Nothing But Brawns

Whew, who would've thought that the apocalypse has turned the people into a bunch of try-hards? I've just met my first ally who recently gained some trust issues after being betrayed by his crew. It's not like I'm concerned about what he thinks of me, but I wish he doesn't piss me off. To tell you the truth he smells delicious and that's from a food perspective im straight as hell

"So, L are you from around here or something...? I would've thought you were from the military, but seeing as you're too informal I can guess you're from around this area. You're confused since you can't understand your way around anymore, don't worry I'll try my best to be your guide," The engine of their busted ride roared as more hordes of zombies followed their trail

Rick wasn't so sure if the two of them should keep on driving since they caught a ton of attention with their current means of transportation. Regardless of that, Leo opposes his idea, and he asked him to drive and he'll deal with the corpses by himself. Rick who saw his capability and strength to even choke and raise his dead ally with his small figure had proven his worth

"Correction... I'm from around this town, it changes so much in a matter of weeks I can't even remember my tracks. I don't have any place I currently desire to go, im on a mission to find someone that I hold dearly in my chest. I'll stay in this city before I confirmed whether she turned into a living corpse, dead, or she miraculously survive," His words were too heavy, and having his face covered by his helmet made it more uncomfortable

'However, I don't have any problems if my crush is a zombie... I don't know how I kept my consciousness but there's something I learned about my mutation. My body became more lively compared to my previous form, I can feel a slight disturbance in my nerves, but it isn't as strong as a human being. But its enough to warn my body if I put too much strain on the use of my muscle and other body parts. Come to think of it, I'm curious about this guy named Rick... He has some supernatural ability kind of like the ability of the mutant zombie,'

"I'll take you up on that offer!!! I'll promise I won't be a dead weight to you L, oh im sorry if I come to be quite sociable even though it's quite unbecoming of me, since I t got betrayed. Well, at some point, I kind of realized that those guys didn't treat me like a friend and they act so familiar. Plus, you're a power wielder are you not? What would I gain if I betrayed someone like you," Leo heard it once again the term which he calls himself who possesses the ability of the mutant zombie he vanquished in his battle

"Power wielder...? I'm sorry, but can you explain what a power wielder is? I only came to unlock this power when I needed it the most," Leo replied to Rick's enthusiasm when he easily lied about the origin of his ability

'What!!! He doesn't know what it means to be a power wielder, he's this strong even though he doesn't know a thing. I didn't think I'd become a power wielder myself looks like it wasn't a waste of my time asking the previous power wielder that I encountered before. I met those six feet under the bastard of teammates since it's valuable for both L and my growth. I should answer him without leaving a single detail untold,'

Rick lowers their vehicle's speed limit and reached for his back pocket to reveal a peculiar item in Leo's eyes. It was a mutation orb? Rick was holding onto a mutation orb that has a different color compared to the ones he currently possess. Even though he masked his face to make it harder for his body to be aroused by Rick's delicious scent. His helmet wasn't able to help him ignore the feeling inside the mutation orb. A strong mutation that even the one he collected couldn't match

"L, have you seen this before? I call this the revolutionary spher~"

"Mutation orb!!! As much as I like to respect your opinion you have a lousy naming sense. What about the mutation orb? Why does it connect with the reason you call me a "Power wielder". I'm not knowledgeable about this stuff so inform me more about the mutation orb," Leo kept on pushing the name he chose to call these mysterious marbles as soon as he heard the term it was given by Rick

'Is my naming sense that horrible...? I kind of envision L as a calm and composed survivor. If he thinks it's horrible... Then I guess it's better to use the word he chose to call it,'

"Okay let's just call them the mutation orbs, these things have the power to mutate any power wielder. However, you might not want to know about where they came fro~"

"I've already gathered a ton," Leo open his bag and flexed his collected mutation orbs that fills most of the jar. Once Rick saw his collection, he anticipated that he had already known about its process

"Nevermind... If you already have a ton of that then you might have figured it out. Power wielders are the term we use to call the people who have supernatural, world-bending, or even esper-like abilities. If you know something that I don't won't you please your knowledge~ arrrgh what happened!!?" Their car was knocked out of the ground and the two of them landed on nearby ruins

Leo helped him out of the car and as the two of them exited their vehicle they met a huge muscular zombie. Its body was three times its size and its roar would gather a horde of zombies to its side, it was a leader of a horde. To make things worse its body could easily squash them with a single stomp

"Graaahhh!!!" A few zombies ambushed them behind their backs, and just when these zombies were to reach their target they were easily knocked. Rick naturally activated his ability that sends out an energy that repels anything that poses to be a threat

"Holy shit!!! That's a big one!!? L we need to run that thing is out of our league,"

'What...? Compared with the spider mutant zombie the scent of this thing is far weaker, but that horde is kind of a problem. Not for me, it's going to be hard to protect my lunch I mean my ally over here,'

"Can you defend yourself long enough that I'll come back as soon as I've killed their leader?" Rick wasn't sure of his capabilities, however, his body was capable of moving and his ability naturally activates when he's in distress

He nods to Leo's question and soon after he sees him run toward the horde of zombies with his inhuman speed. He used his ability and his flesh opened a hole and his nerves connected themselves with his body. The tentacles have gained their sentience and soon after they awaken, the zombies near his body were shredded. This goes on until he reaches the huge and muscular zombie that slams its first and causes the ground to shake

"That caught me off guard," One of his tentacles latches to nearby debris it soon pulled him to its side before the gigantic zombie could land its attack. It was powerful to be considered an enemy worth for Leo to face, however, its attack was easily predicted. His first encounter with this mutant cleared any doubts he previously hold

"Grrrrrh!!!" The zombie charges to his side after he was able to evade its attack. He thought of haunting the zombie to come and attack him in his current position, but the mutant chooses to attack. The grounds began to shake and the movement of its horde was deeply affected by its sudden decision to move

"Let's try and make use of my ability's full potential," Once he used his abilities max output, he can feel his nerves driving deeper into his weapon. He formed a deeper connection with his weapons that gave allowed him to use them as if they were a part of his limbs. He uses this newly formed connection to evade the attacks of the mutants whilst one of his tentacles latches itself to its arm

He doesn't have the strength to stop this gigantic zombie with his current strength. However, it was enough for him to endure the pull of his tentacles that made him reach its hand. He pulled out his knife and with the assistance of his tentacle-like weapons balanced himself within its body. And once he found stable ground he drives a knife into its neck

"Graaaah!!!" The zombie tried to flail him out of its body as soon as it felt its body being penetrated by a reinforced knife. This military-grade knife he brought along on his journey proved its worth when it was able to deal a decent amount of damage against his foe. When the mutant notices his location, it tried to grab what has only proven to be a nuisance

Slippery and downright flexible enough to bend his body in many ways than one, he evaded the zombie's hands. When his body wasn't capable of dodging its advancements his tentacles strikes its hand. This cycle of stabbing and relocating his position continued until he brought the mutant to the ground

"You should've desired a well-balanced body, there's nothing wrong with wanting some muscles but yours became a burden. You can't even think about your next move and you kept on relying on your brutish strength even after you know it's incapable. Well, you're already a zombie, why did I even try to scold a mindless cannibal," Once he releases his ability from his weapon he grabs it near its tip and slices off the head of the zombie

When he saw that his ally was struggling with the zombies he threw the head of their leader and the zombies scattered across the street. It seems that their actions were influenced by the one that he killed, as soon as the mutant was no longer run present they quickly ran for their lives

Rick with only the cause of his stamina when the two of them had finished collecting the orbs they headed back to the car. It's pointless to say that their only means of transportation was destroyed in the process of their survival. But as soon as the night fell for the two of them Rick notices something glimmering from afar

"There's light!!! L, look there's light at the end of that alley," Leo supported Rick by allowing him a ride on his back whilst the two traversed the ruins and soon saw a potential base

'In every zombie story, there were a few places that were said to be the perfect place to hold a base. There was a school, hotel, an open field, or maybe a place where you can easily get some resources, the mall. Not gonna lie I never thought I'd enter such a place since I was poor before the apocalypse but there's no such thing as money. Inside an apocalyptic world, money has no value the thing that the people gather is food, but I don't give a shit I want to get an Xbox. Nah that's too cheap, let's get me a PlayStation,'
