Kalki (2)

The growing dungeons were the least seen dungeons in the novel, 'hero of darkness' and this already speaks the rarity of them. There were only 5 of those in the whole world that were mentioned till volume 5 during the introduction of Rehanik's growing dungeon and each one of them were considered as highly dangerous.

These dungeons start to form from F-rank, the lowest and stay hidden until they reach C- rank. Although you can still find them by great luck like our main character, otherwise it's impossible to find them. These dungeons if left unchecked can reach up to the maximum SSS-rank or meld themselves with this world itself. Because of the novel information only Kalki knew exactly where those dungeons were hidden.

In the novel this particular dungeon was found by the crown prince of the demon faction, the same prince who later on became the next demon lord. This was something that he got to know from someone in the comment section due to the shocking development.

He discovered this dungeon a whole year earlier than other factions. But because it was present in the region of their enemy group he decided to let it grow more and escaped after stealing the main artifact from the boss room.

But later when our second mc found out the 6* mana art inside, the demons faction under crown prince attacked them and a war broke out in the region. In the end the mana art also ended up in the hand of the demon prince which made him stronger than his other competitors in the demon realm.

'Let's prepare first. It's no use if i rushed myself and ended up dead inside and i also have enough time to do this '

Kalki controlled his drool for the mana art and artifact and thought calmly. He knew that he can't enter right now due to his body containing no mana or in mundane terms he wasn't awakened. Even though most people get awakened at the age of 5 but the body Kalki was in already turned 11 this year which means he was not gonna awaken normally.

Albeit it wasn't that much of a problem for him because he has a way, the main problem was his illness. He didn't know what it was exactly, but he clearly knew it was life threatening. His whole body was way too weak and will surely collapse in a few weeks and that was maybe the reason why his trash father abandoned him.

Though the boy died earlier than expected and made the space for Kalki to acquire this body but if the body stopped working again then he himself would die the second time.

The only thing Kalki can think of which can heal his situation was probably the 'elixir of life' or 'pond of wonders' situated near the laboratory of 'great alchemist Michrin',"the professor" . But for now he can't go there right now as both of them are situated in the 'Petrison continent'. The massive charges it took to travel through teleportation gates was too much and he himself was broke.

'Well, it looks like a trip to Petrison is gonna take a lot of time so I should first focus on awakening myself and construct a plan'.  (A/N:: '_' = speaking to himself in his mind)

Kalki remembered that in the volume 3 of the novel it was mentioned a way to awaken those who were not bound to awaken. This way was found out by demons in order to prepare vessels for them. It contained feeding non awakener mana cores of low level monsters and with the help of rampaging mana of mana cores forcefully awakened them.

The whole process was very gruesome with only 1 out of 30 children surviving and those who survived didn't gain much for themselves. Though they got awakened, their mana usually got very contaminated which drops their talent and chances of reaching higher rank.

As the purer one's mana is the higher talent they will possess and easier the path for reaching above level. However for demons it doesn't matter much after all impurity in mana doesn't hinder their growth.

After awakening through this method Kalki knew his mana was bound to get contaminated but it didn't matter for him as long as he was able to reach the 'pond of wonders'. However the main problem right now was how to get a monster core in the first place.

With his body it was simply a suicide to even attempt the monster hunt which leads him with the only option of buying it from the market and for that to happen kalki decided to search his whole house to find something which he can sold to buy core.

The investigation only led Kalki to become a lot more frustrated with his so-called 'father'. His father already took everything important and valuable with him, leaving nothing behind. The few things that were left behind were photo albums and his mother's things.

"That bastard took almost everything with him except mother's things….."

Kalki cursed as he looked at his mother's things one by one. There he found out for the first time that both of his parents were adventures. However he didn't find a single photo of his mother and father together.

Checking out almost the entire house which had two floors, Kalki found two things which were useful enough for him. First thing was a bow and a few dozen arrows, second thing was a B-rank 'Heal' skill gem.

Even though the B-rank 'Heal' skill gem was very valuable to have after all, this skill at maximum level can even attach cut off limbs. But the necessity of the situation doesn't give him the liberty to keep this book for himself. The only way for him to gain a monster core is by buying and except selling the skill book he had no other way to get money.

B-rank 'Heal' skill was a rare find and mostly all big guilds would always buy it immediately when it came on the market so its price was usually pretty high. This thing was left behind thanks to the fact that it was hidden and can only be accessible by Kalki himself. Thanking the god, Kalki thought maybe his mother knew his father well enough and that's why she hid the skill gem like that.

After calculating some things in his mind he was sure that selling B-rank 'Heal' Skill would be enough to cover his expenses for monster core and maybe he could save leftover for the travel expense to Petrison continent.

Deciding everything he made his way to the association hall to sell the skill book.
