous, I promise. So let's get down to business, shall we?
The University's a big place, it'll take me some time to look at everything, so I'll probably just find my way to the library and study a little. Yes, even a genius like myself has to study. If I were to end up at this University, I wouldn't mind at all. I could probably hang out with Catherine, and we'll be besties.
Luckily for me, at this place, no one cares about my hair. That's great, I've been getting sick of people asking me why my hair's green. Like, isn't the answer obvious? Who in the world would have natural green hair?
As I walked, I saw some places. Most notably, the fountain in the middle of a garden. It's quite nice, with the water forming mist around the bottom of the fountain. It was a pretty design, and I can't be bothered to explain all the small details of such an intricate fountain. I just kinda walked closer to it.
My glasses got cloudy from the mist, so I took them off. With my vision now blurry, I stepped away, wiping the lenses with my shirt. How troublesome, I just wanted to look at a fountain. Looking around, I could tell people were trying to avoid me. They only quickly glanced at me before going about their day. Not a single person stopped and tried to talk to me.
Wait a minute…
They aren't ignoring me~
They're just treating me like a normal person! Hold on, this is a lot more amazing than I had ever imagined. Kinda like how I can now blend into a crowd, maybe no one will notice if I stopped smiling.
No no, keep smiling.
"Do you hear the people sing?" I sang softly to myself as I walked away from the fountain, hands behind my back and a hop in my step. "Singing a song of angry men."
I stopped in front of the library, only slightly creeping out the people around me. "It's the music of a people who will not be slaves again."
With that done, I stepped in, bowing slightly to the librarian, who returned a forced smile. I chuckled to myself because of that reaction as I searched for a seat… Holy… is that a staircase? You're telling me the library here has multiple floors?
My poor brain couldn't help but rush up the stairs to see what was on the top floor. Same sight as the first, people studying at tables, shelves of books arranged and untouched. Lame, boring, please do something with your lives.
I headed towards an empty table and got my stuff out. Studies sure are important, huh? Adults are all like 'Oh, you got to study real hard when you're younger or else you'll regret it!' and kids are all like 'Nu-uh, you're lame, I'm cool. I'll do whatever I want to do cause I have the freedom to choose my own path without the influence of an external force'. The irony, innit? Then those kids will grow up and be like 'Oh, you gotta study for the future' to their own kids, who will probably be like 'No, I want to be an independent person capable of making their own decisions in life without the external influence of you, my legal guardian. You can't tell me what to do!' to them. Rinse and repeat, then you got the formula of the modern world.
Can't say I hate it. It's funny, actually.
Well, whatever, none of my business what other kids do. Most people in my grade are already 18, they can do whatever they want. Hell, I'm pretty sure Candace has already gone over and slept with some of the guys. None of my business, she can do anything her heart desires…
Until it becomes my problem.
Tuesday, ain't it an amazing day to be alive? I mean, I don't have to go to school, and I'm chilling in a University library with all these mature people. Way better than that dumpster fire of a school I go to.
And I still haven't gotten my dang ice cream yet.
Knowing myself, I probably won't end up getting it today, tomorrow, or the day after. Actually, I'll have to walk by an ice cream shop that is basically screaming at me before I remember to get ice cream. I know, I have an amazing memory.
Studying… right…
Chemistry. Right, so the electronegativity of Flourine is… hold on, haven't I learnt this before? Pretty sure this was covered in an earlier chapter. I flipped my textbook over and Danggit I brought my sophomore textbook.
I'm in my senior year! I've outgrown that shit.
After flipping through the rest of my study material, I sat back in my seat, crossing my arms. Well, that was awkward. I'm over here trying to study for my Finals, but here I am with study material from a year ago.
I could, theoretically, study what I've brought, but at this point, I've lost all my initial motivation to do anything. So hey, I'm gonna just try to figure out the reason for this mixup. Call me a Detective, 'cause I'm gonna solve this problem.
You see, my room's off-limits to anyone in the house. Mom and dad were unlikely to step into my room for any reason. Fable too, would probably not be bothered with trying to enter my room. That leaves only one reasonable explanation! Aliens! Nah, just kidding. I probably grabbed the wrong stuff when rushing out of my home earlier today.
Swinging my legs around with nothing to do, I left the library soon after.
With nothing else to do, I sent a quick text to Catherine before leaving the University. I really love it here, seriously.
Outside, I stood by the side of the road until I saw a car with a taxi sign on top of it. It stopped in front of me, the driver pulling down the window of the car. He asked me, "Where to?"
"Kaster's," I replied. "Is that alright?"
He gave a thumbs-up, so I hopped into the backseat. Not long after the car got moving, the driver asked me, "Are you a student at West?"
"No, just visiting," I replied.
"Right…" The driver nodded, focusing on the road. "So like, are you doing one of those cosplay things? My children have been talking a lot about cosplaying, but I haven't a clue on what it is."
"I don't do cosplay," I replied. "I do some acting though, that's close enough, I guess?"
The rest of the journey to Kaster's was rather dull and lifeless. Nothing really happened other than me sitting in a car and staring out the window. I paid the driver and got off, stepping ahead to meet with police officers. Again.
"G'day," I greeted with a smile.
"Hello," The same female police officer I met yesterday greeted back. "Lovely to meet you. We've done some investigations on the origins of Chloe, are you alright with us telling you here? Or would you prefer to go to a more comfortable spot?"
"No, here's fine," I told her. "I was planning to visit Chloe about now anyway."
"The White Family had been reported missing as of Sunday," The female police officer explained to me. "As of late last night, it was discovered that the parents of the White Family. Chloe's mother and her ex-husband have committed double suicide in their own home. We have attempted to contact the extended family of Chloe, but none of them was interested in adopting her."
"So her parents kicked the bucket," I nodded along with the story. "You haven't told Chloe, have you?"
"We were hoping you would help us with that," The police officer requested.
"Does she have to attend the funeral?" I asked them out of curiosity. "Cause that would be one awkward funeral for me to be at."
"Preferably, yes."
"Shucks. I'll see what I can do. Just text me the location and date of the funeral thing and I'll bring her there."
That's unfortunate. Chloe has been going on and on about how her parents no longer wanted her, and guess what? They didn't. They abandoned their child and committed suicide instead. Imagine dropping off your child at a supermarket knowing you'll never see her again. You just dropped a child into the wilderness like you're dropping an infant dog into the jungle. Chances of survival? Low as Hell.
I waved the police officers off.
Checked in. I'm in Kaster's.
Chloe Chloe Chloe. Boy, do I have news for you. Guess what? Your parents didn't want you, they died yesterday. Before you get too sad, remember that I'm always here and ready to accept you into my arms. Hell, I'm 18, and I should be allowed to sign adoption papers.
"Hello!" I greeted her with a wide smile.
"Sis!"
I embraced Chloe and the two of us went over to the bed. She started talking while basically bouncing around. "So! So! I made a friend today! He's this really nice boy from next door! He said his name is Jack and he'll play with me!"
"That's great!"
That's great, but just know that your parents passed away, and you might have to attend their funeral without even knowing their names yet.
"And… and…" Chloe said with her face red.
She hugged the book I had given as a gift to her yesterday. She whispered, "He's really cool too…"
"Having a little crush there, I see," I joked around with her. "It's fine, just don't get too serious about it, okay?"
Not every relationship ends well. Like your parents who decided to divorce before off-ing themselves after abandoning their child.
"Ogey," Chloe said.
A switch flicked in Chloe. She stared at me with wide, curious eyes, the eye only seen by children. She asked me, "What are we gonna play today?"
"Huh…" I tapped my chin. "How about a story instead?"
"Is it a scary story?"
"Maybe," I shrugged before smiling cheekily at her. "What? Are you scared?"
"I'm not!"
"Really?"
"Really!"
I laughed lightly before starting my story. "Did you know that today, Aliens from Planet X came to Earth to try and take over this planet?"
"Wha…?"
I laughed and patted her back, laughing. "Don't worry about it, it's all fun and games. Nothing happened, you don't have to be afraid."
"You know what? How bout a different story, hm? Let's see, you heard of the Bear in the Magical Garden?" I asked her.
"No," Chloe answered.
"So once upon a time, there was a beautiful garden full of flowers that sparkled like gems. Those were not just any regular flowers, they were magical flowers that could do all sorts of things! The green flower could help sick people get better. The red flower could help make people stronger. The blue flower could make water when squeezed. But all the flowers were kept in one garden and kept by a grumpy old man that doesn't like to share."
"Why?"
"Cause he's a grumpy old man," I told her, getting a small laugh out of her.
I continued the story.
"But one day, one creature from the magical forest decided he wanted the flowers too, and that the grumpy old man should share some. The bear asked, but the grumpy old man said NO. So the bear decided to borrow the wings of his friend, an owl, and fly over the fences of the garden. He managed to get a few flowers and flew off, leaving the grumpy old man grumpier than before. So one day, the grumpy old man leaves his house in search of the bear. While he was gone, more animals started stealing the flowers too, leaving nothing in the garden. The bear had planted the flowers he had taken near his cave. One day, when he was away, those flowers were taken as well."
"Poor bear."
"Moral of the story? Eventually, everyone ends up with nothing," I told her, poking her cheek. "If you treasure something, it's going to be gone one day."
"What's 'treasure'?" Chloe asked.
"Something you like," I simplified.
"Then will you be gone one day too?"
"Who knows?"
Why am I like this?
I patted her head, telling her as gently as I could, "You'll meet more people as you grow up, so don't get too attached to me, okay?"
Chloe shook her head.
I laughed and crossed my arms, pretending to be mad. "You've forsaken me, Chloe."
"Forsaken?"
I shrugged. "Never mind then. By the way, tell me more about what's been going on around here. Are the adults here nice?"
Chloe started talking to me about everything that had been going on in Kaster's. The most notable thing would be the staff being quite nice to the kids there. Besides that, the other kids were starting to play with her, thus her little crush on that other guy.
Good. Keep yourself distracted.
"Sis, what are you doing tomorrow?" Chloe asked.
"Huh, maybe go out shopping," I told her. "Just look around and see what's going on."
"Can I follow?" She pressed on.
I moved my lips to one side as I thought about it. "Sure, why not? I'll take you over to the town fair tomorrow."
"Town fair?"
"Yeah, it's this really big place where people go to. There's a ton of yummy food and fun things to do," I explained to her. "You'll love it."
"Really? I'm excited!" Chloe cheered.
Never really understood people who could just state their emotions. Kinda like telling other people you're sad. I guess it works? But it also doesn't? Not my groove, you know? Call me a hypocrite, I dare you.
After playing a few board games with Chloe, I decided it was time for me to leave.
I waved her off, Chloe looking excited instead of sad. Was she really looking forward to going out with me tomorrow? I guess the town fair is fun and all, but it had mostly stuck at the back of my mind. I was just thinking about going there to look around and nothing else. Now, I gotta show Chloe around.
It'll be fun, I think.
I'm not the biggest fan of fairs. They get so crowded and noisy with too many kids crying. But I gotta be a reliable role model for Chloe.
I pulled my phone out on the bus, staring at the time. Maybe a little bit of research will help…
Home~
"I'm home!" I announced when I opened the door.
Fable was sitting on the couch in the living room. Interesting. I closed the door behind me, asking him, "Whatcha doing on the couch? Don't you usually game in your room until around, say, twelve in the morning?"
"Dad got mad and locked me out of my room," He sighed, scrolling through his phone. "Apparently I was being too loud or something."
"He's working the night shift today?"
"Yeah," Fable confirmed. "He'll be leaving soon, but he kicked me out of my room for shouting and disturbing his sleep."
"You do make quite a bit of noise," I agreed.
"Can't do anything about it," He shrugged.
"You literally can."
When I was met with silence, I started joking around with him. "Why don't you hit the gym more instead of staying in your room so much? Work out with your girlfriend or something. I'm sure it'll be romantic."
"How did you know Yin's into fitness?" Fable looked away from his phone.
I stared at him. "You serious? Your girlfriend hits the gym?"
Fable looked away. I let a smile spread across my face. "Go tag along with her one day, it'll definitely benefit you."
"I already agreed to go to the gym with her tomorrow," Fable grumbled. "I'm already starting to regret my decisions."
"I bet you would lose an arm-wrestling match with her."
"I-" Fable started before hesitating. "-might, actually."
I laughed and headed toward my room. What a day it has been! Went to a University, went to Kaster's and messed with Fable. Now, I gotta look forward to going around the town fair with Chloe. She's basically my disciple at this point.
Well, bye!
