Effect of Aging

Feng Mian still didn't have much work yet because Zhang Liang needed to discuss with the directors and others too regarding the sweet that he would start to make. For the time being, her team didn't have much work yet.

Today, Feng Mian got a call from the doctor to tell her the observation that they have concluded so far.

"How's my mother, Doctor?" Feng Mian came to the hospital.

The doctor stood up when he saw Feng Mian. Ever since Feng Mian's mother was moved to the VIP wards, the doctor began to treat her politer. "Madam Zhang, I'm afraid that I have some bad news."

"Yes…?"

"There's urine leakage after operation. We're going to need another operation to solve this," the Doctor replied.

Feng Mian's heart dropped. She had learned some of the risks when her mother took the operation for the first time back then. It was then she came to know that one of the short term risks was urine leakage. To solve this problem, they would need to have another surgery to repair it.

"Is my mom alright?"

"She's fine overall, but based on the observation that was made, she might have started to have high blood pressure."

High blood pressure.

Feng Mian felt like crying now. Her mother had a weak heart, which she had known from a long time ago. If her mother also had high blood pressure, it would increase the chance of getting a heart attack. Heart attack was not easy to handle at all because it might lead to death if it was not taken care in time.

The doctor watched Feng Mian's expression. He didn't really want to tell her, but he knew that he needed to. "We need your permission to do another surgery to repair the leakage."

"I understand. I'll take care of the documents necessary."

Even though Feng Mian still didn't like it, she knew that it would be necessary for her to prepare another operation for her mother. Right now, she truly felt that the Heaven didn't want her to keep her mother around.

Without the money that Zhang Liang gave to her, she wouldn't be able to do anything except to watch her mother die.

'I guess I'm truly lucky to be able to meet with Zhang Liang.'

Feng Mian finished the documents necessary and was told that they would arrange the operation tomorrow. She also got some other information of the risk that her mother had, which seemed to grow even much longer than what she had heard before.

When one becomes older, they have to maintain their health better. It was not like younger people didn't have to, but the risk will increase when they grew older.

"Doctor, can I visit my mom?"

"Yes, you can."

"Thank you."

Feng Mian made her way to her mother's room. She knocked on the door and saw her mother on the bed. Lin San smiled warmly when she saw Feng Mian walk inside. "What is it? Another bad news from the hospital."

"Mom…"

"I'm fine, Dear," Lin San patted Feng Mian's head tenderly. "You just have to trust the doctors. Besides, I already know that I'm growing much older as time passes, so I might not have much time."

"Mom, don't say that please." Feng Mian carefully hugged Lin San. "You're going to live a long life. Didn't you say that you want to see Brother return and me having a child?"

"Yes, I want to." Lin San patted Feng Mian's head tenderly. "That's why I'm going to be alright."

"En."

Feng Mian closed her eyes as she sunk her face on her mother's shoulder. She didn't want to lose her mother.

Lin San also didn't say anything as she lightly patted Feng Mian's head tenderly. Her expression was filled with love and worry for her daughter.
