6 A memory of pink

Aiko and I used to always play games together in her room, when we weren't playing outside, that is.

We would play all types of games, fighting games, first person shooters, building games, survival games, You name it, we probably played it when we were kids.

But I mostly treasure the memories of the outdoors with her, and that small fort we built in the woods.

The woods are directly outside Aiko's house, so we would sometimes go out there and explore. One time, when we thought we had gotten lost in the woods, we came across what looked like an old run down wooden shack...or a Fort, as we called it.

We went inside and thought it was the coolest thing ever and adopted it as our home base of sorts.

In hindsight, there wasn't really much to the Fort. It was a small wooden shack with a wooden table and a few wooden chairs to match. One corner of the Fort had gotten so much water damage in the roof that it rotted a hole and water would constantly leak inside.

But none the less, we loved it.

We made trips out there every day after school. We had secret markings in trees to lead us to it which we carved in the trees ourselves.

Sometimes we would spend nights out there without our parents knowing. We would meet up at midnight and stay up reading manga under a cover together inside of our fort.

We loved that place to death, and wouldn't trade it for the world.

At some point, we stopped going though, and instead would hang out inside or around the small town, I wonder why?

A sudden push on my shoulder roused me from my nostalgic state. I looked over to see Aiko, of course. "Come on, Dummy! We going to play or what?"

I looked up at the screen and saw she had a game loaded up, a multiplayer plat-former game.

I smiled "Thought you wanted to beat me, isn't this game Co-Op?"

She looks back at me with her emerald eyes. "Well...I'm just going to be a WAYYYY better teammate then you!" She smirks and puts her hands on her hips, puffing out her chest in pride.

"Yeah yeah, sure you are." I pat her head and look back at the TV screen.

So much fun in one person...it's kind of contagious.
