In front of Noah's eyes, system windows began to pop up.
Something like this would be incredibly rare, as the only system windows he would see was his own attribute panel or sometimes the information about his Skills.
But this…
Was indeed odd.
And what was even the new System Function?
And how could it be possible for the Blood Core to affect the System in such a way?
"What is this? Oi, Dracula, why is the Blood Core affecting the System?" asked Noah.
"Dracula?! And what are you talking about?" asked the Blood Progenitor, who was now nicknamed as Dracula.
"The System is… generating a new function through the energy and essence detected in the Blood Core, it is as if the Blood Core itself was giving orders to the System… Care to explain to me how that is even possible?" asked Noah.
"I… How? Wait… Could it be? I have more or less figured how the System that you Humans use. It is a special Divine Construction that helps Humans absorb powers and energies from other sources, even from other worlds. This way, such power is converted in yours through Attribute Values and Skills… if the System is doing the same function with the Blood Core… It could be possible that the Blood Core is unlocking more of my capabilities and then inserting them into the System through its ability to assimilate energy and power… But this… The Blood Core is doing everything by itself! Could it be that it has harnessed some kind of consciousness due to its high amount of concentrated energy?! But this is… near impossible!" said the Blood Progenitor.
"Well it's happening right in front of my eyes…" muttered Noah, as he was greeted by many new System Windows.
[New System Functions Generated]
[New System Functions: [Ability Core Exchange] and [Blood Progenitor's Skill Tree] have been created]
"Ability Core Exchange and… Blood Progenitor's Skill Tree… Did you had this before, Dracula?" asked Noah.
"Stop calling me Dracula! And no. To begin with, Abyss never had any kind of strange System like you Humans have, we forged our strength by devouring other beings Blood Cores and Bloodlines, strengthening our Bloodlines Abilities… But Skill Trees are certainly… strange," said the Blood Progenitor.
"Maybe it is a way for the System to assimilate all the saved up power within the Blood Core that I still cannot unlock yet… This makes it way more convenient," said Noah with a smile, as he checked the two new Functions descriptions.
[Ability Core Exchange: Exchange Ability Cores for Skill Points, and use them to learn new skills through the Blood Progenitor Skill Tree, or new Skill Trees that might be acquired or generated after exchanging many Ability Cores]
[Blood Progenitor's Skill Tree: The Skill Tree of the Blood Progenitor, containing many Levels which possess abilities, Attribute Values Bonuses, Cultivation Techniques, and Skills that can be exchanged through the use of Skill Points acquired by exchanging Ability Cores through the [Ability Core Exchange] System Function]
"Skill Points, so I can pretty much use Ability Cores to get my own Abilities instead of random half-assed stuff… Well, there is also the option of just using them and ignoring this… but… Skills from the Skill Tree are most likely better suited for me as a Vampire than just covering my hand in rocks…"
Ding!
[Do you wish to exchange [Ability Core (D)], and [Ability Core (C)] for 70 Skill Points?]
[>YES NO]
"Only 70 Skill Points… Seems like a very small amount… But maybe it is good enough…" thought Noah, as he selected the 'YES' Option.
Flash!
Suddenly, the two Ability Cores that he had gotten by killing his fellow classmates disappeared into bright light, merging themselves with him.
Ding!
[You acquired 70 Skill Points]
"70 Skill Points… Let's check this Skill Tree and what's is all about…" thought Noah, as he selected the Blood Progenitor's Skill Tree.
<Skill Trees>
[Blood Progenitor] [Innate]: The Skill Tree of the Blood Progenitor, generated through the innate powers of the Blood Core, using Skill Points will unlock more of its hidden power and the various abilities of this entity.
Complete the Level 1 Skill Tree to unlock further Skill Tree Levels, with the possibility of generating a new Skill Tree all together.
[Level: I]
[Blood Progenitor Successor (0/50)]: Spend Skill Points into this branch to unlock more of the innate strength of the Blood Progenitor, such as bonus Attribute Values, Skills, and more.
Additional Abilities can be unlocked after the Branch is Maxed.
Additional Abilities (I): [Blood Flow Acceleration (0/5)], [Blood Sacrifice (0/5)], [Blood Retribution: (0/10)]
Additional Abilities (II): [Vampiric Eyes of Hypnosis (0/10)], [Poisonous Blood (0/10)], [Blood Curse (0/20)]
Additional Abilities (III): [Blood Armor: (0/25)], [Blood Potion (0/30)], [Blood Combustion (0/40)]
"Oh? This is interesting… Although I will have to go in order, it seems… I cannot cherry-pick whatever I want… But at the very least, these are guaranteed abilities instead of the randomness of Ability Cores, so that's certainly a plus," thought Noah.
Noah then decided to max out the branch and finally access the Additional Abilities, which seemed rather enticing.
Ding!
[You have spent 50 Skill Points]
[The [Blood Progenitor Successor (50/50)] Skill Tree Branch has been Maxed!]
[You acquired bonus Attribute Values]
[You acquired bonus Skill Proficiency]
[The power of your subordinates has increased]
Noah then felt as his Attribute Values increased by a small amount, it was not anything outstanding, but it was better than nothing.
Aside from this, all the Skills he had gained a bit more of Skill Proficiency, becoming stronger.
And lastly, it seemed that the power of his 'subordinates' increased when he maxed the level of the Branch, although he was not sure what this could truly mean aside from just making them stronger through Attribute Values bonuses.
Noah himself also felt stronger, as if his entire body were being shrouded in an aura of crimson red.
And all of this through just two Ability Cores…
Ding!
[You acquired the [Blood Soul: 1 (A)] Skill]
"Blood Soul?!" asked Noah in surprise, as he felt like something within him, not his physical body nor blood had changed.
"You… You acquired a Blood Soul already?!" asked the Blood Progenitor.
[Blood Soul: 1 (A)]
A Skill that changes the nature of the wielder's soul to that of Blood, being capable of manipulating it through Blood Manipulation and use it in the same way as other blood could be used.
The nature of a soul is unique, as it can bypass material objects and ignore physical damage.
However, if the Soul is overused, the soul could receive damage.
By consuming blood and enhancing the user's soul with it, such damage can be mitigated, and the power of your Blood Soul will increase.
"Hoh? Isn't this absolutely amazing then, Dracula? Were you hiding this treat from me? Well, too bad!" laughed Noah, as he felt his soul flowing like a river of crimson blood inside of his body, nourishing his Blood Core through Cultivation Techniques now seemed easier!
"And now, for the main dish… Let's get some Bonus Abilities!" said Noah, as he glanced at the first Skill on the list, deciding to use the last 20 Skill Points he had.
