An: I'm not too sure about this chapter. I might rewrite it if enough of you dislike it.
...
Alex who was watching the Yinzea invasion couldn't help but think if he had overdone it with how powerful he made the species. Previously he had said they could crush steel and take high caliber rifle rounds with ease. Sure that's powerful, but still beatable.
The issue Alex was seeing was that he accidentally made it their baseline. Meaning that without any exercise or training that was what a member of the Yinzea could do. But when you introduced those elements?
A scene of Yinzea cutting bullets in half becomes rather prevalent.
Groaning to himself Alex decided he'd think of something to even the odds a little later. Right now he needed to focus on his current task.
That being the creation of one of his favorite species in all of sci-fi.
Currently, Alex stands above a planet ten times bigger than earth in a solar system on the outer edges of the galaxy. Beside him was his pink-haired grim reaper, Mori, along with a new addition.
[Pic here]
This was Takanashi Kiara, a phoenix in a humanoid form that Alex appointed the goddess of life.
And unlike Mori who stood silently observing his actions as Alex shifted and formed the planet to his liking, Kira was asking a question every five seconds.
" Oooo how did you do that!"
" Why did you do this?"
" Can I learn how to do all that?"
She said all of this in a rather pleasant tone of voice that showcased her curiosity and awe at my abilities. In any other case, Alex would be answering her questions and even teaching her how to do some of the things he was showcasing.
However, after Alex realized he could mess up by not expanding upon what he wanted to happen when he use his powers, he decided to partially ignore her.
Alex wanted this species to be nearly identical to its fictional counterparts. The only thing he would be modifying is their history, and personality as it didn't fit with his plan of things.
After a while, Kira calmed down though and sat down to watch him work.
A pat on her head was the reward for her calming down.
An hour later Alex was finished, a content smile on his face.
The planet below him was a radiated wasteland, its atmosphere and magnetic shield too weak to protect it from the deadly radiation from the sun and other celestial bodies.
No life, except for the truly exotic, could possibly live here nonetheless attempt to thrive.
Yet, if one were to look underneath the plant's surface one would see the remnants of an ancient civilization, one whose architecture looked strangely Egyptian.
Numbering in the millions were Towering Pyramids of black that pulsated strange green energy. Every so often a crackle of the energy would break off from a pyramid and destroy a piece of rubble or other material on the molecular level.
This world and soon hundreds of others was a tomb world.
Home to the Necrontyr or more infamously known as the Necrons.
Yes, the very same Necrons who welded technology comparable to humanity before the golden age of man. The species that had fought a war against the old ones and won.
But, not all was the same. If Alex was to just introduce the Necrons as they were into his universe it'd be a complete bore to watch when he awoke them. He didn't want to watch as the Necrons' curve stomped all the other species that he would eventually create.
So Alex changed a few key things.
For one, the war in heaven didn't happen because there were no Eldar, Korks, or old ones to fight.
Secondly, the C'tan never betrayed the Necrons and forced them to become soulless killing machines. Instead, the C'tan acted almost as guardian deities to the species. Though that didn't stop a majority of the species from choosing to be put in nearly indestructible robotic bodies.
Finally, the reason for their entombment across the galaxy was that they grew lonely as the only species in the galaxy at the time. So, with the help of the C'tan, they went into hibernation.
' With the way I designed them they should act almost like a Xenophilic fallen empire from Stellaris.' Mused Alex as he waved his hand and created tomb worlds across the galaxy.
Finished with the Necrons, Alex turned to the curious gazes of his two creations, no doubt curious as to why he would create such a powerful species.
" I'm sure you have questions, go ahead and ask," Alex said with a smile.
Surprisingly Cali was the first to speak her face marred with trace elements of confusion.
" Aren't they a bit too OP?"
Nodding her head Kira agreed and said with a head tilt" Yeah, won't they like, you know, demolish humanity and the other species you've created so far?"
Smiling at their expressions Alex decided to answer them.
"Hmm, while it's true they are much more powerful than any other species in the galaxy when it comes to technology levels it's for a very particular reason."
Opening his palm Alex created an illusionary image of one of the many futures he had seen when he took a peak at the fate of humanity if he didn't exist.
The picture showed images of a bored humanity. They had (from what they knew) peaked. Everything amazing had already been done, all discoveries had already been made, all of humanity lived in comfort as even the most expensive goods could be made easily with the tap of a button, and nothing could sate their boredom.
The rest of the story was essentially the origins of the Eldar.
Blood orgies and all.
But the worst part ( in Alex's opinion) was that they regressed in their technological level and never would reach that point again, for they were far too engrossed in a never-ending war with themselves.
Closing his palm Alex looked at both Kiar and Cali with seriousness.
"I created the Necrons so that they would act as a motivator for not only humanity but all alien species in this universe. I hate stagnation, and will not allow beings in my universe to stay stagnant, or even regress themselves. Even the Necrons aren't an exception. Once the other alien races begin to catch up I'm sure the Necrons will want to keep their edge."
Even with his explanation, Alex was sure they still had a question many would have.
" You may wonder won't why I don't simply create these species with a drive to improve themselves. That's because I believe in free will. The ability to choose for yourself, also because it's more fun this way." Alex said the last part with a smirk.
Looks of understanding made their way on the girl's faces.
"Knowing how everything is gonna happen does sound boring," Mori said whilst looking in the direction of the earth, mostly observing its happenings.
Excitedly, Kira jumped to her feet and appeared in front of Alex, stars in her eyes from how excited she was.
"So what are we gonna do next! Create another species? Build a planet!" Asked Kira in rapid-fire fashion.
A gasp escaped her mouth as a literal lightbulb appeared above her head indicating she had an idea.
"Are you gonna create more types of Chicken?!" Kira yelled with even more excitement than before.
Meanwhile, Alex could only watch in amusement as his second individual creation subconsciously used her ability to create.
Patting her on the head Alex spoke out to both of them.
" I will temporarily give you both the ability to change or create one thing in this universe."
Letting go of Kira's head, and ignoring the whine of disappointment that left her mouth because of it, I continued.
" it can be anything. Unlike Kira's powers which can only create life and control/create matter, this would allow you to change history, get rid of fundamental laws in reality, or even create a new one. The choice is yours."
Finished, Alex waves his hand and a mark appears on both girls' hands.
[Pic here]
" Once you use your wish this mark will change to suit whatever you have done. This creation or change will be your responsibility. You will manage it, and if necessary fix it if a problem arises. Do you understand?"
Mori and Kiar both nodded.
"Good, take this as your first lesson. When you get back to me I'll start to teach you how to use your powers."
Mori nodded before disappearing, while Kiar gave a large smile to Alex before poofing out of existence.
Alex, now alone let out a chuckle.
These two were just the first out of the many Gods and goddesses he would eventually create, and they already were giving him ample amusement.
"Looks like I won't be lonely at the top after all."
Alex stayed silent for a couple of minutes before teleporting back to earth.
It was time to give humanity their "edge".
....
What did you think?
Should I rewrite it?
Or is it fine as is?
Either way, I hope you enjoyed this chapter.
Oh and I created a patron if your interested. Though I'm still working on it and trying to figure out how it works.
