After hearing Daniel's words, Carlos began to think carefully about whether the decision he made was the right one. In his opinion, people with second-level authority take the most risks, but the greater the danger, the greater the benefits and experiences! Everyone will know how to survive and take care of themselves.
Just as Carlos was thinking to himself and wondering if being a common man he could survive in this group, Airon had already begun to present the plan to everyone in great detail.
As Airon's plan was slowly narrated, there were outbursts of discussion in the crowd in front of him, most as usual supported it, and a small group of people hesitated, worried that this series of actions could endanger many people, but no one objected, after all what this great project will bring to everyone is a safer living environment.
Airon spoke for about half an hour, explaining in detail the groups and leaders that will lead this mission, the movements and ways to move as well as the care to be taken. When Airon finally indicated that he had finished speaking, the discussion from the crowd below finally erupted and everyone also stood up and asked a series of questions.
"Captain, all of us in the community are ready to do anything, but.... Why do we need to strengthen the defenses of this place?" A middle-aged man hesitated under the stares of all the people around him, but still spoke clearly.
"You are Orlando, right?" Airon looked at this middle-aged man with a slight smile on his face. This man was considered a very important person in the community. In a shootout when he started the end of the world his wife was killed. After escaping, with nothing to fight for in this world, he found himself in a nursing home where he helped everyone. After living in prison for some time, he was listened to by all the people.
Orlando was happy to see that Airon remembers his name, he picked up his hair and said with a little concern, "Sir, none of us doubt your decision, and the results of this project are good and not bad for everyone, just considering the danger, it is still hard for us to digest that fear of the walkers."
Hearing this, Airon looked in the direction of that voice and said, "Believe me as the leader of this community I have taken into account all these problems, I know your fear of walkers and that is why you will be protected by experienced guards."
After saying that, he finally stepped forward and found communication with everyone and added: "Let me tell you something Orlando, have you ever seen how destructive a horde of walkers can be? Very few know that the walkers in Europe have varied and there is a variant that can open doors, lift objects off the ground and climb obstacles. Can a simple wire netting withstand an attack by ten thousand walkers?"
The prison location was unique and very good to start from this place, but all these problems have always been on Airon's mind. Someday he will have enemies that are smart enough to drive hordes of walkers towards his base, how can he then ensure the safety of this place?
The entire prison is surrounded by a fence good enough to keep the hot ones away from the interior, but this does not ensure that smarter walkers can scale the chain link fence around the prison.
Fortunately, he knew of many of the things that could happen and is preparing not to be surprised by anything that might develop in this world. The S.C.T.'s center of operations should not be breached by any kind of enemy.
"Walkers can do that?"
"How is that possible?"
When Airon saw the disbelief on all the people's faces he said, "I don't want you to be surprised, but the walkers will not be our ultimate concern. Will we be able to keep this place safe if another group covets our land? I know you are worried that there will be losses, but I would at least like to tell you that the guards of each group and I personally will do my best to see that no one gets hurt."
"Even so, we will suffer and some of us will die, but anyone who survives will be stronger than any man or woman! My plans go far beyond that and will bring you changes improving everyone's life in the future. The purpose of every human alive is to rebuild civilization, and we do not need different orders. So none of us will just be looking to survive in the future."
Airon's passionate words echoed throughout the place, everyone felt injected with an indomitable fighting spirit, and right now everyone wants to grab a weapon and deal with all the walkers outside.
Looking at everyone who had been infected by his vision, Airon knew that this was the best time to move forward. Without hesitation, he shouted in a deep, commanding voice, "Do you want to live a good life in the future?"
"We want it captain!"
"Who here wants to destroy the walkers and not be afraid of those unintelligent dead?
"We want to destroy the walkers!"
"Then who here wants to rebuild civilization, to create a place where children can grow up without touching a gun and old people grow old without seeing the darkest thing in this world?
"We want it!"
"Then don't hesitate! Don't be afraid! Don't question how powerful you can become! Follow the plan and we can all someday see a new tomorrow without walkers!"
"We will never doubt again!!!"
"We humans, we may become the most evil creatures in this world, but we are also the best adapted to live in any kind of conditions! Remember, hard times create strong men!"
"Let's go!!!"
Rick, Shane and the others behind Airon looked at those eyes of all the people in front of them, and then they looked at Airon's cold, determined gaze and they all had to admire Airon's ability to touch everyone's hearts with a few simple words.
Many in the crowd looked at Airon with passionate eyes and some women even started to feel more than just that joint emotion. Girls like Amy wondered on more than one occasion if what they were beginning to feel was love for this man, but the other side seemed to have no time for such negative feelings.
And Nara, who was far ahead of the crowd, also looked at Airon with different eyes at this moment. This man was not looking for a simple dream of survival, Airon wanted to rebuild order in the whole civilization. She had always considered him someone cold and without any attachment to the people around him, but now she had a different kind of thoughts.
With a single order all the people with second level authority began to move to various leaders with class three authority and began to work together with the other people. Now, a record was being made of the people who would be going out and the necessary equipment was distributed as a whole to groups.
Starting tomorrow, it will be the first day of a new month. For today, everyone will rest and tonight a small farewell party will be held. Airon promised everyone that when this mission is over, everyone will receive an unexpected surprise.
Guillermo was very hurt tonight, as he was in charge of supplies, it was very painful to see how much was spent on a party, so he felt a little bad.
Having been tasked with keeping the food and armament stores in order, he talked every day about what was spent and what was left.
But to tell the truth, Airon was the one who was the most informed about the resources in the warehouses and everything that was spent. For now, the warehouses were full and even large trucks were kept full because there was no room to move them for now.
Also in the armament warehouses there was gunpowder and machines to produce certain types of ammunition, but very few were those who had the skills to make them and sooner or later he had in mind to get hold of a factory in the city.
Tonight everyone received wine and a sumptuous meal was made, after all many would leave the prison and some would not be able to return. This was the way it was, and no matter what Airon did to prevent it, sooner or later there would be casualties.
While Airon was in a corner of the table immersed in these thoughts, the people around him were having a pleasant evening. Andrea, who was aware of her sister's feelings, pushed Amy to go and talk to Airon.
After leaving her sister at Airon's side, she left her alone and went away. Airon, on his side, had no such colorful thoughts in his mind at the moment.
After sensing movement at his side, he returned to her side and asked, "Do you drink wine too?"
Amy smiled and nodded, took the bottle of wine and handed it to Airon, casually asking, "How have you been? It seems you're not used to this kind of environment, are you?"
Airon, who heard this question, looked around and felt a slight anger pass through his mind. Over time, he slowly felt more responsible for the future of his community and knew that they were all about to meet the real hell with the days to come.
Amy, who looked at Airon's seriousness, said, "I'm sorry, this place is very good and many people are comfortable with the place that has been built. We are all grateful that it was effort, Airon."
"I'm glad to hear that, let me know if you have any difficulties. Although time may not make it easy for me, when I am in this place I can solve trivial issues. For now, times will be very difficult and once the plans in this prison are completed, everyone will be safe."
Airon could only look at everyone with a slight smile, now better than ever he can see that his efforts all this time are beginning to be meaningful. So it spurred him to keep up his efforts.
Amy looked at Airon and suddenly realized her mistake. Seeing Airon, who only appeared to be in his early twenties, bearing such a heavy burden, her original questions were dismissed and in his case she asked, "Airon, how old are you?"
"Hmm, I think I'm twenty-five, is something wrong?" Airon didn't understand the very odd question Amy asked and gave him a somewhat confused look.
Amy, who didn't notice exclaimed, "Twenty-five years old? That can't be, I thought you were younger. But to tell you the truth, if you were working at the CDC being so young it's unimaginable."
"Haha! Well, you're right about that. To tell the truth, I can look a bit young and I very rarely tell people my real age." Airon was a bit surprised by Amy's words. He recalled his beginnings of lying that he was a soldier in order to fulfill many of his initial plans.
Seeing that Airon suddenly smiled, Amy smiled too, but she knew her crush couldn't stand a chance, thinking about it she decided to ignore it.
Amy could clearly feel that Airon's kindness towards her was common, so common that with everyone it was like that, maybe now is not the time or really Airon is not interested in such rare feelings nowadays.
