As I closed the door John looked up putting the book down
"y/n! Your back"he excitedly said standing up to hug me
"Yes i am"I drop my bags and hug him back
"I've missed you"he mumbles into your ear before placing a kiss on your cheek
"Trust me,i missed you to"you smiled while pulling away
"Well tomorrow's a big day we should head to bed,did you eat?"he asked in a concerning matter
"Yes I did now come on"i told him grabbing my bags again and headed upstairs
"Go put on your night gown okay I'll be right up!"he yells loud enough for me to hear i get to the top of the stairs and walk to the room i put the dress down on the bed then got something to hang it up when I got the hanger I put the dress on it then Put the dress in my closet you then grab your nightgown and change into it
Not long after you finish John walks into the room in his night clothes he smiles at the sight of you
"Now that we are ready let's go to bed"you say as you hop into bed John lays down and cuddles you, you guys slowly drift off to sleep
~Next morning~
My eyes open and scan the room I sit up and look to my side and see John asleep peacefully I give him a quick peck on the lips before getting up but I feel someone tug at my arm pulling me back down I turn to see John with a tired look on his face pulling me closer to him
"John I need to get up!"I giggle at his cuteness
"No!"he says tightening his grip so I couldn't get up I roll over with him still holding me I get to the edge of the bed and we fall off together
*THUD*
John broke your fall
"Ouchh"John groans in pain you laugh
"Is my pain funny to you?"he says trying to get up
"Maybe?" You giggle getting off him
He stands up and picks you up and throws you on the bed
"John!"I scream the let out a giggle
"What?"John laughes When all of a sudden I jump on him and with that we fall to the ground me falling on top of him we both laugh then soon after realize the position we're in my face instantly heats up and his face turns into a smirk
"Soo y/n you do realize your on top of me right"he says while a sly smirk
You instantly get off,John chuckles then sits next to you and pulls you closer to him Then you realize your dad and your mom and that stupid letter and In that moment you let a few tears slip out
"Y/n? What's wrong I didn't mean to make you cry I'm sorry"he stammered you look at him and give him a sad smile
"It's not because of you my love"I say trying to convince him because it really wasn't him
"It's my father what if" you get cut off by a knock at the door downstairs
You and John exchange confused looks but then you guys stand up and walk downstairs you open the door to see your mother
"Mo- mom" I gasp
"Honey I'm sorry for everything ever since you left your father has been hurting me he has a mistress and he blames me and I- I- I" she starts choking on her words and then burts out quietly sobbing I look at her and disbelief
"You! You watched him hurt me and hit me and almost try to kill me and you didn't do anything! You watched me while I was getting hit you watched him almost kill me!and you just sat there drinking!and now you have the audacity to say sorry!"I yell hot tears streaming down my face my mom had stopped crying and had looked at me with rage then she smacked me, my right cheek stung as soon as her hand hit my face Then John stood up
"Mrs.Monet I think it's time you leave"John looked mad to his jaw clenched and his fist balled up
"No!I'm not leaving without my daughter she is coming with me!"she yells and grabs my wrist I rip my wrist out of her grip
"I am twenty years old and I don't have to go back im an adult okay now leave before the police are involved"I demanded and at that she left
I shut the door turn to John and wipe my tears
"I'm a disgrace"I cried to my hands I feel a pair of strong arms wrap around me
"Your not a disgrace they are a disgrace to humanity for doing this to their daughter okay?now let's get you cleaned up then after that we'll go to the Schuyler Sisters house so you can get ready for the ball okay?"he says rubbing the Back of your head you nod into his shoulder
We pull away and we look at eachother
"John I'm sorry for being a burden, it's just I need you to understand that I'm broken and weak and I come with baggage l need reassurance and I understand if you don't want someone who will cry and break when you yell at me, if you don't want to deal with such a baby then maybe it's best if we don't continue this relationship"I say with my voice cracking throughout the long speech
"Y/n I love you for you,your not a burden I enjoy your company and I would never yell at you I want to continue this relationship I don't care if your broken or if you come with baggage because I can handle it and,and if you need reassurance I will gladly give it to you never forget that I love you okay?"he explained in a soft tone before kissing my head
"I love you to, and thank you for telling me that I needed to hear it"I smile at him
"Now go get cleaned up and get yourself looking pwertty okay?"he says in a sassy tone at the end I laugh while nodding before heading upstairs and doing my duties,getting dressed then getting my dress for the ball

I did my hair then I go downstairs to see john sitting down reading when isn't he reading
"John my love I'm ready"I yell coming down the stairs he looks up closing the book while standing up
"You look gorgeous"he walks over and peck me on the cheek
~a few minutes later~
Me and John are walking hand in hand to The Schuyler Sisters house
"John do you plan on joining the revolution?"I asked looking up at him
He sighs before answering
"Yes y/n, I do"he gives me a sad look
"John, im proud of you for wanting to end slavery but what if I lose you in the process I would never forgive myself for letting you go"I gulped he gives my hand a reassuring squeeze
"Y/n your never gonna lose me I promise"he said
"But what if I do, John your the only man that's loved me!"I say full of worry
"Trust me there's plenty more man that love you I'm sure of it,however you never losing me and if you do then you move on,get married,have children, live life,I'm not leaving for the war yet you still have a few more months before Okay?"he added to his previous sentence
"Okay, im sorry i worry a lot"I mumbled at the last bit suddenly John stops making me stop I look up and see we're here me and him walk up the brick steps still hand in hand I knock on the door we here a muffled
"I'm coming" then shortly after Peggy opened the door I turn to John
"I'll see you at the ball, I love you mon prince" I kiss him
"I love you to ma princesse"he says before letting go of my hand and leaving i pout as he disappears from my view suddenly Peggy pulls me in
"Peggy!"I say startled
"Sorry!you were taking forever but you guys are cute"she gushed
"Ahh,stop let's go get ready for the ball"I say my face turning a light pink shade she pulls me into a room where Angelica and Eliza are sitting on the bed
"Oh finally your here we can start to get ready"Eliza stood up and walked over to the closet and grabbed the dresses they bought yesterday
"Let's get ready shall we"Angelica giggles
"We shall"Me, Peggy, and Eliza said in unison
~a few hours later~
Me and the girls were dressed almost ready it was 7:10 the ball starts at 8
Eliza was fixing her hair,Angelica was adding some final touches to her makeup, Peggy was putting water in her hair to make her curls look more nicer, I was putting on my shoes when we heard a knock at the room door
"Who is it?"Angelica called out
"It's your father, the carriage is here
The girls got up and started to clean when we got downstairs Mr.Schuyler was no where to be seen
"Where's father?"Peggy asked in a disappointing tone
Angelica gave her a sympathetic look
"Peggy he's in his office working you know this, know come on the carriage awaits us"Angelica grabbed Peggy and Elizas hand while Eliza grabbed mine we made our way outside into the carriage
~at the ball~
We got out of the carriage thanked the driver then walked to the door waiting to be announced there was a man standing waiting to have our names so guy could announce it the music was loud
"May I have your names ladies?"the guy said formally
"Angelica Schuyler"the man nods and sends her to the front
"Elizabeth Schuyler"the man then sends her behind Angelica
"Peggy Schuyler"Peggy takes her place behind her sisters
"And you miss?"the man turns to me
"Oh!um Y/n Monet" I smile then stand behind the girls I heard the sound of a horn go off the music stops and and so did all the chattering

I walk in and do my curtsy then go into the crowd the horn goes off again and then the music returns as well as the chattering I head over to the drinks to see Laffeyette,Hercules, And Alexander I walk over
"Hello! Have you guys seen John?"
"mademoiselle y/n, John was just looking for you,I can go get him just wait here with herc and Alex"he pats my shoulder then walks away going to find John
"Alexander how've you been"I asked him while pouring myself some water
"I've been good"he was about to say something but he stops himself
"How do you know the Schuyler Sisters?"
"My father was friends with their father and we ran into each other on my way to the pub"I Nudge him with my elbow before speaking again
"Which one do you have your eye on"I gave a sly smirk
"Wha- what I- I don't have my eye on any of them"he mumbles something after saying that
"What was that?"I lean my head a little closer to hear he laughs then walks off
"HEYYY HERC"I yell even if he was not even five feet away He chuckles
"Your strange kid, realll strange"
"Kid! Your like a year old than me!"
"Well I'm gonna get going before you kill me"he runs away after saying that while leaving me standing there staring at the ground shortly after Laffayette comes back with John I look up put my water down and run to John hugging him he was surprised but then he hugged back Laffayette was laughing
"I see someone missed me!"John joked
"I did,I really did"I pull away and smile at him he looks at me up and down
"You look amazing!"
"Thank you, you look handsome"I wrap my hands around his neck We look into each other's eyes until we hear someone cough We turn and see Laff Me and John burst out laughing
"I'm sorry laff" John apologizes but grabs me hand Eliza comes over holding Angelicas hand
"Can I borrow y/n for a second"she grabs my hand and starts to walk away with me and Angelica "thanks!"
Eliza yells I turn back to see a confused laffayette and John "I'll be back"I yell we head to the empty balcony She takes us to the edge then faces us
"Do you guys know Alexander Hamilton?"she asks she looks lovestruck
"Uhm yea, John and him are planning on joining the revolution together"I say kinda sadly at the thought of John joining the revolution
"Okay number one, Johns joining the revolution? And number to i like Alexander his eyes are so dreamy I can get lost in them"
No wonder Eliza looks love sick that's because she is
"Awww Eliza" I hugged her Angelica ran into the ball room me and Eliza followed we walk in and see Angelica making her way over to John, Alexander,laffayette and herc Eliza starts to freak out
"Oh my god, oh my god, ohhh my goddd"she started pacing back and fourth i turn to face her
"Eliza it's okay"I turn back and see Angelica talking to Alexander I guess Eliza noticed I was looking so she looked to and that's when Alexander looked straight at her soon after Angelica brings Alexander over Eliza looked so helpless when Alexander and Angelica reach us
"Good luck"i pat Eliza on the back then excuse myself from the conversation and make my way over to John
"N/n" John comes up and grabs my hand
"N/n thats new" i chuckle
"Do you wanna go to the balcony I have something- well I have two things to tell you"
"Okay, let's go"he leads me outside we Sit down on the bench admiring the stars in silence
"Y/n?" He turns to me
"Yea?"I turn to him
"Okay i have good news and bad news"my eyes widen at the thought of the bad news
"Good news first please?"I ask
"Okay, y/n i love you a lot and I want you to be my girlfriend?" His palms were sweaty as was his forehead
"Yes!! I love you to!"I squeal which makes him laugh
"Now sorry to be a party pooper but I have to tell you the bad news now"he grabs both of my hands as my smile fades
"Go ahead"
"Your dads here"john says kind of scared at the thought
"I.." he cuts me off
"As well as your mom" he gives my hand a reassuring squeeze My heart drops and at that a tear slides out
"Don't let them take me please promise they aren't going to take me promise!"I begged him
"N/n, I promise they aren't gonna get anywhere near you"he pulls me into a hug surprisingly I didn't cry,probably because I didn't have any left we pulled away
Always be by one of us either me,Laffayette,herc,Alexander,Angelica,Eliza,Peggy I know you can probably defend yourself but I want to make sure okay?"I giggle at his tactics to keep me safe
"I got it,anything else?"I lay my head on his shoulder
"Nothing we should probably head back I wanna get a dance in before the nights done"he stands up holding his hand out for me to take
I grab it and stand up we head inside we start dancing and we dance and dance until my feet start to hurt My thoughts of my parents were gone that was until I saw my mom and dad looking right at me I looked at the clock it was 11:40 the ball was about to end I told John and he agreed to leave we said bye to everybody then went into the carriage
"Are you alright my love?"John asked caressing my cheek
"Yea just a little shaken up,but I had fun"I grab his hand and look at him
"Eliza looked like she was having fun with Alex!"we both giggle at his comment
~at the house~
We hop out the carriage and go into the house
Me and John sit on the couch cuddling eachother
