Same: Traveling Together?
Did he think I was a fake like them?
Could such a large pirate flag still be fake?
Could it be that they couldn't see the handsome Whitebeard on the pirate flag?
"Larson" ran up to "Whitebeard," but was knocked to the ground by "Whitebeard." He sneered, "What the hell are you doing, traveling with a pirate flag? I am Whitebeard. Do you think just hanging a pirate flag will let you pretend to be me?"
It's no wonder he didn't believe him. After all, the newspaper didn't specify the sea area where the Whitebeard Pirates and the Navy had fought. Most people assumed that a pirate group as powerful as the Whitebeard Pirates must be making their return in the New World.
Where was this place?
This was the East Sea, known as the weakest sea area. In the East Sea, it was tough to find a pirate group with a bounty of over 100 million beli.
But how much was the bounty for the Whitebeard Pirates?
Captain Whitebeard had 1.5 billion beli, and Vice-Captain Larson had a bounty of 1 billion beli. Together, they commanded a staggering 2.5 billion. Did they think a pirate group with that kind of bounty could appear in the East blue?
Do not make jokes.
And "Whitebeard" thought exactly this way. In fact, the reason he was so confident in impersonating the Whitebeard Pirates was that he was convinced they were in the New World and, regardless of what he did here, they would not succeed and would not be discovered.
"Whitebeard" took the initiative and recognized Gangplank as a fake.
He pulled out a gun, pointed it at Gangplank, and sneered, "Goodbye, fake."
With that, he pulled the trigger.
The sound of gunfire echoed as the bullet casings fell to the ground.
Gangplank, whose entire body was covered in diamonds, raised his head and said, "The disguise of the so-called Whitebeard Pirates doesn't even include me, Gangplank. You guys are profoundly unprofessional."
"Evil, Devil Fruit user!"
The pirates pretending to be the Whitebeard Pirates suddenly panicked.
"Whitebeard" did not believe in evil, so he fired several more shots in succession, but ordinary bullets couldn't penetrate the diamond and harm Gangplank. The bullet casings fell to the ground, but Gangplank was unharmed.
"Boss, this... this can't be the real Whitebeard Pirates."
Seeing that Gangplank was fine even after being shot, "Larson" suddenly panicked.
"Whitebeard" gritted his teeth and said, "No, so many people are impersonating the Whitebeard Pirates; he must be one of them as well."
Then he pulled the trigger again.
Soon all the bullets were spent, but Gangplank remained unharmed.
This time, the pirates finally panicked. They realized that the man in front of them was a formidable opponent.
"Hey-hey."
Gangplank sneered. "It's my turn now."
As soon as he finished speaking, he charged toward "Whitebeard" and "Larson."
"Who do you think I am? I have a white beard!"
Clearly, this pirate impersonating "Whitebeard" had become too engrossed in his role and couldn't wake up.
He looked at Gangplank rushing toward him, and instead of retreating, he took the initiative to attack.
On the other hand, the pirate pretending to be "Larson" had already decided to sneak away when he realized the situation was going poorly.
"Whitebeard" roared angrily, clenched his fist, and threw a punch. However, this weak punch was like an egg hitting a rock against the diamond coating Gangplank's body.
As soon as his fist made contact with Gangplank, there was a crack, and his wrist twisted and deformed.
Without even using the Haki, trying to break through the diamond-like defense of the Shining Fruit with just ordinary fists was nothing short of a joke.
Looking at "Whitebeard," who lay on the ground, holding his wrist and moaning in agony, Plank wore a look of disdain.
"You think you can dream of being called Whitebeard?"
"Ah!"
The pain from his twisted wrist rendered "Whitebeard" unable to hear anything at that moment.
Gangplank stepped on "Whitebeard" and scanned the crowd, trying to find the pirate who had just claimed to be "Larson." He couldn't find any trace of that person—he had already fled.
Plank curled his lips and said, "Yeah, they're a bunch of cowards."
He was about to turn around and leave when he suddenly noticed a large shadow beneath him. His body froze in place.
He slowly raised his head and saw a tall figure standing before him.
It was a man who was half a head taller than Whitebeard. He wore a massive leather jacket, and dragon-scale tattoos adorned his body. His physique resembled an iron tower, exuding an overwhelming aura just by standing there.
A drop of cold sweat trickled down Gangplank's forehead.
At that moment, the man in front of Plank spoke.
"Boy, I think you have some strength. Do you want to join my pirate crew?"
Join?
Plank looked up to see the man's face clearly and was surprised to find that he had horns like a bull.
What kind of monster is this, and why is he here?
Gangplank quickly played up his charm and grinned. "Well, I'm sorry, but I already have a pirate crew."
"What?"
The man in front of him seemed a little displeased and puffed out two streams of white smoke from his nostrils. "If you've already joined, why don't you just quit?"
This was the first time Gangplank had heard about this method of recruiting. He quickly responded, "My current crew is quite great. I don't plan to leave; you'd better find someone else."
"You're so disrespectful. Our captain has invited you, and you still dare to refuse."
Just then, a big man walked around behind Plank and reached out to grab Plank's shoulder.
Gangplank quickly manifested his agility and dodged the hand reaching for him. He jumped back and quickly distanced himself from these pirates.
He knew who he could fight and who he couldn't. Clearly, he was no match for the people in front of him.
The horned man ordered, "Catch him."
As soon as he finished speaking, a pterosaur flew out from behind him, targeting Gangplank, while the fat man stomped toward him.
After all, Plank was no match for these strong foes, especially with the two of them joining forces. Soon, he found himself cornered in front of the horned man.
"Lord Kaido, we have captured him."
This beastly-looking man was none other than the future Four Emperors, Kaido of the Hundred Beasts.
Kaido had just left the Rocks Pirates, and the Beast Pirates were just being established. He was traveling the world to recruit powerful members when he encountered Gangplank.
Although Plank might not be strong enough, Kaido valued his Devil Fruit abilities. Despite his dreams of creating an army filled with Zoan users, he was not opposed to adding a diamond user to his ranks.
Kaido looked at Gangplank, who was being restrained: "How about it, boy? I'll ask you again: do you want to join my pirate crew?"
Gangplank, pressed to the ground, smiled nervously and replied, "Sure, sure! It'd be an honor to join your crew!"
Upon hearing this, Kaido was very pleased. "If you had agreed sooner, we wouldn't have gone through all this trouble. Alright, Quinn, let him go."
The fat man released Gangplank, but as soon as he did, Gangplank retreated hastily like a frightened rabbit.
Kaido glared at Gangplank as he fled, gritting his teeth angrily. "Give him a taste of our wrath!"
