The soft murmur of conversation filled the Golden Lotus restaurant as Delilah sat alone at her table, idly pushing her fork through the delicate arrangement of food before her.
She took a sip of wine as her gaze drifted momentarily over the other diners, each absorbed in their own company, leaving her comfortably alone.
The vibration of her phone pulled her from her thoughts. She glanced at the screen and smiled when she saw Blake's name flashing across it.
She accepted the call, bringing the phone to her ear. "Hey," she greeted, her voice soft.
"Hey, wife," Hunter's deep voice came through, "Are you eating alone?" He asked as he sat on his bed.
He had excused himself from the living room after receiving Delilah's text.
"Why? Worried I might be away on a date while you're away?" She asked dryly, and Hunter chuckled.
"You know me too well," he teased, leaning back against the backrest.
