Idiots.

Georgina grabbed her phone, sitting up in her bed. She had just returned from her job as a waitress in a restaurant. She only worked there three days a week - Monday, Wednesday and Friday - because she wanted to make out time for her babysitting job at Ella's house.

As she scrolled through her phone, her mind suddenly went to Adrian King. She still couldn't believe she had met the Adrian King. He was like a celebrity to other celebrities and she met him! She even sat on the same couch with him! They shared a bowl of ice cream! She even had a conversation with him! What the.....

It still felt like a dream and even Kyra had not believed it until she came to Ella's house and saw him. To say that Kyra freaked out was an understatement. She literally went crazy. She kept screaming for minutes and then, she proceeded to hug Adrian.

Like, why?

Georgina never really fancied herself as a fan of celebrities but she was still excited to meet one. It didn't help that Adrian was nice and so easy to talk to - that was after he stopped freaking out at the thought that she was his fianceé whom he was running away from. When she first met him, he was incredibly rude to her but only because he thought she was someone else. But after that misunderstanding was cleared up, he was a lot nicer to her. Well, as nice as he could be. He still came off us as arrogant and rude yet, nice.

As Georgina sat on her bed, phone in hand, thinking of Adrian, she had no idea when she clicked on Google icon and typed ADRIAN KING in the search box.

She clicked on 'images' and her screen was flooded with pictures of Adrian. There were pictures of him at awards shows, at the beach, at conferences. Many of his pictures included women - different women - on his arms. Some of them were just of him alone.

However, the first picture was one of Adrian and Daphne Rodriguez, a woman who people had repeatedly told Georgina she looked like.

Georgina clicked on the picture and read the title: "C.E.O of Kings' Enterprise engaged to billionaire heiress: Daphne Rodriguez."

Hmm.... no wonder he mistook her for his fianceé yesterday.

There was a link to another article and she clicked on it. This one read: "Daphne Rodriguez ditched by new fianceé just few minutes after engagement."

A frown appeared on his face as she read the article. He ditched his fianceé? That was a dick a move. Why would he do that, though? Did he not love her? Did they have a fight? Was there even any sensible reason for ditching your partner at a public place?

Maybe Adrian wasn't as cool as she thought he was.

Maybe he was just as much of a dick as everyone said he was.

But he was so nice to her...

The sound of the main door opening and closing interrupted her thoughts and she rose up from the bed to move to the living room, dropping her phone on the table.

"Dad, is that you?!" she called out as she approached the door that adjoined the passageway and living room. She pushed the door open and walked in, stopping when she saw her dad stand in the middle of the room and shrug off his coats. "Dad, welcome."

"Sweetie," Her father said, turning around to face her. "You are back from work already?"

"Yeah," she answered. "How was work?" she asked.

"The usual. Stressful," he said, as he slumped into a chair and started to pull off his shoes. "Have you started cooking dinner?"

"No. I was waiting for you. What do you want to eat?" she asked.

"I don't know. Just prepare anything," he mumbled tiredly.

She nodded. "Alright, let me check what we have," she said, turning and walking into the kitchen. Even as she moved to the kitchen to start preparing dinner, Georgina found out that she couldn't stop thinking about Adrian's face.

Ugh, she was such an idiot.

"What do you think?" Daphne asked her friend, Lucy as she stood in front of the mirror, a thoughtful look on her face. She twirled around. "The gown is nice, right?"

"Yeah, really pretty," Lucy replied, moving to stand behind Daphne. "It's perfect for dinner," she said, as she stared at Daphne's reflection in the mirror. The said dress was a red, strapless mini dress that stopped right above Daphne's thighs.

"That's what I thought."

"So, Adrian is coming?" Lucy asked casually, turning away and slumping on the bed.

"Yeah, he is," Daphne answered with a huge smile. She turned around to face Lucy. "I told you he was going to come to me."

"Yeah, but as he said sorry?" Her friend questioned and she frowned.

"Well, not exactly. He sent me flowers and a gift. I assume that's his own of apologizing," Daphne said with a small frown on her face. Lucy opened her mouth to talk but Daphne cut her off, "But I'm sure he's going to apologize once he arrives at dinner."

Lucy shrugged, trying not to look doubtful. "I still think you should take things slow, though."

"Oh, Luce honey, a man like Adrian King doesn't want to take things slow," Daphne said to her friend as she turned back to look at the mirror. She strutted her leg out, striking a pose. "I know that much."

"A man like Adrian King also doesn't want to get married," Lucy countered.

"Hmm, we'll see."

Lucy sighed and rolled her eyes. Daphne was never the person to listen to a sense of reasoning. She simply did whatever she felt was right and waited for it to blow up in her face. Lucy was quite sure that this whole marriage fiasco with Adrian would blow up in Daphne's face but she couldn't say that outrightly. So, she opted for subtle warnings but apparently, Daphne couldn't even pick up on those.

Eager for a change of subject, Lucy asked, "So, what gift did he get you?"

"A new dress," Daphne answered.

"A new dress?" Lucy asked and Daphne nodded.

"Yeah. It's a really pretty dress."

"He bought you a new dress to apologize for ditching you," Lucy said out loud. "Honey, that doesn't sound right."

Daphne turned away from the mirror. "What do you mean? I think it's cute that he went to the mall for me."

"Well...."

"Whatever, I liked the dress," she answered with a shrug.

"Wow, okay. Well, why don't you wear it to dinner then? I'm sure he will be glad to see you in the dress he bought."

"You know, you are right!" Daphne exclaimed. "He probably bought the dress so I could wear it to dinner."

"Did he say that?"

"No."

"Was there a note in the package?" Lucy questioned.

"No."

"Not even an 'I'm sorry' note?" Lucy asked again.

"No."

"I really want to tell you that you are making a mistake but I feel like I've been saying that a lot for the past two days, so, just do whatever you want."

"Good," Daphne said. She was slowly becoming fed up of Lucy bagging on her relationship with Adrian. Maybe she and Adrian had a rocky start but Daphne was pretty sure that they could work out their differences. She was so sure that she and Adrian were the perfect match and all they needed was a little bit of time to get used to each other. But Lucy didn't seem to think so. Lucy made it clear that she thought Daphne was making a mistake.

"So, are you wearing the dress?" Lucy asked referring to dress Adrian sent to Daphne.

"Hmm, I don't think so. I think I'd stick to this one," Daphne answered, referring to the red dress she was currently wearing. "But...we are going to have a date tomorrow night, so, I'll wear the dress then."

"Woah, woah, he asked you out on a date?" Lucy asked. Maybe Adrian wasn't as bad as she thought.

"No," Daphne answered. "It's part of our plans to make up for him ditching me on Saturday night. We have to do some interviews, press tours and he has to take me to a public place where people can see us."

No, screw that. Adrian was still an idiot, except Lucy was beginning to see that maybe Daphne was just as much of an idiot as he was. "Wow," Lucy said, unsure of what to say.

"Yup."

You are both idiots, Lucy wanted to tell her friend. Was this how a relationship was supposed to be like? It didn't look like Adrian fancied Daphne at all and he refused to say anything. Daphne, on the other hand, was so insistent on making sure that Adrian got married to her that she was blinded to all of his red flags. She refused to listen to Lucy's advice either.

Why was she such an idiot?
