The Vines Before Venice

Venice watched restlessly. She began to pray silently that this battle would stop. She prayed that Ivy wouldn't be hurt again. And in this desperate prayer, she suddenly fell unconscious and entered a trance-like state. Finding herself in a space that would seem to exist in a dream, she panicked as she worried about the battle. But as she tried to run in hopes of escape, she heard a cry as if something had just been brought into the world. It was the cries of a baby. The king held the baby in his arms, and a beautiful woman lying down in her bed caressed the baby's head softly. Venice heard her name. With the slight mention of her name, she remembered a conversation between her and Ivy.

They talked about a phenomenon called a returning memory. Returning memories are events that were cursed to be forgotten — they would instead be remembered by a descendant of people who witnessed the cursed event, hence returning memories. With another slight mention of her name, she was convinced that this was a returning memory. But she was confused as to why a sweet interaction between a family was cursed. The king spoke of the mother's name. It was different from the queen's. She understood that she was the child crying in the king's arms. It was forbidden love between the king and his secret concubine.

However, this happy memory would last only but a speck of time. Queen Kaicee Enarol found out about King Rick's forbidden child, and the king knew too that the Queen was aware of his secret child. The memory showed Venice: the Queen was so furious that she ordered assassins to murder the king's concubine and the child. The king learned about this order and went to the concubine's house. Their child was with him at the time, so the assassins didn't manage to kill the baby. The king feared that even with this chance circumstance, the Queen's assassins would soon be able to kill the baby, so he went, in secret, to the house of his most trusted knight, Sir Jian Dale of the Ignacio clan. Venice realized that her adoptive mother, Krixia, lied that she found Venice as a baby in the suburbs. Even with such lies, the fact that her adoptive parents raised her still remained faithful in her heart.

After learning the truth and accepting who she is. Venice was enlightened. Her body started to glow with radiant light.
