{Saeko's POV after going through the wall}
This was it. This was what I wanted when I heard of becoming a Werewolf. An army of monsters, my sister mates following me as I ran towards an army of Grimm, and a Titan. A clear enemy, the chance to run rampant and kill as much as my heart desired. This was what I initially chose to live for. The feeling of the wind whipping against my face, the adrenaline that began pumping in my veins, this was truly a good world to start in.
I didn't pay any mind to the rest of Atlas, the people, or even the machines. My focus stayed on the incoming army, and outside of them, my sister mates or my lord, there was nothing else that mattered. Speaking of them, I heard Saya calling to me, and decided I should pay attention to her. She WAS our strategist after all.
"Saeko, slow down!" Hm, very well. I slowed down, and let my sister mates catch up to me. I'd made it out of Atlas' bounds, and was facing the incoming army. When they caught up, we all stood side by side, and looked at them. Rika whistled, Shizuka hummed, and Saya just narrowed her eyes at the Grimm. I could tell she was thinking about them, and after a second of surveying the area, she started tapping her chin.
"Safe to assume there's a few thousand of them left at the bare minimum. The Beowolves are nothing for us to worry about, unless we went braindead, we can ignore them. Those Ursa-Major might end up being annoying, so ignore them and let the Atlesian military handle them. We'll let Ironwood deal with the fodder. Rika, I want you to focus on the... Thousand something? Manticores, Teryx and Sphinx. That small bit of Razorwings, the absurd amount of Nevermore, especially the bigger ones. Though you can ignore the normal ones... Unless they come for you, then blast them to hell.-"
"Gotcha Saya. Time to make Triple Tap earn her name." Rika went off, and went up to the nearest wall to begin setting up. She might've had her job cut out for her, considering Atlas just had an obscene amount of aerial Grimm to fight, but it would be fine. With my lord's order, she could use her 'Gate of Babylon' as he called it, and thin out the numbers until the military lent their assistance.
"- There are... A minimum of a hundred Megoliaths. Shizuka? Wanna go play with some mammoths?" With that said, Shizuka seemed to vibrate in joy.
"Dumbo! I'll teach them how to fly Saya." She was about to run off, but Saya grabbed her by the scruff of her neck, and kept her there.
"Wait for when I'm done."
"Aw... Ok." That was amusing, but I could comment on it later.
"For now, we'll focus on the army, and ignore the Titan. But make sure to avoid anything like an elemental attack thrown your way. You both got me?" Shizuka and I nodded, and she looked back to the army of Grimm. "Saeko." I perked up. "There are a bunch of Sabyrs leading the charge. Cut them down." I grinned. I'd hunted down a few of them, and found them to be one of my favorite kinds of Grimm to hunt.
"Very well. What will you be doing Saya?" The way she raised her brow, and gave me her 'are you stupid' look made me smile. She WAS my keeper after all. And she NEVER stayed behind when we fought as a group. "Nevermind. Lets go then. We have a hunt to end after all." She smiled, and let Shizuka go. We all shared a look, and nodded. My lord may not be here, but we were still a pack. We had each others back.
With us at an understanding, we heard Rika fire, and we moved. Saya and I shifted and started to run towards the army. Shizuka didn't have anything to strap Boomstick too, so she ran normally towards the Megoliaths. But as I ran towards the Grimm, I could still feel no fear. I felt excited. (If there was ever a hell, then this may seem like it. And here we are. Running into it with my sister mates and bestfriends. Truly, becoming a Werewolf was the best day of my life.)
Saya barked at me, freeing me from my thoughts, and I hummed. We could understand each other in our wolf forms, and she was basically telling me to 'stop thinking useless thoughts.' Saya could read me the best outside of my lord, and again, she was right. It wasn't the time for thinking, it was time to hunt.
We ran towards the army, and my first prey made themselves known. A group of five Sabyrs had turned to me, and I grinned. We charged at each other, and as we got close, I jumped and began to roll. With a thought, I shifted back, grabbed my blade, and swung down towards the nearest Sabyr. Said Grimm met my blade with its armored maw, and I grinned as my feet touched the ground. (A small bit thicker then the usual. No matter, lets play!)
I kicked the Sabyr's chin, forcing it to release my blade, and flipped back when another two of them jumped at me from my sides. When I landed, I took in the five Grimm in front of me, and I couldn't help but lick my lips as I saw them get into formation. The biggest of the five took center, and the other four split off to my sides. (One verses five? I like these odds. But perhaps someone else doesn't.) And as I thought that, I heard Saya bark again. 'Duck.'
So I did. And in came my first bestfriend. Saya flew over me, shifted, and grabbed her weapon. In moments, I saw it change into its shotgun configuration, and watched her point it to the head of the leader. This happened too quickly for the leader to respond, and it tasted an aura shot that blew its head off. The recoil sent Saya back, and she landed by my side. We met the others gaze, and she said a single word. "Left."
"Very well." I ran to the duo to my left, and coated my blade in aura. Both Sabyrs met my charge, and I spun to avoid one while I slashed another across its side. My blade sank into its flesh, and I could feel my semblance activate. The injured Sabyr yowled in pain, and I drank it in. I turned to face them, as I re-sheathed my blade, and waited for them. Saya had worked on my(Read Adam's) sheathe, and now it could work with MY speed. I grinned in anticipation, and watched both of them jump towards me.
When they got within my range, I activated it, and with the sound of a canon, my blade flashed as if it were lightning, and I cut through both Grimm. As they split and flew passed me, I licked my lips as they turned into ash. "Tch. Always so theatrical." I chuckled at Saya, who had just broken the skull of her last Sabyr with her whip. The Grimm turned to ash, and she looked at me.
"It just goes to show, violence is an art form. My lord DID say 'we dance a bloody dance of war and violence' after all." Saya scoffed, and we both turned to face the rest of the army. Those Sabyr's were the advanced party, and there were atleast another thirty trailing behind them. The various packs of Beowolves behind them weren't even worth mentioning. Then I had an idea. "Say Saya."
"Yeah?" I could tell she already had an inkling about what I wanted. She didn't seem opposed to the idea, so I finished the question.
"Contest?" She snorted at that, but she was still smirking anyway.
"What do I win?" Really now? Her confidence was amusing.
"If you're so sure you'll win, then how about the loser has to do ANYTHING the winner wants." Saya kept her smirk as she looked at me, and I smirked back.
"I'm in. By the way, I'm already in the lead then." Ah, that was true.
"Then I'll need to do my best to catch up." She kept the smirk, and we ran in together at an unspoken signal. "I'll be taking the left again."
"Whatever. Try to keep up you crazy bitch."
"Technically, we are BOTH bitches." Saya snorted, but didn't deny it. I laughed, and we ran in together.
Saya had coated her whip in aura, and not to be outdone, I did the same. When we got in range, we both pulled our weapons back, and swung towards the Grimm in front of us. A pair of purple and pink aura slashes flew off of our weapons, and the first Grimm that took them were killed without a moment to avoid them. From the look of it, we had the same amount from that.
"It seems we've tied with that. Be sure to remember you agreed to this when I win."
"Sure. I'll remember to rub it in your face when I win." We charged towards the remaining Sabyrs, and started our dance. Saya and I were the most competitive of our bunch, but it was all in good fun. Speaking of fun, there were more Grimm to kill. And as I tore into another Grimm, feeling my semblance activate, I couldn't help but shudder at how satisfying it was to hear a monster made of darkness scream in pain.
A pack of six Beowolves jumped towards me, but I just licked my lips at them. "Come, face your death." And with that, I enhanced my arm with aura, and slashed at them as fast as I could in my normal form. My blade cut through them all like they were made of butter, and it was so SATISFYING.
"Can you not moan like that? I'm trying to focus on the army of literal hellspawn. You moaning does not help with that." I rolled my eyes at that. I might not have realized I moaned, but I could still use that against her.
"Oh now you don't like hearing me moan. You wound me Saya." She cracked her whip a little harder against the Sabyr, but that was both mildly amusing and arousing.
"Can we not talk about sex during a fight?"
"But Saya, this is almost the next best thing."
"Ugh. I don't kn...- Fire Incoming!" I saw the flames coming from the corner of my eye, and pushed my speed a little higher to avoid it. Saya came out unscathed as well, and we went back to our 'partners.' "Another wave?" Hm...
"Sure." We both jumped back, and just like before, we coated our weapons in aura, and swung another wave of aura towards the Sabyrs, the packs of Beowolves that caught up, and the couple of Ursa behind them. Hm... "I seem to have four over you now Saya. What was it you said earlier? Oh that's right. Be sure to keep up."
"UGH! FUCKING CRAZY BITCH!" I laughed and ran towards the nearest Grimm, Saya hot on my heels, and began to cut a path through them. Though I was tad bit sad that Rika had shot a Manticore diving towards me, I wanted to hear it scream.
{Rika's POV}
"Still don't get why there's so many flying fuckers native here. I mean, come on. Manticores, Teryx, Razorwing and Sphinx oh my. And again, why the fuck do some of them breath fucking FIRE?!" I shot a Manticore that looked like it would do just that, and smirked when the bastard crashed into another one of its kind before turning to ash. So far, things looked fine. Triple tap was doing great, and I managed to control how many fliers there were around the other girls.
Speaking of, I spared a glance to Saya and Saeko, who just started running towards another bunch of those Saber Tooth Tiger ripoffs, and hummed. "You'd think two girls would hesitate before diving into an army of darkness monsters, but nooo... Wait... Where's Shizuka?" I scanned the rest of the area, and eventually fo...- "Did she just smack a mammoth into two others like a weird game of game of pinball?"
"YES!" Oh yeah... Werewolf senses. Way better then a headset.
"WELL TRY NOT TO GET FLATTENED OVER THERE SHIZUKA!" Another mammoth tried to hit her with its trunk, but she caught it, squeezed the damn thing, and made the mammoth scream in pain before she yanked it towards her.
"KAY!" And then she smashed her fuck off stick into it with her free hand. The poor bastard got his skull caved in before dying. Oh well. I went prone again, looked through my scope, which I didn't really need because again, Werewolf eyesight was awesome, and started aiming at my next target. There were still thousands of fliers, but the vast majority of them were small to medium sized Nevermore. From what I was seeing there were maybe less then two thousand actual threats in the air, and the rest were easy to ignore. (I wonder when 'less then two thousand' became non threatening in my mind.)
Then there was that Titan. The turtle was too far away to actually be in the fight, for now, so it was easier to focus on the other Grimm. Shizuka could deal with the heavy hitters, Saeko and Saya would deal with the faster ground forces, and I would deal with the fliers. (For four people, we're kind of fucking dangerous... Though I'm a little suspicious at the fact that the girls are starting to get focused on.) Which was true. For some reason, the literal army had been sending out more stragglers at the girls, started to slow down, and were... Forming up? Then I blinked.
"THEY'RE GETTING IN FORMATIONS! LOOK ALIVE GIRLS!" A pair of massive Nevermore were flying in front of four Manticores and a pair of those raptor dragon Grimm, blocking me from getting a good angle at their heads. But that was fine. (Didn't name this girl Triple Tap for nothing.) I let my aura flow through her, and when I felt she was loaded, I pulled the trigger. One shot flew out, and I squeezed again, another shot, and then again, my third shot in under a second.
The first shot hit a Nevermore, the second hit a Manticore, with a little trouble since the Nevermore hadn't turned to ash yet, then the third made sure that Manticore was dead. I just had to whistle at that. "Oh yeah. I love this thing." The Grimm didn't though, and the other big fucking Nevermore started sending feathers at me. I rolled, changing Triple Tap into its spear form, to move it easier, and re-positioned myself to stand.
The Nevermore and the Grimm behind it were getting closer, and I saw the raptor ones break off and move over to Shizuka. "Oh hell no." I changed Triple Tap back to a sniper, dropped to a knee, and aimed at them. When I had the shot, I fired all three again, hitting the first one in the head, and the other one in its wings. That lucky guy started crashing to the ground, and was unlucky enough to be noticed by Shizuka.
From where I was, I could see Shizuka grip Boomstick with both hands, and do a fucking golf swing on the raptors face. "TOUCHDOWN!" I could swear I heard the crunch from here. The thing went flying into another one of those Megoliaths, and the big guy fucking fell over.
"Ok. That's fucking hilarious. WRONG SPORT BY THE WAY!" Another volley of feathers reminded me I couldn't watch anymore. (I mean, I can... Fuck it, why not?) I started pushing my aura out, and decided to go for fifteen, cause that was a nice number, and started forming my 'Gate of Babylon.' (He still has to show me what the fuck that's from.) Silver told us it was a reference, but didn't have any way to show us of WHAT.
That thought aside, I charged up my shots, aimed at the Grimm, and felt my semblance switch on. 'Targets' formed on the Grimm's heads, and I grinned. "HEADSHOT!" My 'bullets' shot off like they were from Triple Tap, and found their marks. All headshots. (Best fucking thing ever. I'll need to kiss Silver for this again later.) My semblance 'Deadshot' was simple. I mark targets, and my next hit is a guaranteed hit to wherever the 'target' is.. Unless they hid behind something that blocked them, or destroyed the shots..
"Simple, but fun. Kinda like Saeko's now that I say it aloud... Eh, whatever."
With those fliers done, I had some breathing room, and could watch Shizuka wreck some more mammoths. Though I could only watch for a few more seconds, since I heard the whirring of Atlesian knights, a few bullheads, and the sounds of boots hitting the ground. I turned to the sounds, and saw Winter, the Ace ops, a bunch of soldiers, and other military personnel coming up. "Huh, that was fast."
They kept coming, but I just turned back to the rest of my girlfriends/sister mates. Saeko and Saya had gotten closer to the wall, despite Saeko's protesting to go 'finish dancing' with the Grimm. That only left Shizuka. Saya realized that, and looked up to me, our eyes met, and I got the message. "SHIZUKA! FALL BACK TO THE WALL REAL QUICK!"
She smashed an Ursa into dust, and looked over to us. "COMING!" Watching Shizuka smash a poor Beowolf into the ground was both hilarious, and sad... For the Beowolf I mean. Shizuka was a force of nature now, kinda like a tornado, and it was great.
But other then that, this was all awesome. Sure the army of demonic monsters that either looked like animals or dinosaurs were a little weird, but this was worth it. I might've said reasons like 'not sagging' or 'still looking like the hot piece of ass that I was' as my go too reasons, and infinite ammo, to being a Werewolf, but there was more to it.
I always made sure me and mines were safe. Anyone under my command would be protected. They'd see any op we went out through, life and limb intact. But I always had the softest spot in my heart for Shizuka. Sure she could sort of handle herself, but I worried for her.
But now?
Shizuka could punt anyone that tried touching her into orbit. But even still, I liked to watch over her. And it wasn't just her or my old unit anymore. The rest of the girls were under Silver and my protection. And I'd watch over them. But back to the now.
With Shizuka back with us, they met up with Winter, and started planning... But they weren't the only ones planning. The Grimm stopped advancing, and they were still forming up. The Titan was still too far to contribu...- "MOTHERFUCKER!" I could tell everyone turned to me, but I didn't care. That Titan was doing the same shit the Dragon was doing. "WE GOTTA MOB SPAWNER ON OUR HANDS GIRLS!" They all, Atlesian guys too, reacted to that.
"SHIT!"
{Saya's POV}
"SHIT!" (Of course it's a spawner, why wouldn't it be?) The Titan was essentially a mobile fortress. A very VERY slow one mind you, but still one nonetheless. Its shell was covered in spikes, its legs and head were armored, and it even had this club like tail that would probably smash a bullhead to smithereens with ease. (And now they're finishing up their formations. GREAT! A line of... Two hundred? Megoliaths taking the front, probably because they're the closest to tanks they can get. Four Sabyrs and Razorwings per Megoliath, three Manticores, two Teryx, and medium sized Nevermore supporting each of them with a Sphinx and five smalls ones under them. Then there's the ten Beowolves and Ursa under THOSE units... Ugh, this is going to be annoying.
We can probably deal with this easier by going into our Werewolf forms, Zaka's order should help us all hold it for an hour at the very least, unless we decide to be stupid and spam aura attacks. But then there's the Titan to consider. Aside from spawning Grimm, we don't know what else it could do. We need to focus on the Megoliaths first. With their tanks down, the rest of their ground forces will crumble. Rika can handle their air forces, especially now that we're getting some backup. Looks like Saeko, Shizuka and I are going to need to team up. We'll cover her as she deals with the Megoliath's, Rika and the Atlesian military will cover our heads, then we'll work together and focus the Titan after destroying them.)
With the plan formed, I turned to Winter, and gave her an order. "Have the knights and Ace ops focus on the Beowolves, Ursa and smaller Nevermore. Rika's got the other fliers, but make sure she has support. Shizuka, Saeko and I are going to deal with their front line." Winter probably wasn't expecting me to go from cursing one moment to giving her orders in the next. Because it WAS moments, despite not having found my semblance, my thoughts were only getting faster as time went by. But then again, I was a genius, so it was expected of me to only get better as time passed.
"Understood." With her orders given, Winter turned to the aforementioned Ace ops, and started ordering them and the knights. As she did, I turned to Saeko and Shizuka, and I didn't even need to speak. Even though I was in my lab for most of the time, I still went out with the girls to hunt, to spend time with them, and our months of experience with each other helped us get rid of the need to speak sometimes.
We just knew each other. And even if I wouldn't say it, I loved the feeling of knowing there were people that would understand me without needing to say a single word.
With the girls knowing what we had to do, Saeko grinned, and led the charge. Again. "BE SURE TO KEEP UP SAYA!" This bitch!
I ran after her, Shizuka by my side, and went to meet the army of monsters headfirst. But even this, this was another thing.
Another thing I loved.
I wasn't useless. I could do more then just plan. I could do more then just watch everyone fight. I could be there by everyone's sides, and raise hell with them. And I wouldn't look a day older then 17 unless I chose to do so, while I did it. Shizuka and Rika decided to stay as they were, Saeko wanted to look a little more mature, so she'd let her body age a bit more before stopping, and I decided to stay as I was unless I changed my mind later. (Best species ever.) I might've been biased when I thought that, but who cares?
We kept running, and when we were met by the first Megoliath and its support, I joined Saeko at the front. The Sabyrs and Beowolves came at the both of us, but we held them off as Shizuka jumped over us, and towards the Megoliath. "Boomstick go BOOM!" I had to stop myself from giggling at that, and focused on the way the afterburners flared to life as she SLAMMED into the Megoliath.
It didn't stand a chance. Its armor shattered, and its skull caved in before it turned to ash. But before Shizuka could land, I saw the Manticores start readying their fire breath. But that was fine. Because the moment they did, three shots rang out, and three Manticores turned to ash. (Damn, Ruby and I do good work. Hirano was onto something about guns being awesome.)
"THANKS RIKA!"
"YEAH YEAH, GET TO SMASHING SHIZUKA!"
"BUT WE'RE OUT IN THE OPEN!" Saeko laughed, I couldn't help the giggle that came out of me, and I could even hear Rika laughing back at the wall.
"YOU KNOW WHAT I MEANT!" Shizuka giggled at that, and went back to smacking things into oblivion. We learned something about Shizuka during our months back home. She wasn't as airheaded as she let herself come off as. Sure she WAS airheaded, but she was smart. She just chose to not use her intelligence most of the time, and preferred being the one friend that everyone loved.
But beneath that was someone that was able to become one of the best medics we had back home. She could still be an airhead, but she knew when to get serious, and a serious Shizuka was someone that did more then order us around when we had sex. Even now, I would find Shizuka reading up on Grimm and Faunus biology, known diseases, parasites, and other contagions that were native to this world.
Sure they couldn't spread to us, but she still learned. And that was something I respected about the nurse turned sister mate. But I could think about those things later. I had a competition to win.
"SIX TERYX DIVING IN!" The three of us moved with Rika's call-out, and scattered. And just like she said, they dove into where we had just been, and split off into three pairs of two. I cracked Pionós against the ground, and watched as the Grimm started to circle me. They were joined in by Beowolves, Sabyr's, and a pa...- Rika dealt with the Nevermore, so that was fine.
"Come on, the big bad monsters scared of a single girl?" I knew Grimm couldn't understand words, but they could understand the TONE I spoke with. And it struck the Teryx, since they were a bit more prideful then the other Grimm here. The both of them started to run at me, from my left and right, and I grinned. "Idiots." I coated Pionós in my aura, adding serrated edges to both sides of it, and started to spin.
I picked up on spinning after fighting Saeko, and with my weapon, I could easily turn into a twister of pure pain. A fact the Teryx learned when they got too close, and caught the serrated edges of my pionós. Since I was an aura type, the edges I made were stronger, more durable, and easier to reinforce then what Saeko could do. Remnants aura just increased what I could do. The armor the Teryx had were nothing to me because of it.
"Oh my, how dangerous. Are you SURE you haven't gained my tendencies Saya?" My eye twitched, and I looked at Saeko from the corner of my eye, saw she was jumping off the back of a Teryx she just beheaded, sending an aura slash to the other one, and I created a copy of Rika's 'Gate of Babylon' to get rid of my weakened aggressors and the fodder. My aura bullets found their marks, and shredded the Grimm that tried to encircle me.
"I'm SURE! There's only room for one sadist in this harem, and it sure as hell isn't me. By the way, I'm in the lead again." Though I was pretty sure I was gaining SOME of those traits. Not that I'd ever admit it.
Saeko just giggled at my denial, and went back to cutting down the Grimm. A little faster though since she DID recognize I was in the lead again. She even started using her aura armor. "There's a competition? What're the prizes?" We both shared a look, and turned to see Shizuka swing Boomstick at an Ursa-Major, sending it flying into a pack of Beowolves.
"The prize is having the loser do whatever the winner wants. Would you like to join in Shizuka?" Uh oh. Shizuka started to shake in excitement, and seeing her 'innocent' grin and look in her eyes made me a little worried.
"REALLY!?" Oh yeah, we were screwed. But Saeko didn't care, and kept explaining.
"Yup. As it is, Saya is in the lead, only by five mind you. It's currently 63-68. Would you like to join in now Shizuka?"
"YES!"
"I'M JOINING THIS TOO! I'M IN THE LEAD BY THE WAY WITH 199...- 202 NOW! GET READY TO BE ON YOUR KNEES LATER GIRLS!" Shit!
"SAEKO! Look at what you've done!" Said crazy bitch just laughed even more, and dove headfirst into the next wave of Grimm... Then Shizuka followed after her... Oh god. "SAEKO! BACK!" She didn't question it, she back flipped over Shizuka, saw what I saw, and stayed still as she landed.
"Oh dear... I may not have thought this through." What were we seeing? Well Shizuka had decided to go into her Werewolf form, coated Boomstick in aura, and when she got close to the Grimm, she jumped, activated the afterburners, and rolled into a spin as she came down to the ground.
"BOOM GOES THE BOOMSTICK!" And a fucking BOMB went off. Saeko and I were blown back, but we landed on our feet, and saw the aftermath. It was like someone said 'Hey, what if we made a human sized missile?' Because that was what it was. Shizuka was like an explosive payload, and the CRATER she made was outright devastating. Shizuka stood up, looked around, then blinked. "RIKAAA? HOW MANY WAS THAT?"
"UHHH... ATLEAST 50! YOU HAD 43 ALREADY! YOU'RE COMING UP SECOND NOW!"
"WHAT?!" That was it. I went into my Werewolf form, and started running. I heard Saeko laugh behind me, saw she did the same, and we both ran passed Shizuka. (Gotta win gotta win gotta win!)
{Shizuka's POV}
Even if some of these Grimm looked a little intimidating, it was fun to hit them all with Boomstick. Even making the biggest bang I could, this was all just fun to me. I did miss the fact Silver wasn't here, but it was fine. The rest of us couldn't be coddled, despite how much I wouldn't mind staying with him everyday. Atlas was a little chilly, but Silver made it warm. (Hm... I wanna warm vacation. We haven't gone to the beach in a while... Heh, Silver in a swimsuit... Yummy.) That thought was VERY nice. So while Saeko and Saya ran passed me, I thought about it and started counting as I smashed another mammoth in the face.
Mammoths were weird. I KNEW about them, but I never thought I'd ever be turning them into ashy paste... (What would an ash paste even taste like? Would it be ashy? Or would it taste differently... That's so weird.)
"STAMPEDE INCOMING!" Rika brought me out of my weirder thoughts, and I looked over to the stampede. Sure I felt it, but I was thinking about the paste more then why the ground was shaking some more. There were... Fifteen? Seventeen? Mammoths charging towards us, and I saw Saeko run towards them and laugh. That seemed fun. I wanted in on that. So I ran with Boomstick at the ready!
When I got closer, Saya and I shared a look, and I smiled at her. "Have fun in last Sayaaa!" She let out this cute huff, and cracked Pionós against the ground as she ran after me and Saeko.
"Oh it is on Shizuka!" Saeko and I laughed, and we ran in together. Having the others I could trust here was something I loved.
Back home, it was a little lonely and hard to make friends outside of Rika. People thought they could use me. They thought I didn't realize who was being less then genuine, who was aiming for my body, who was looking to exploit me.
But I did. I was good at reading people. Something only Rika had known, and only the rest of the pack does now.
It was why I never liked Shidou. He ticked all the wrong boxes. Like Silver said, he was a snake. It made made me happy hearing how Rei killed him.
But then came Silver. I could tell he cared about me. Even when I got drunk and outright kissed him, he cared about ME more then my body. That made me love him all the more. From there, I found more people to love. People that would care for ME. Just like Rika did. Saeko and Saya were great. They were both gorgeous, both fun to play or have sex with, and people that made it difficult to feel alone.
Even now, while we were making these monsters paste, cutting them in half or just destroying them, I wasn't alone. Rika watched over us, Saeko and Saya were right by the other, helping each other despite com...- "Oh yeah! We were competing!" I stopped thinking, and went back to 'smashing' as Rika put it. She was right, I DID know what she meant, I just liked to have fun with it.
(It's her fault I like these kinds of jokes anyway.) Years with Rika had made me stop caring about things like that. Then the months with Silver and the rest of the harem made me like it way more then before.
Speaking of the harem. Saeko and Saya were back to back like an old western movie. Surrounded on all sides, but they were both grinning. Saeko was a sadist, we all knew it. We just didn't care. And despite denying it, I could tell Saya was liking the way her whip cracked against things a little more as time went by. But again, I didn't care. (Outside of finding it hot. Whips are hot... I need to remind Silver to get a whip for us.) That aside, I ran over to them, and started getting ready to smash the nearest mammoth to ash.
Then the sounds of ALOT of guns firing went off, and it distracted me. The harpy looking Grimm were the ones getting killed the most, the other kinds of flying Grimm easily avoided the shots. "Tch, atleast SOMETHING is dying." Oh yeah! Saya. I smashed another mammoth to death, and a few of the prettier looking wolf Grimm, and had a thought. (I think I can take the lead here.) I had an idea for it, and like Silver said, 'no reason not too.' His 'order' made it easier for me to do this.
Running again, I jumped up just as high as the birds and other flying things were, coated Boomstick in ALOT of aura, activated the jets and starting rolling again. Rolling in the air was fun, and the next part was just as fun in my opinion. "Oh shit! SAEKO RUN!" I could see Saya wrap Pionós around Saeko, and start running. That was fine. Silver taught me this move, and the rest of the girls knew just how big the blast area would be. They'd be fine, we had aura to protect us. And even then, they'd just heal it off after a few minutes.
"EARTH SHAKER!" I SLAMMED Boomstick into the ground, and everything exploded and started shaking. If I put a bunch of power into an attack like that, I COULD make an earthquake! It was a small one, but the real kicker were the fissures I made. The ground in front of me cracked, and hundreds of Grimm were caught in it. The mammoths got the worst of it since they were so big... (Heh... Fat.)
I didn't get to think about the fat joke since someone whacked me on the back of the head. I turned to Saya, and pouted at her. It didn't hurt, but that wasn't the point! "Fucking hell Shizuka! Little warning next time?!"
"You got out fine though?" Which she did, so did Saeko, but she was busy picking off any Grimm that I missed.
Saya's eye twitched, and then she just sighed. "That... That's not the point." I just blinked at her, and acted 'innocent.' "Don't give me that look! I'm not Zaka!" I couldn't help the giggle that came out.
"I know. You don't have the same equipment after all." Saeko and Rika started laughing, and Saya just looked entirely done with me.
"I'm not going to even say anything about that... I have a contest to win." And like that, she was off.
"HEY! I'm gonna be the one who wins! Mark my words!" And I ran after her. This was just all too fun to me.
{Salem's general POV before the attacks}
A month.
That's how long it took to feed two Demi-Titans up to almost Titan level strength.
To push two separate armies of Grimm together, and force them to move together. The feeding of the Demi-Titans had left her drained. Exhausted more then she had been for centuries. Even now, she estimated it would take years for her to replenish the power she had used to feed them, and coerce the armies into working as she envisioned them too.
And now, she was ready to strike.
And so she did.
Awakening the Titan was the most draining thing Salem had done in recent years. That act alone would've forced her to recover for a decade at the least. But that would be fine. The Titan had awakened, and with it, Atlas would fall. The World Traveler would be weakened. His women would either fall, or be weakened as he was.
The Silver Eye Warrior would fall. The lineage would go extinct. And one more thorn would be out of her side.
And so she struck.
{Salem's general POV during the first battle}
As she watched her Grimm advance onto Atlas, she couldn't withhold a grimace. The World Traveler had sent out an attack that killed over three thousand of her aerial units. They had made up the vast majority of her forces considering Solitas had variety in that aspect. 'But it wasn't enough variety.' Which was true.
Megoliath's would fight against her call with age.
Razorwings were too weak to pose a threat without numbers.
Beowolves and Ursa were the same.
Sabyrs made fine front line material.
Manticores and Teryx were valuable but also could fight against her call if they were old enough.
'... I need more...' But it was impossible. Creating life fell to... Them. The Grimm pools may have recognized her and cursed her, but she could not create 'life' from them. She was not their master, and she never would be.
So she would need to accept what she had, and observe as they went to battle.
And she did. She watched as her legions advanced. Watched as they were met by the World Travelers women. The swordswoman was first. The pink haired scientist came after her. Then the woman with the deceptively absurd power. And as they advanced, she watched the last of their entourage snipe her air forces... But that was all.
There was something wrong.
Something was missing.
SomeONE was missing.
The World Traveler was gone. Her Seer could not find him. He was not there.
And that fact made the anger burn inside of Salem.
The reason she had forced a Titan to awaken.
The reason she sent out a force of over five thousand Grimm.
The reason she was drained to the point of needing decades to recover all the power she lost.
Was.
Not.
There.
That simple fact made Salem destroy the armrest of her throne, rage and curse the World Traveler, and swear to drag his women into the Grimm pools.
But even THAT seemed out of her reach.
The battle was NOT going in her favor. The women themselves were stronger then she gave them credit for. She had underestimated them.
The blond one especially. Her raw power was enough to cause a minor earthquake. That alone made her more of a threat then the other women. Despite the sniper and her semblance clearing out her aerial units, the woman capable of creating earthquakes was a bigger problem.
But as drained as she was, she couldn't command the titan. Couldn't empower it. Couldn't force the army to focus onto her. All she could do was coerce them into formations.
For all Salem had already done, she could do no more.
And that would be the start of her downfall.
[Omake - COULD YOU NOT?! Weiss' POV one week into Maccillian and the girls' stay at Atlas]
Being at home... Was strange.
Father had essentially forced me into coming home, but it wasn't as bad as it could've been. I was able to stay in touch with my team, find out about how they were doing, and get updated on their progress with their new... Abilities.
Finding out the sisters of the team became Werewolves was a day. I knew it could be spread, I had asked Saya as much when we discussed how our abilities worked and other matters like that. But it was still surprising to hear they were now Werewolves. Yin had even told me she'd bite me the moment she knew she could. Which sounded like something I'd read in one of Blake's smut books.
Not that I'd ever tell her I knew what was in them, because I DIDN'T.
I Swear I didn't.
That aside, my stay at home was strange.
The biggest reason was currently in front of me, sitting on my windowsill, without a care in the world. "So... What do you even DO here?" Maccillian Silver Zaka. The Werewolf king. The man capable enough of ridding the skies of Beacon an Vale of Grimm, and slayer of the Grimm Dragon.
And he was asking me what I did at home... It was a strange image. "It depends. In the mornings, I study on what I assume will be in our curriculum when we return to Beacon. In the afternoons, my schedule changes depending on the day. I either spend the afternoon working on my summoning, training to better myself as a huntstress, or spend time with my mother. Then in the evenings, I study some more, or talk with my team." He looked at me, and I could SEE the boredom creeping onto his face.
"Huh... That's kinda fucking boring." I had gotten used to his crude manner of speech, Yang cursed as he did, so I was ready for him. It still struck me as strange that even a king, if his story was TRULY to be believed, was as carefree and laid back as he was.
"Well I'm sorry that my home can't please your tastes my liege." He snorted at my blatant sarcasm, then smirked at me.
"It's kinda crazy how similar you are to Saya." I shrugged. Saya and I knew of our similarities, it was the reason our friendship grew at the pace it did.
"There is nothing new about that."
"I know. Just being redundant."
"Ok... Why are you even here anyway?" He grabbed his chest, and put on a face of mock-pain, as he looked at me.
"Wow. The princess getting tired of the king? Whatever will I do?" I couldn't help but laugh at that. He had names for all of us, and 'princess' was mine. It caused no small bit of amusement in my team, and those in his poly-amorous relationship.
"Well I for one act my station." An eye roll was what he said to that.
"If I acted like a king, then I'd be off conquering Remnant for the shits and giggles." I paid no mind to the fact he COULD if he chose to do so, and just shrugged as I went over to my desk. I was about to respond to him as I sat down, but then someone knocked on my door.
"Ms. Schnee, your father would like a word." Kleinn, my pseudo father, told me. I almost let my head hit my desk at that. Almost. But I did groan out my annoyance. Maccillian seemed to find my suffering amusing if the chuckling I heard from him was any indication. I knew Kleinn had gone, so I turned to the all powerful king on my windowsill, and glared at him.
"Yes, my suffering is purely for entertainment." He snorted and laughed for a few moments, and I huffed at him. "Whatever. I'll go get ready." I got up, and was about to go to the nearest dresser, but almost tripped at Maccillian's next words.
"Isn't he this massive dick?" I nearly tripped at the assessment.
(But by the gods he's not wrong.) I wouldn't SAY it, but my father really was a dick. "My father... Is a less then amicable man." That was the most I'd say about that. I opened my dresser, and looked for a nice coat to put on.
"Uhuh... Want me to off him?" Then my face met the dresser.
"WHAT?!" He looked too amused to have just offered to murder my father.
"You heard me. Dude's a dick. He's fucked with your family and a bunch of other people. I could just off him if you want. Hell, I could even make it look like a Grimm got him somehow." I just starred at the man... And I decided I was done for the day.
My father could wait.
AN - I feel like I'll only post the stat sheet when something changes. Anyway, 3 or something(It's 4. I had 8 in total) chapters left of RWBY, then we're off to world 2.
I wanted to use this ch to get the girls thought processes out.
Rika likes to watch over the girls, even if they don't need it.
Saeko is her sadistic self, but DOES listen when its needed.
Saya likes to know what's going on, understanding the situation, and planning around it.
I also like the idea that Shizuka is way smarter then she lets on. She was the group medic, and with how well she did her job, I think it'd make sense if Shizuka does things like studying new biology, medications, and other stuff like that.
I also want to try to give a good look into her thought process. She IS an airhead. She gets distracted easily. She doesn't pay much mind to the situation around her. BUT she can and will when it's about people she cares about.
I also liked the idea of Salem doing all this to get Maccillian, and he's not even fucking there.
Anyway.
Recap.
Saeko's Semblance - Lingchi/Death by a thousand cuts - Explained when I made it.
