The girl caught in amber

In the middle of the dusty Dragon King's library, Sienna stared at the girl in the amber crystal; she had a beautiful face with closed eyes, and long eyelashes, her long golden hair was spread like a waterfall around her and her skin was as white as Sienna's own. She looked strikingly similar but slightly younger. Another difference was that this girl had a beauty mark on her left temple and seemed slimmer built than Sienna. She looked ethereal and fragile.

The Dragon King looked at Sienna and then at the girl in the crystal.

"Sorcha is her name, it means bright. "he finally said." She was my dear daughter-in-law till she got trapped inside. My son, the Dragon Prince, was injured in the battle and dying. This crystal was holding a potion with the life force and because she couldn't bear to let him die, she took the bottle and fed it to my son, then the wind of white air swooped through the castle and she was pulled inside this amber." The Dragon King said with sad eyes and looked at Sienna.

"My son got crazy over losing her, I had to chain him inside this castle to prevent him from destroying everything, only the hope she might get out one day is keeping him alive," he said hardly containing his sadness.

"Is she still alive?"Sienna watched the pretty girl pitifully.

"She is frozen in time. I placed the travelling crystals on many planets to try to find the one who would free her. It brought you..." he laughed sorrowfully. The pity is that you probably get stuck there instead of her." He grimaced his face uncomfortably." I do kind of like you, but it is the price I'm willing to pay." He bit his lips.

"I heard that before!"Sienna nodded." I'm glad you don't dislike me," she looked at him gently." I do love to help her, but I have my mates to care of as well, so the best option will be, if we both can come out." she touched his strong arm trying to comfort him. " You know one of my mates is a Crystal Scorpion, he can order crystals around, and they reveal everything to him! I'm sure he can get Sorcha out! "Sienna smiled at the King encouragingly."Let me write him a letter and he will come to help us and free her, hm? "Sienna asked excitedly. She was sure Sarcos could do it!

"The prophecy said only a gold-haired female with blue eyes can do it. Change one for another!"The King bit his lips.

"Well, I'm sure Sarcos will know how to get both of us out."Sienna smiled."Don't you want to have a happy family again?" she asked.

"Yes, I do want my son to be happy."The King nodded.

"What about your mate, his mother, will she be not happy too?"Sienna asked curiously.

"She would be if she lived." he noted." But like this, I'm glad she doesn't need to watch out son wither away."

"Oh, I'm so sorry," Sienna said caringly, "What happened to her?"

"I was too proud." he bit his lips.

"And?"Sienna furrowed her brows."Her mates were proud too but she lived.

"I ...she died giving life to my son," he noted painfully.

"Aww, that is so sad." she looked at him with tears in her eyes. She could feel his sadness and it affected her.

"It was long ago. No need to cry now."He shook his head at Sienna trying to be tough as before.

"Well, I will be happy if I can help you to free your daughter-in-law then. At least your son can be happy and it will make you feel better too."She looked at him sweetly.

"I'm fine."He rasped.

"Ahm, sure." she looked at him a little sarcastically." You will be fine when you got them both back." she pressed his shoulder friendly."So let's hurry up and send for my King Sarcos!"Sienna smiled at him encouragingly.

"Do you think he will help you to run away?" he looked at her a little suspiciously. She was way too eager to call Sarcos!

"No, of course not, "Sienna looked at him with furrowed brows." I feel so sorry for her to be trapped, she is surely lovely and deserves to live."She shook her head gently.

"Hm, I heard that you are kind." he noted thinking."Do you swear you will do everything to get her out? Whatever will Sarcos tell you will work?" he looked at her suspiciously.

"You have my word of the Queen."Sienna said seriously." My King Sarcos can do amazing things, he is the best person to get her out safely. Please let me try to help you as best as I can."Sienna said excitedly...She knew Sarcos would be able to do something and she wanted to motivate the King...

"Ok, write him a letter, "he finally nodded...

"Great, so do you have a paper in here?" Sienna asked ready to start saving the girl.

"A lot of paper."Thunder just picked a book and ripped the second almost empty page from it. She was distracting him with her excited good mood so he was getting rough, feeling the void inside of him even more...

"Barbarian!"Sienna bit her lips as she watched him blow the dust off it and look for ink and pen in his library table drawer...

The ink was half dry, so he just spit in it to make it more liquid! Sienna's stomach turned a little as she took the pen from him carefully...

"It is ok, I will clean the pen," she rather took it from his hand and wiped it on her sleeve...She did not want more of his body liquids next to her!

"I'm so ashamed of you...The dragon started to groan in the King's head.. your behaviour is unacceptable! Your manners are more run down than our castle. I would cry if I had any tears left..." he shook his head in disbelief."The peasants have better manners..."

"Shush...I did listen to your advice so be happy and let me think..."The King growled back into his mind as he watched Sienna write extremely carefully with his spit ink.

"Well, still better than writing with my blood.."Sienna was sighting and tried not to breathe much in the dusty room. The table was disgusting and she felt as if she almost stuck to the chair..." But whatever I will have to do, to save my life and help this crazy King..." she thought..."I need Sarcos and a bath," she thought as she finished writing and gave her letter to Thunder to read automatically. She knew he already read it from behind her back but she tried to make it as a gesture of transparency.

"Thank you, Sienna," he said and read it again with his eyes:

"My dearest Scorpion King,

 I'm in Dragon King's Castle. The King needs my help to free a girl from the huge amber, she got stuck there after taking a life force potion, can you please find some solution, on how I can help her out and not get stuck in the crystal as well? Please, come and bring me a bar of soap and a new dress.

Love you loads, your Sienna.

Sienna did not press her lips on the letter because the page was too gross!

The King finished reading the letter and gave it back to Sienna to fold.

"Why do you need the soap and a new dress, is it a code?" he asked her a little suspiciously...

"No, I'm really dusty and I was not too sure about your herb concoctions in the bathroom. You will need to explain it to me..."Sienna said with an innocent smile and gave him the neatly folded letter.

"Aha.." The King nodded and his dragon wished to die on the spot. This was so embarrassing!

The King whistled from the open window and the young strong black dragon passed by. Thunder gave him the folded letter. "Give it to King Sarcos from Sand City and bring him here as a guest," he ordered him.

The dragon nodded and left. Sienna watched the glimpse of the young dragon in awe. He was so beautiful, even not so strong as the King's one.

The Dragon King looked at Sienna's excited face from seeing another dragon so close and he felt a bit jealous suddenly. Well, his dragon was for sure!"Do not parade your servants in front of her like this." he scoffed."I want to be the one she admires!" he growled in his mind upset.

"Shush, she has mates already."Thunder shook his head thinking. "You know I do not like to share."

"You do not like anyone!" his dragon hissed disappointed.

"Well, let's see if she can help me to get Sorcha out, she might still die."Thunder shushed the dragon.

"I gave you a promise and I intend to keep it!"The dragon said coldly."Do not provoke me!"

Meanwhile, Sienna was watching as the young black dragon flew away from the wide open window till the King sobered up and pulled her away from it.

"Do not get sick," he said roughly.

"Do not worry," she smiled."Your castle is quite warm." she nodded."And stiff!" she bit her lips."If this mess will not avalanche me, I will make it out just fine." she smiled sweetely.

"Do you trust in Scorpion King that much?" he studied her sunny face."He would be not able to take you from here by force," he noted proudly. Thunder had to point out his strength at least because she kept insulting him with her comments...

"That's not my intention," she said," I really like to help you out, my Scorpion King has extensive knowledge of crystals, potions and magic," she said."I trust him with my life. I love him, he is my mate."She smiled softly at the memory of Sarcos and Thunder felt the sweetness seeping from her. It was unnerving to him!

"Ahm, come, let's visit my son," the King said. He was visiting him every day after his time in the library.

Sienna nodded and followed the King inside big corridors, there was a huge room underground, almost like a dungeon...It was warm and cold at the same time. Sienna found the place deserted and scary, but it was clean! There was a young man chained by his ankle. He looked around 20 years old. He was holding his head in pain and not moving at all.

"Son, "said the King," I brought Queen Sienna to help Sorcha out, "he added but the young man did not move! "Dagen, my son!" the King shouted.

The young prince awoke from his daze, looked at Sienna and ran forward to her, he leapt and started changing into the black dragon but the chain on his feet was holding him down. He stood up and gazed at her, she reminded him so much of the girl he loved... He felt like he almost saw her. His eyes were madly sad.

"I will help you, my Prince," said Sienna gently..." I will do my best to get her out," she whispered as he locked his golden-brown eyes with hers.

"Try not to burn like the others! It would be to no good then father! Will it!!!"The Prince shouted and kicked the walls crazily.

Sienna looked at the Dragon King but his face was cold," Have no worries, we will wait for your mate, he should be here tomorrow morning. Come have something to eat and rest."Thunder pulled her out of the dungeon quickly. Sienna thought he had a hard time watching his son to be crazy too...

Thunder led Sienna into a big dining room. There was a long sturdy wooden table with food on it. Sienna felt her stomach was excited. She was really hungry!

"What do you like to eat?" the King asked.

"Rice, buns or fruit?" Sienna replied carefully.

"Sure.What about potatoes? I know your people like it." he asked.

"You have potatoes? "Sienna opened he mouth in surprise, with salt and butter?"

"Sure..." he chuckled.

"Yes, yes, please," Sienna nodded excitedly. Potatoes were great because they were boiled in water with their skin on, so Sienna was kind of sure they would be clean to eat and the butter was white so everything was visible on it.

The King sat her down at the big table and he sat opposite to her. He watched as Sienna placed some whole-boiled hot potatoes on her plate with a little butter and salt. She was peeling them carefully and the Black Dragon smiled in King's mind." The little Queen got so excited about the potatoes!"

"Why are you peeling them so slowly?" he looked at her curiously. All the other females were eating quite fast before.

"Well, they are hot."Sienna smiled."You want to help me if you are asking?" she looked at him curiously.

"Do you need help?" he growled confused.

"No, I will take my time. I do not want to burn my fingers."She smiled gently at him, but there was a strength in her tiger-like eyes. She did not like when someone rushed her.

"Sure, "he noted and try not to look at her. She made him feel weird again.

"Thank you, my King," Sienna nodded her head elegantly.

Thunder nodded and felt satisfied suddenly, that she was not so distant from him anymore...She was like an emotional rollercoaster for him, given his constant sadness and desperation.

He kind of felt closer to her now, because she talked to him as to an equal and smiled gently. He could feel her caring exciting energy and it kind of started to fill the void. Even though he was still gloomy she made him feel as if the end of his suffering was close, like she had an easy solution to fix his broken life...

Sienna glanced at the King thinking..."Is he not the one Sarcos was so worried about? He said he scattered the crystals. Will he try to kill me? His son said burned as others..."Sienna thought but did not feel scared. She trusted in Sarcos with all her being and that made her feel at ease...

"Tell me more about the crystals, Thunder," Sienna smiled, "I understand that I'm here thanks to you. Did you visit my world often?" she asked.

"Sometimes. In past times dragons used crystals to come to pick females from there."The King said to her thinking. He was watching her eat and it was somehow weirdly relaxing to him."Why do you think you have so many dragon stories in your world?" he asked.

"But why do you take mostly Princesses?"Sienna asked thinking.

"They were considered better quality, they had longer hair, softer skin, mostly single anyway," he said as if it was not a big deal. Well, it was surely normal for him!!!

"What about knights rescuing them?"Sienna asked curiously.

"Well, sometimes they were rescued here or they convinced the warrior to come back. That is why there is always a rich Prince from far away..."Thunder nodded."But they took any nice females, just from peasants nobody made a big deal or a legend." he added.

"But what about those who eat people?"Sienna asked unsure. She read a lot of different myths and folk ancient fairytales and some of them were brutal.

"Well, we sent you some savage ones too. We hoped you cure them." he nodded seriously.

"We could?"Sienna asked gobsmacked.

"Some got cured, some killed."Thunder nodded."You used to have great wizards in your world before, but later on, your knights just started killing them all so we stopped sending them..." he shook his shoulders nonchalantly.

"So how did you come and go back?"Sienna asked curiously. This was amazing!

"They used the crystals to travel in and out."He noted.

"So, you have crystals, which can send me back?" Sienna opened her eyes wide.

"Do you want to leave?" he asked seriously.

"No, I like it here, with my Kings. I'm glad to be here."Sienna smiled softly.

"Sure."Thunder nodded and pushed a big bowl of potatoes for her to eat some more. "She is so cute when she eats!" His dragon was purring satisfied...
