Chapter 2: A New Beginning

Kaienreki Calendar March 27, 1522.

In the forest of Mt. Colubo, a dimensional rift opened up to reveal a being that was not a native of this world. Thrown out of the rift was a grey-skinned young man with white-waist-length hair, black eyes, and a forehead protector-like appendage that started from the left side of his forehead and had an upward curve on its right side and a single horn on its left side. The young man was clothed in a white robe with magatama markings below his neck, on his sleeve cuffs, on the rims at the bottom of the robe, and on the back in a pattern 3x3.

The young man looked around his new surroundings with a curious glint in his eyes.

"Well, this is nice, I guess. I should probably figure out all the gifts that were given from God and confirm where I am," said Zachariah. Thinking of the system given by God, a screen appeared with a variety of information for Zachariah.

Name: Shinku Otsutsuki (Previously Zachariah Stuart, New name is cool right!)

As Shinku was observing the content presented upon his status window, there was a commotion nearby caused by a young boy wearing a straw hat and the trees that were being used as practice dummies.

Boom.

Hearing the loud noise, Shinku moved toward the commotion and was surprised at the devasted trees that were sprawled about the ground. As Shinku moved closer, the young boy wearing the straw hat noticed the peculiar stranger. With excitement appearing as stars in the boy's eyes, he grabbed a nearby tree and launched himself toward the stranger.

"Woah, you look weird. Why do you have grey skin? What's with the thing on your head and why do you have a horn on your head? I want to touch it," said the young boy after he rocketed toward Shinku.

Unprepared for the sudden influx of questions directed toward him, Shinku was momentarily stunned. As he was the young boy took the opportunity to touch the horn on Shinku's head.

After a moment, Shinku took a step back to see who talked to him and was touching the horn that he now had. Seeing the iconic straw hat that was only worn by one person on this island, Shinku concluded that this young boy was Monkey D. Luffy. No longer stunned by the boy, Shinku answered Luffy's curiosity.

"I have grey skin because I was born that way. The thing on my head is a forehead protector, it protects something important underneath that shouldn't be seen by people. The horn on my head is also something I was born with, but most of the others that look like me have two horns instead of just the one I have," said Shinku with a hint of admiration in his voice.

"My name is Monkey D. Luffy, I am going to be the King of the Pirates. What's your name, also I've decided that you will be a part of my crew, you look cool," said Luffy confidently.

Pondering on whether or not to take the chance to become a member of the future King of Pirates, Shinku wonders if that would be a good idea moving forward.

'Well, the Marines are mostly corrupt and serve the World Government as loyal dogs, so no. The World Government is even more corrupt and serves the whims of the Celestial Dragons, no to that idea too as the Celestial Dragons would probably take an interest in my peculiarity and have me as a slave. A life as a bounty hunter would be good for a while, with all the money that would come with it however, most bounty hunters turn to a life of piracy due to corrupt Marines. If I am going to become a pirate anyway, I might as well join one that is beloved by the world and won't try to kill me for my peculiar looks as well.'

With those thoughts going through his mind, Shinku agrees to become a member of Luffy's crew.

"Luffy, now that I am a member of your crew you should know that I am both an aspiring ninja and a musician," said Shinku.

At the mention of his new friend being an aspiring ninja, Luffy got even more excited, and with the addition of Shinku being a musician as well, Luffy burst into joyous laughter.
