They did so without blinking and i started to feel hope again, maybe this time, they could love me back, i could go back to the times i would joke around with them, laugh with them. Do you know what one of my friends once told me? "Alisa, don't ever hope. It's a dangerous thing. It can help you achieve great things. But it can also destroy a person. And most of the times it's the latter." I finally understand what he meant. The kidnappers changed their minds at the last minute. They handed each of my family members a dagger. But they only reflected my family members cold gazes as they stepped towards me. First my brother stabbed my shoulder. My father stabbed my stomach, and lastly my mother. The one who gave birth to me, showed me the most care, the most love, stabbed my heart. As i lay on the ground, i could feel myself breaking from the inside. A single white rose lay next to me. I heard it means strong hope- for me, hope no longer exists. Innocence- my teenage years that were supposed to be innocent and happy were sad and depressing. Love- an emotion i no longer feel. And slowly, that pure white rose was tainted in my blood.
