Upping the ante, New Car, Hero Interview Part 1!

Dan and Andrei talked about his progress for a little while longer, and Dan even offered to help out his friend once he stepped up to the level of an Enhanced human. Andrei looked a little more emotional than Dan had seen him for a long time. "Thank you, that would be amazing! There's still a lot I haven't told you about my personal life, I'll tell you everything when the time is right."

Dan patted his friend on the back. "I hadn't really noticed that you were hiding anything until my mental abilities improved a lot, I can read more subtle body language without much effort now."

They talked for quite a while until Dan noticed that it was already 1 AM, but strangely, he didn't feel that tired, probably due to his ever-growing vitality. He quickly checked how high his Constitution stat was.

It really was increasing fast, but it would probably start to slow down once it got into the 70s. Dan knew that his current exercise routine wasn't enough. I guess I'll start incorporating runs early in the mornings, along with relays where I walk for a bit, run for a bit, and sprint for a bit. Shuttle runs would also be great, I can incorporate push-ups or burpees into that part of it. I guess that it's time for me to really up the ante. Dan still went to bed after planning all of this out, and he woke at 5:30 AM. 

He was pretty sleepy but that quickly faded once he got ready, and he went out for a brisk run that lasted around an hour and a half, adding the relay in halfway through. He felt the exhaustion mounting, but never stopped pushing until it was over. Dan then did a few stretches, had a quick shower, got dressed, and had breakfast. This time he had a Smoothie consisting of Jordanian Dates, Bananas, Pears, and Walnuts.

He then added some milk, low-fat yoghurt, and Kefir, and turned on the blender. Smoothies are pretty great, and much more convenient to consume when I don't want to spend too long having breakfast. Dan then realised that he wouldn't be starting work until 12. Nonetheless, he still decided to head down, just to go for a walk to clear his thoughts. To his surprise however, there was already a car waiting outside, he didn't recognise the driver though.

WHAT THE F*CK? TONY, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE? Alright, alright, let's calm down a little. I wonder if Angela asked him to add his personal touch to this car, but this is a little much. The person got out the car and Dan was quick to recognise her, it was Mercedes "Misty" Knight. "Hello Dan, I'm just here to drop off your vehicle, your instructor is already there in the form of an AI. Sorry I can't stay for a chat, I'll probably be seeing you soon anyways."

With that, she quickly ran off down the street, disappearing into an alleyway. Dan went to check but she'd already reached the top, and vanished from view. Well, that was interesting. Oh well, I guess it's time to test it out, learning how to drive it should be relatively easy. After all, just an hour of practice is the equivalent of 160 hours of constant practice. So Dan did just that, spending a total of three and a half hours. He'd already mastered all he needed to know for now.

Dan drove to work for the first time in his life, it was a surreal experience driving through the New York traffic. He parked in The Front Line's Staff carpark, and quickly walked back to the entrance, it was currently 11:45 AM, it was early, but that didn't matter too much. He went straight up to the first floor, and entered the meeting room, this was where they planned the day's proceedings. Alejandro, Angela, and a few others who Dan hadn't met just yet, were already there.

Angela was the first to spot Dan, and she waved to him as he entered. "Good morning Dan! It's great to see you this early, please take a seat. We'll wait until 12 to start, there's still a few more people we're waiting for right now."

Dan sat down, and waited along with the rest of them. He struck up a conversation with the two members who he'd never met. Their names were Camilla and Arturo, they were both mutants who had been working in the Hero Management Department for 4 years now. Once everyone arrived, they quickly started planning the day's events. It wasn't long before Alejandro turned to Dan. "Dan, you'll be interviewing a hero who's about to make his debut.

In fact, you've already met him, he's not one of the usual heroes or mutants we end up interviewing, you'll understand once you meet him. You'll do amazing, I know you will!"

Dan suddenly had a sense of foreboding which continued on into his shift until around 1 PM, that was when a wealthy looking man entered the office. "Hello, I'm looking for a Dan Montgomery. I'm here for the interview."

Dan immediately stood up and greeted him, they exchanged pleasantries and then they walked to one of the side rooms in the large office, and closed the door. The man then quickly looked around him, as if he thought he might be being watched. And then... he started to pull his face off? Wait, it's a latex mask! Why would he- OH! IT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW! Standing in front of him was a man he knew all too well.

"Of course, I see how it is now. Well, hello there Mr. Stark, fancy meeting you here!"

"Hey kid, you're looking sharp, how was my disguise? I took a crash course last night."

Dan sighed, this was going to be a more interesting idea than he'd thought.
