I release the doorknob, letting it fall behind me with a creaking noise. I look out at the hallway in front of me. There wasn't much here, it was a small house after all and not much space could be taken up for the entrance. The small hallway led to a staircase and had branching paths along the way.
Aiko was standing at the end of the hallway looking at me. "Come on slow poke! Let's go to my room!" She begins to run up the stairs, the only noises being the sound of her bare feet slapping against the hard wood.
"Well Aiko, normally any other guy would get really excited when a girl says something like that~" I say jokingly as I take off my shoes. I could hear her fumble with her steps out of embarrassment.
"S-Shut up! That's not what I meant!" I can almost hear how red her face is. I chuckle to myself and begin to walk up the stair case, slower than her.
When I reach the top, I walk right down a hallway and enter her room. The sight almost blinds me. "So much pink!" Of course, I've been here before, but it doesn't stop me from almost vomiting at the sight. It looks like a unicorn and a color-blind rainbow had a child!
"Aiko, have you ever considered...I don't know, looking into a different color?" I say, catching my breath after trying not to hurl.
"What's the fun in that, Erin? Pink is the best color of all time!" She holds on to a pink teddy bear as she says that, smiling at me from behind his ears. She's sitting on her bed, and I can see that she had 2 controllers beside her for her console.
I walk up and sit down next to her on the bed. "So we playing something?" I ask her as I pick up one of the controllers.
She smiles even wider and eagerly grabs her own controller. "Heck yeah! I'm going to destroy you!" She shouts triumphantly as if she had already won.
"Is that so? Then show me what you got!" I chuckles, turning on my own controller and looking at the small TV screen she had on a bookshelf(which was also pink).
It's times like these that make me nostalgic, I feel like I could go back to that point in time and live my life there forever...
