Chapter 1

"Oh my!"

Athena's mum exclaimed when she sighted her daughter approaching the dinning room.

"Is that a cobweb Athena? Your hair is rizzed,lips are cracked and your eyebrows.... horrible." Her mom said in a matter of fact tone.

"Yeah yeah I look like a pregnant pig whatever" The woman replied unbothered.

"At least you know what you look like." Her elder brother daemon teased.

"Shut up" the woman defended herself.

" It's ok let's continue eating it's-" her mom persisted.

"Not a good habit of eating while talking" the young woman concluded like it was something she was used to, something that was said all the timr.

"Stop eating slow Athena hurry up I have morning classes". The young woman's brother rushed.

"Ok ok sheesh" the lady replied unbothered.

The brother and sister duo arrived their university early.Their University was not so populated but also not small in people because it was an ivy League University which only the rich vampire's kids could go. Even other beings came from their kingdoms to the university due to its reputable knowledge and reputation.

"Hey ena!" A girl yelled enthusiastically.

"Hi babe" she replied while beckoning on her. Athena smiled upon seeing her best friend vera who was a student in her university. They were also in the same apartment.

Vera was a very optimistic person. Though she did behave like a kid sometimes she always attracted people to her due to her softness.

"Omg did you hear that the royals (princes) are coming!?" Vera exclaimed in happiness.

"Yes and?" Athena replied with a "as a matter of fact tone". Athena didn't really care about anything concerning the country that much she mostly focused on herself and her loved ones and blocked the rest out. She only gave attention to what was necessary.

"Oh Athena I still don't understand why you don't like them." Vera asked.

"No I do I love our lovely emperor and empress of calmaria" Athena said sincerely

"Is that sarcasm?" Vera said almost annoyed as her friend was fond of being sarcastic.

"No I'm for real I just don't really care about the royal family most especially their sons".

"Why?" Vera asked shocked.

"What's there to like?" Artemis asked vera with all seriousness.

"Their physical appearance, intelligence, supernatural capabilities and so much more..... I mean what's there to hate?." Vera said in a daze. Vera just like almost every other girl in calmaria adored the emperor's boys.

"Their nonchalance, selfishness and so much more?." Athena replied.

"Ugh Athena you are hard to please" Vera responded with annoyance as ever since they were friends Athena had always been hard to please. She was never be impressed with anything.

"I'm not they're annoying most especially that half-brained fool called Killian going everywhere bossing everyone around. Acting like he knows everything. I don't even understand why our people value him he is literally insensitive,doesn't care about anyone but himself,and is ruthless." Athena informed vera in a serious tone.

"Did he do something to you Athena!?." Vera sked in shocked because no one has ever said bad about their beloved prince Killian before.

"Well no" Athena said truthfully.

"Oh so why don't you like him?.have you met him personally.....like seen his behavior one-on-one?."

"Yeah I have and it's how I described him." Athena had the opportunity to see prince Killian many times as her parents where one of the dukes and duchesses in calmaria so because of that she had the privilege to go on balls and exclusive events that led to see the princes.

The two chatted while heading to class and when they got to class focused on school work, lectures and projects submissions.

Time had passed and later on the bell rang on time that was announced when the royals (princes) would arrive the school. The school rang the bell earlier to make sure the students where there in the hall( where they would be doing the conference) before the royals arrived so they could settle down and await their arrival.

They headed to the conference hall and sat down together in one of the seats.

"Athena." Her brother mind linked her which surprised her because her brother hardly mind linked her.

"What is it brother?" Athena asked in shock.

"There is something urgent that happened back at home and dad wanted my attention to it so go home without me." Daemon informed in an urgent manner.

"What do you mean? what happened?." Athena replied in a worried tone as she was worried and internally hoped that everything was fine.

"Don't worry about this just go without me when the coach arrives to pick us up." Daemon informed her seriously.

"Ok be safe." Athena replied in a worried tone.

"I will." Daemon reassured.

The royals( princes) had arrived the school and there was excitement lingering in the air as the students where mesmerized and captivated by them. But not Athena,she was worried about a lot of things; her brother, her mother and her father. In her family she was more attached to her father. She always felt that strong strange string in her heart that kept pushing her to father.

As the conference went on, each of the princes made their speeches, advices and encouragement. While Athena looked attentive on the outside it wasn't the same in the inside. For her body was in the school but her soul was in the house. As she kept wondering and thinking about her family. She barely noticed the pair of intense jet black eyes staring at her.

" Athena did you hear what prince Arnold said!? It was so inspiring." Vera said with a rush of excitement.

"Hm." Athena said absent mindedly.

"Of course you wouldn't hear you where not listening at all." Vera concluded sharply.

"Look Vera I'm not in the mood for this, I'm going home I have something to do bye love." Athena replied with a tinge of sadness.

" Ok bye" Vera replied also sad as she wondered what was wrong with our friend.

Athena had arrived in her manor and didn't hesitate to run in and see what was happening.

" What do you mean by that!?she's still young for this."

" She isn't and she's responsible."

Artemis heard voices that were identical to her brother and father's.

" How do you she would feel about this."

"Feel about what?." Athenawalked in and questioned.

At that moment all eyes where on her. Emotions lurking around. Her father determined, her brother angry, and her mother confused.

"Athena sit down. Welcome back I heard the royals(prince) came to your school today."

Viserys (athena's dad) said in a somewhat comforting tone.

"I asked a question!? What's going on." Athena demanded without beating around the bush.

" Ok well this is about marriage." Viserys replied.

"Ok when is Daemon getting married." Athena replied relieved as she heard about marriage though she thought Daemon was young but, who was she questioned his decision?. Considering Daemon behaved like a whore it would be reasonable if Dad and mom lured him to responsibility with the disguise of marriage. Athena thought.

" The marriage isn't Daemon's it's you Artemis." Viserys replied in a rush like he had been holding his breath.

"Huh? how? when? who? since?." Athena questioned in a rush with a tinge of anger.

"What do you mean I'm getting married!?." Athena demanded.

"Let me answer your question ls accordingly Athena, and I strongly advise you calm down." Viserys cajoled her.

How; the emperor sent letters to all the kingdoms to bring out their best woman so thier sons could choose who they would marry, you where amomg the nominated Athena. When; you shall go and see if you get chosen by a prince, which I highly think you would. Who; Anyone at all that chooses you. Since; This was planned during Christmas Athena." Viserys explained in a calm and direct tone.

" But don't I get a say in this? I don't want to marry father, I'm too young I'm turning 20 (twenty) this year father. And this will disrupt my studies God forbid I will stop going to school because of a man." Athena said determined.

" It won't disrupt your studies you would go to a school there." Viserys said with impatience as he was not having Athena's stubbornness.

"So how is this taking place." Athena asked reluctantly.

" On the 12th ( twelveth) of this month the chariot will arrive to take you to the main Kingdom, to ravaryn." Viserys replied in a proud tone."

" I don't know dad." Athena said confused.

" If you Loved me Athena you would do this. "Do it for me, your father, imagine the respect I and this family would get if you married one (1) of the princes?, imagine the attention I and this family would get?. Do it for us, your family Athena It is your duty." Viserys informed and cajoled her.

" Ok. I'm going to bed now,it's tomorrow today is 11th(eleventh)."

" Yes you can go now." Viserys said in a happy tone.

Athena couldn't believe it,today she would would be in calmaria tomorrow ravaryn. She was going to miss everyone daemon, vera, her mom. She was going to miss the breeze in calmaria, the green flowers, the rain, she was going to be calmaria. Athenathought of her new life she was going to become. She couldn't say no to her father. She wanted her parents to be happy. So she had to do her father's bidding, she thought. She was on her bed. Her hair sprawled on the pillow. Her restless she had alot on her mind. Untill the cool calmaria breeze from her opened windows caught up to her then she dozed off.
