Mt. Lady Hero Work-Studies! A Lurking Evil Uncovered?

Today marked the start of our Second-Year Hero Work-Studies! I flew a couple miles to Mt. Lady's Agency, which it was quite a large building from what it looked like on my phone. Once I got there, I took in how huge the building was. It was quite fitting for someone who has a Gigantification Quirk! I entered the building and stopped in front of a desk.

"Hello! How may I help you?" The secretary asked.

"I'm here for an internship. I believe U.A. has already contacted you guys?" I responded.

She looked down at the computer, then back up at me, "Oh! Mr. Leonidus! Mt. Lady is just upstairs. She'll be in the 2nd room in the right hallway."

I nodded and thanked her. I walked up the stairs and got to the hallway, the second room? There's a door on each side of this hallway! It felt like I was trying to find a classroom on the first day of school... I walked to the second door on the right and opened it, it was just a supply closet. I walked to the other door and opened it. Inside of it looked more like some sort of... Studio apartment? Around came Mt. Lady in her street clothes carrying a box of twinkies, she stopped and stared at me, I think she might've forgot about the work-study!

"Twinkie?" She asked as she held one out to me.

I laughed a bit, "Sure."

I entered her base of operations? I guess I wouldn't really call it a base, more like a home or a much bigger dorm room! I sat on her couch as I waited for her to get her hero suit on. This was gonna be quite the Work-Study, I could already feel it.

"Okay! Sorry about that, I completely forgot about the study stuff." Mt. Lady apologized.

I waved it off, "It's alright! So, what are we going to be doing today?"

"Um... Well, normally I just wait until I'm called somewhere. I normally don't get too many calls though. Maybe about 5 or so every 2 hours? Sorry if you expected to be getting calls 24/7." Mt. Lady explained.

"Eh, it's no big deal. I kind of need a break after everything that's happened this year!" I told her.

She nodded at me, "Wait, how about we just patrol the city for a while!"

I agreed and we headed out of her agency. The streets were as lively as usual, hundreds of people were walking, visiting the nearby stores, just the usual!

"Sayonara!" I heard someone shout.

We looked back and saw someone run off with a purse, I looked up at Mt. Lady and she smiled.

"Do your thing, kid." She grinned.

I activated Mode Three and darted towards the purse thief. I seemingly appeared right in front of him.

"Hey, where ya going?" I questioned.

The man stopped in his tracks and turned to run the other way. As he did, he stood in front of me yet again.

"Cut your losses while you can, just hand it over. I can do this all day!" I exclaimed.

The man trembled in fear, "P-Please! Don't hurt me! Here, take it!"

He threw the purse at me. That was easier than expected. I returned the purse to the woman.

"Thank you so much, Leonidus!" She beamed.

"No problem! Have a nice day, ma'am!" I smiled back.

I met up with Mt. Lady, who had two huge drinks in her hands! She gave me one of them.

"How'd you get these?" I wondered.

"Oh, I just seduced the cashier into giving them to me for free. That's the perks of being as glamorous as me!" She bragged.

Good grief, Mt. Lady's definitely an interesting person, that's for sure. We continued our patrol; it was pretty calm today!

"You know, I didn't expect someone like you to intern or conduct a Hero Work-Study with me. Usually, the kids that have extreme perversions intern with me. I guess that's why I don't really have my Work-Studies planned out ahead of time." Mt. Lady admitted.

"Woah, does that mean that Mineta worked with you? The kid that looks kind of like a grape?" I asked.

She nodded and giggled, "Oh, him? Yeah, he did. It was probably the weirdest Work-Study I've ever experienced!"

I laughed with her, I guess we weren't the only ones that've seen how weird Mineta can get!

"I've gotta question for you, Leonidus," Mt. Lady continued, "Did you really take on V.I. Vanilla? The whole Hero Association and social media's been buzzing about it."

I tilted my head and a look of astonishment fell over me, "Really? I get the Hero Association, but people are still talking about that?"

"Yeah, that's really all I've seen. Plus, I've overheard that the HPSC is wanting to bring you in to talk about some things. But that's all I know." Mt. Lady responded.

The HPSC? Does she mean the Hero Public Safety Commission?

"Oh? So, the head honchos wanna talk with me? That's not intimidating in the slightest." I joked.

"You've got an interesting sense of humor, Leonidus." Mt. Lady giggled.

"I guess I just see things for how they are!" I replied with a laugh.

We continued our patrol, nothing really happened around these parts it seems, except for petty theft and loitering. So, we returned back to her agency. Tomorrow I'd be back and hopefully we'd find something interesting!

As I left the agency, I was stopped by a group of suits.

"Are you Alyx Leonidus?" One of them asked me.

"Y-Yes, I am. What do you want?" I hesitated.

They all held out a badge, "We're from the HPSC, we've come to ask you some questions."

I nodded my head and we entered a car with completely tinted windows. How cliché, a group of suits in a damn secret agent car. We soon arrived in front of the widest building I've ever seen! We stepped out and they escorted me inside. We walked into an elevator that went to the highest floor, floor 40. The elevator ride wasn't exactly the most comfortable feeling ride... The elevator doors opened and they motioned me to step forward. At this point, I was feeling extremely uneasy. I walked forward and sitting in front of me was a woman.

"Hello, Alyx. I believe you know who we are, correct?" She asked.

"The Hero Public Safety Commission and you must be the head of this place?" I replied.

"That I am, I am the President of this facility. For privacy reasons, you'll only refer to me as the President or ma'am, am I clear?" She told me.

"Yes, ma'am." I responded.

She nodded her head and she clasped her hands together in front of her, "Good, now, take a seat."

I walked towards her and sat down in front of her. I was breathing very quietly and I was trying not to look scared or nervous.

"So, we've come to an understanding that you've come into contact with the League of Villains after the incidents in Kyoto and Jaku City. Can you elaborate on that?" The President asked.

"Yeah, I had an encounter with them after they ambushed one of my... Classmates." I told her.

"You tracked them down for four days, we have a police report stating you interrogated at least over a dozen criminals. This could've caused an uproar, Leonidus. You should've let the Pro Heroes handle this." She lectured.

"Not to be rude, ma'am, but where was the press over this? Where were the conferences or the Pros saying that they'll find the League and put a stop to them? That ball was in our court and we missed our shot big time." I rebutted.

She scoffed, "It's almost as if you favor these villains rather than acknowledging your wrong doings. Are you sure you know what you're doing?"

There it was again! Just like what Vanilla said to me!

"Listen, don't try to patronize me, alright? They've reformed, all of them. I know that at any moment they could go back, but if we don't treat them like garbage, then we won't have to worry about the League!" I exclaimed.

"How would the families of those they killed feel about them still wandering about society, quote on quote, 'reformed', Leonidus?" The President asked.

I looked to the side and stayed quiet.

"We need information, Alyx. You can give all of us a chance to get rid of these villains, we just need your ability to infiltrate into their lives and gather information." She told me.

I looked up at her, speechless. They wanted me to spy on all of them? I'm a goddamn student, and they're wanting me to spy on them simply because I've made friends with them?! The President sat down a glass of water in front of me.

"I'll give you a moment to think about it." She told me.

I stared at the glass, I picked it up and drank a bit of water. I sat there and thought about it. What could I even say?

"I... I'm not sure. It just doesn't feel right to me. Sorry, but I don't think I can do it." I told her.

I got up from the chair and started walking away, but what she said stopped me.

"We can't take 'No' for an answer, Leonidus." She coldly responded.

I turned my head, but the elevator doors opened and a group of suits walked out of the elevator. All of them were standing in front of the elevator and they started circling me. I tried to activate Mode Three, but nothing happened!

"That water you drank contained a bit of the Quirk Destroying Drug from the Shie Hassaikai. We knew you'd back out of this, so we couldn't take any chances. Not to worry though, your Quirk is only nullified, not destroyed." The President explained.

I got in my fighting stance as the group got closer and closer to me. I heard a window shatter behind me, and the suits fell to the ground, all of them were pierced by red feathers!

"H-Hawks!" I shouted with glee.

The President held out a gun towards Hawks, which he hit her with a huge gust of wind thanks to his wings, and knocked her into a shelf.

"Come on! It won't be long until those other idiots show up!" Hawks yelled over to me.

I ran towards the window and jumped out, I grabbed Hawks' hand and we took off. I looked behind us and saw a group of "heroes" chasing after us.

"We've got company!" I shouted.

Hawks looked back and his eyes widened, "Oh, come on!"

We were flying as fast as we could, but the other heroes were slowly catching up!

"If they're still following us once we get back to the dorms at U.A., I want you to throw me through one of the windows, I don't care which!" I yelled up to him.

Hawks shook his head and we hauled ass towards U.A.! One of the heroes grabbed onto my leg!

"Where do you think you're going?!" He shouted.

"Good grief..." I sighed.

I lifted my foot and kicked him as hard as I can, I'm pretty sure I broke his nose! He let go of me and fell down to the streets below.

"Geez, some kick you've got there, kid!" Hawks complimented.

One of the heroes blasted Hawks in the back and we crashed into a rooftop. We got up and the remaining 2 heroes stood in front of us.

"Looks like we've got this wrapped up!" One of them laughed.

I helped Hawks up and we faced our pursers, "Okay, assholes, let's do this!"

Even though I still couldn't use my Quirk, it didn't mean that I couldn't kick ass! I lunged towards some mohawk guy, he dodged my first punch and tried to hit me with a headbutt. I countered it with my much harder forehead and I knee'd him in the face. I roundhouse kicked him in the face, I looked over to make sure Hawks wasn't getting overwhelmed. He was absolutely destroying the other guy! Mohawk guy roared angrily at me, I rolled my eyes and countered his lunging strike, I clotheslined him. It caused him to gag and it made him backflip! Once he landed on the ground, I punched him in the face to make sure he stayed unconscious. I rushed over to Hawks, the other hero had him pinned down! I tackled him off of Hawks and hit him with a barrage of punches.

"DORARARARA!" I yelled.

I was hitting him with a much slower version of my Dorarara Rush, but it still was effective! I got punched in the face which knocked me back, Hawks took over and slashed at his face with a few feathers. We hit him with a combined punch which knocked him out cold!

"Looks like you can handle your own, even without a Quirk!" Hawks noted.

"Yeah, I picked up some things from Mirko. Oh! And Momo taught me some things too!" I replied.

I grabbed his hand as we took off towards U.A. I kept a lookout for any of the HPSC President's little cronies. Thankfully, the skies were clear, and Hawks didn't have to throw me through any of the dorm windows.

"Thank you, Hawks. Please, keep an eye on them, for me?" I asked.

Hawks nodded and took off into the air. I hurried into the dorms, I ignored whatever Kirishima said to me as I was closing the curtains. Although it probably wouldn't work if they did come here, but it's worth the effort.

"Woah, what's going on? Are you alright, Alyx?" Shoji questioned.

I was trying not to go into a panic attack, then realization hit me, Hawks killed members of the HPSC, then we took out some "heroes", and now The President of it will be trying to find both of us. I was breathing quickly, trying to formulate some sort of sentence, but all that came out was quick gibberish. They helped me sit down on the couch, and Momo put one arm around me and put her hand on my chest.

"Darling, it's alright, whatever happened to you is over. It's okay." Momo cooed as she rubbed my back.

I took deep breaths in and out. I finally managed to calm down after a while and everyone gathered around me.

"Okay... I was escorted to the HPSC, where I talked to the President of the association. They tried to make me become a spy to get information from the former League. But being that I'm friends with most of them now, I couldn't do it. I tried to leave but they wouldn't let me, and before that I drank a bit of water that the President laced with that Quirk Destroying Drug. Hawks came in and saved me from whatever they were going to do to me. We escaped but we had to fight off 3 of their 'heroes' which were easy to take out. And now I'm home." I explained to them.

"Your Quirk's been destroyed?! Like how Mirio's was?" Ojiro asked.

"No, only nullified, I'm not sure how if she called it a 'Destroying Drug', but maybe it was because I drank just a tiny bit of it?" I suggested.

"Well, what the fuck?" Bakugo added.

I agreed, "I know, that's what I'm thinking. I'm pretty sure they'll drag you all into this, so I'm sorry about that."

"Hey, it's okay. We'll get through this together, like we always do!" Kirishima said with glee.

I looked up and smiled. I'm pretty sure Mr. Aizawa would be coming in anytime soon. The dorm door opened, and right on cue, Mr. Aizawa walked in.

"So, A rather big bird told me you've uncovered something, Alyx." Mr. Aizawa smirked.

I grinned, thankfully Mr. Aizawa was on my side! I explained to him what I'm fairly certain Hawks already told him. Mr. Aizawa told me not to worry about it and told all of us to tell him if we see anything suspicious around the campus. As he left, I sighed. Out of all of the things that could've happened, why was this a thing I had to deal with? I turned on the T.V. which was finally off the news, it was on some cooking channel. I let my body go limp on the couch, I was already over today and it hasn't even ended yet.

Uraraka leaned over the couch next to my face, "So, whatcha want to eat? Deku and I are going out to get something to eat!"

"Honestly, anything at this point. Also, take Kirishima or Jiro with you, please." I told. them

"Oh, okay!" Uraraka cheerfully replied.

I could tell she knew I was worried about anyone going out into the city. Kirishima joined them as they left the dorms. I stood up and tried to activate Mode Three.

"Not in the dorms!" I heard Iida yell over to me.

I sighed, so instead I tried to activate my Base Mode. It actually worked!

"I did it!" I shouted.

Momo hurried over, "That's great! So, it must've only nullified it like she said."

"Yeah, the only troubling part is how did she get a hold of that Quirk Destroying Drug? Wasn't it all destroyed back when we raided Black-Heart's Embassy? She mentioned the Shie Hassaikai, but didn't Chisaki only create small batches of them?" I wondered.

"You're right, I'm not sure, honestly. Unless she's developed a way to create them herself..." Momo suggested.

Soon, Uraraka and the others returned. They brought back sushi!

"Sorry, we didn't know what you wanted, so I got you the same thing I get!" Deku told me.

I looked at the label on the box, "Dragon Sushi?"

"That's just the name of it, silly!" Hagakure giggled.

I opened it up and ate a piece. It was almost as good as Momo's Tatertot Casserole!

[1 Hour Later...]

I got ready for bed, I already knew I'd be sound asleep tonight, especially after everything that's happened. I haven't seen Grandpa Tanjiro in quite a while, I wonder how him and Nezuko were doing? Momo walked into my room as I was getting dressed.

"Oh? I'm surprised you didn't knock." I commented as I put on sweatpants.

"I'm pretty sure you told me a while ago that I didn't have to knock, right?" Momo told me.

I laughed and shook my head, "Hey, that's new, I like it!"

I pointed out what she was wearing, Momo was wearing this pretty red velvet nightgown.

She smiled at me, "Thank you! Mina bought it for me for my birthday."

"It really compliments your eyes! Sorry if that sounds generic." I replied while rubbing the back of my head.

"It's fine, I honestly think it's cute, Alyx." Momo giggled.

I turned off my lights and we climbed into my bed. We drifted asleep, but a few hours later, we were awoken by a knocking on my balcony door. We both shot up, and I activated Mode Three.

"Stay quiet, I'll check it out." I whispered to her.

I got up from my bed and slowly crept over to my balcony door, I flung open the curtains and standing there was Hawks. I deactivated my Quirk, thankfully it wasn't some random hero. I slid open the balcony door.

"Oh, Hawks, what are you doing here?" I asked.

He walked in, "Just checking in on- Oh, is this the Misses? I wasn't interrupting anything, was I?"

"Oh, no! We were sleeping until you knocked." I told him.

Momo rubbed her eyes, I could tell she was trying to figure out if she was dreaming or not.

"H-Hawks...?" Momo muttered.

"Yep, that's me. You're pretty sharp! So, how's everything? Anything weird going on?" Hawks asked.

I nodded, "Yeah, it's good, so far. I'm still continuing my internship with Mt. Lady. I'm pretty sure she'll have heard about everything that's happened."

"Ah, that's good. You've made quite a stir around here, kid. Things are starting to get uncovered that some of the Safety Commission members might not want to be discovered by the citizens here, let alone the Pro Heroes. But some of the HPSC asskissers aren't too happy, especially with the both of us. I'm keeping an eye out for anything, I hope that's what you're doing as well." Hawks continued.

"Alright, will do!" I nodded.

Hawks left my room, "Ciao!"

I closed the balcony door and the curtains. I returned back to bed, Momo sat up and looked at me.

"So, are we going to talk about that or...?" Momo wondered.

"Maybe tomorrow, I'm still trying to process all of this." I replied.
