Meeting Luo Zihan 4

Immediately Xinyi got into the car, she called Lina to give her a rundown of what had happened and before Lina could speak more than a few sentences, Xinyi instantly understood what had occured.

She worried all through the ride, almost ordering her driver to drive faster to the station.

Xinyi alighted the car and walked to the station,m hastily, leaving her driver in the car as she wondered how severe the issue was.

She didn't want any situation that would drag her family name or even that of her little cousin in the mud.

Lina was waiting for Xinyi already and she instantly walked to her as Xinyi entered the station.

"Xinyi." Lina said hurriedly. When at work, Lina usually called her 'CEO or Miss Liu' but outside, they were less formal towards each other.

"What's the situation?" Xinyi asked in a grave tone, her expression turning fierce as she realized that Zi-xin could not afford to have any criminal records either now or in the future. She needed to look into this as soon as possible.

The officers are the desk didn't know what was going on or who Xinyi was but they could feel the chill emanating from the young pretty lady that just stepped into the station and the three men in uniform who were discussing at a desk instantly stopped what they were chatting about to stare at Xinyi who was busy speaking to Lina.

"It has been handled to a degree. But the detective insisted on meeting you." Lina relayed as she noticed the tense expression on Xinyi's face.

Lina heaved a small sigh. No matter how fierce her boss pretended to be, she was actually a softie when it came to issues concerning her loved ones. And Liu Zi-xin who'd just been arrested tonight was one of her dearest cousins.

Lina knew Xinyi was mostly fond of Liu Zi-xin in comparison to the others because Liu Zi-xin was too pure for the entertainment industry where she was just beginning to rise to fame and the girl could easily get taken advantage of.

Also, Liu Zi-xin had always went everywhere with Xinyi, following her around since she was around three years old and always calling her sister Zi-xin or big sis.

Xinyi was very protective towards Zi-xin because of this.

"Okay. How is Zi-xin?" Xinyi asked instantly, further proving Lina's quiet observations about Zi-xin.

"I've not seen her yet. I was told she will be released after the detective speaks to you." Lina relayed and Xinyi nodded.

"Take me to him." Xinyi told Lina who led her to the detective's office. They knocked on the door and were told to come in.

"Miss Liu, sorry to call you at such a late hour." The detective said as Xinyi walked in with Lina and shook his hand. "I'm detective Daniel Cho, handling your cousin's case. Please have a seat."

"Thank you." Xinyi nodded, not bothering to introduce herself since he obviously knew who she was. Most people in the city knew who she was and moreover, she wasn't there to introduce herself to people and make friends. "Please explain the situation in details."

"Tonight's occurence is a little tricky. Your cousin doesn't remember exactly what happened because she got drunk at an event and up till now, she's still a little tipsy but she's very sure she didn't hit the boy. She said she saw a car hit the boy and it sped off so she quickly got out to help him. She was the only one on the scene and had called for help to drag the boy that was hit into the car."

Xinyi's eyes widened at the severity of the situation. She wondered how that boy was doing and began to think of what could've truly happened.

Zi-xin truly couldn't keep her alcohol in and Xinyi liked making sure she was available whenever Zi-xin wanted to socialize to avoid any random situation like this from happening. But of course she couldn't always be available.

She knew she would be giving Zi-xin an earful later on.

"So what do we do now?" She asked with a tone of finality. What had been done couldn't be undone and the only way now was forward.

The officer beamed with some pride. From what he'd heard about Xinyi, she was ruthless in handling situations and always loved to be in charge but at the moment, she was leaving everything in his control.

He told himself that she was a quite sensible lady and knew when to back off and let others take charge.

He admired the young and beautiful lady for that.

"We'll have to wait for the victim to get conscious. There's no witness to the case, which is a bit strange since the road is usually a busy one. It's strange that no one noticed when it happened. Anyway, when the victim regains consciousness, he'll let us know exactly what happened."

"And Zi-xin said she can't properly recollect what happened?" Xinyi asked, seeking confirmation.

"According to her statement, that's positive...but we can't be sure since she's a little tipsy."

"Thank you detective Cho. Please let me know if any other thing comes up."

"I'll definitely do so. Thanks for taking time from your busy schedule to come immediately we called." He got up and shook her hand though from Xinyi's dressing, it was quite obvious that she'd been out at an event and not lounging around at her home.

Xinyi left his office to meet Lina speaking with an officer while another one was walking their way from the short hallway with another officer.

The moment Zi-xin spotted Xinyi, she broke off the hold of the officer who'd escorted her out of the cell and instantly ran towards Xinyi.

"Big sis. I suffered so much tonight." Liu Zi-xin murmured pitifully as she cried, hugging Xinyi. Her mascara was smudged and she looked so pitiful with her slightly red nose. Xinyi felt the tug at her heartstrings but gently pried Zi-xin off her.

Xinyi squinted at her cousin who had similar features with her. She knew Zi-xin was actually a troublesome person whenever she decided to let lose once in a while but the twenty two years old girl knew the limit. She would never do anything that would jeopardize her own name or the Liu family name.

"You'll tell me everything that happened. Let's leave here." Xinyi told her strictly and they walked out to the car.

Zi-xin's lower lip trembled in indignation but she was glad that her big sister was now present.

Everything would be alright.
