Chapter 394 - Enhancement or Curse?

The next morning, after Chris sends away Maria to Quill Town, he is greeted by a group of guests. It's Colonel K and C-760 escorting a man that wore a neat standard suit. That man has dark blonde hair and a pair of blue eyes, his hair is neatly slicked to the side and his face is cleanly shaved, giving him a clean yet plain look. Despite of being a bit plain, he does give out a vibe of a leader. That man is Mr. Thomas, the president of The Alliance.

"Good day, Mr. Thomas, I will be leading the way." said Chris in a formal tone.

Then, Chris waved his hand a bit, temporarily removing the invisible magic that keeps the Secret Base invisible, and led Mr. Thomas and the other two into the building...

Meanwhile, the guard in Quill Town is once again witnessing the arrival of that magnificent golden-red phoenix.

"These daggers originally belonged to a royal family in a small country nearby. They sent these daggers to me after some awful things happened to their youngest prince." said Dominic as he stared at the daggers.

"What happened?" Maria asked.

"Well, I believe Chris had already known that these daggers are related to the ancient vampire master, Dracula, right?" said Dominic.

"These daggers are bathed in the blood of Dracula of all generations, thus it has a power-enhancing effect on people with vampire gene, however, the person that handles these daggers have to be powerful enough to bear the overwhelming power enhanced by the dagger, if the person that is in contact with it is not powerful enough, the enhanced power will be too much for them, thus causing them to lose their sanity permanently. And the mother of that young prince happened to have a hidden vampire gene and passed that gene to the young prince." said Dominic while recalling the whole thing.

"Ah... I see. So the prince lost control due to these daggers?" said Maria.

"Yes, you are right. They sent these daggers to me hoping to seal these 'evil things' away in order to prevent any further unwanted accidents. And I clearly remembered that I had properly sealed it in a forbidden area in a mythical forest in another dimension." said Dominic.

"Someone must have forcibly broken the seal and gotten it out... But who would do that?" said Maria, kind of curious. Dominic frowned without saying anything.

"Uncle Dominic, do you know any way to cure those who lose sanity due to these daggers?" Maria asked again.

"Unfortunately no, that young prince who lost his sanity had been locked up in the basement of this cathedral ever since he was brought here by his father, and due to his gene and the enhanced power, he had somewhat gained immortality. Even after hundreds of years, we still haven't found a way to cure him." said Dominic.

"Heh? He is in the basement?" Maria asked, rather surprised.

"Yes, do you want to take a peek at him?" Dominic asked, doesn't intend to hide anything from Maria.

Maria nodded.

Then, without any delay, Dominic led Maria to the basement of the cathedral along with Nathan, after they reached the basement, Maria is shocked by the sight.

A skinny young boy is lying in the far corner of the room, as soon he saw Maria and the others enter the basement, his eyelids opened showing his red bloody eyes. Then, without any warning, the boy stood up and charged directly toward Maria and the others with a distorted facial expression while showing his bloody long fangs. His veins can be seen clearly protruding from the skin, his hands had turned into long deadly sharp claws.

Dominic calmly raised his hand a bit, putting up a glowing light cage around the boy, and trapped him inside the cage. Despite being trapped in the cage, the boy continues to frantically clash against the cage, trying to reach Maria and the others with his sharp claws.

"That's the young prince I mentioned. As you can see, he had been like this for hundreds of years with absolutely no signs of recovery." said Dominic.

Maria stared at the boy, a bit out of words...
