Synopsis

Attention: The writing really improves after the chapter 20. I'll set myself the task to rewrite the early chapters to match the writing quality of the late chapters. I'll write in the header if the chapter was rewritten. This is a tale of a man known as the Traveler. In the pursuit of his own meaning and his thirsty will to craft his worth, he found himself facing the darkness of the world. In a deadly fight for survival, he shall tell his story. And as if each road should have, this is a tale of sorrow, a tale of wandering, a tale of one soul's search for the escape of his own fate, and how that search, and the fearless will that drove it, gave birth to a legend. first Love with the monster

Kaho Nikaido has lead a sheltered, pampered life as the only child of rich, older parents. Seeking to escape the bullying that plagued her as a result, she moves to Tokyo to live in a boarding house, hoping to start over fresh. On her first day there, she almost gets hit by a truck, but is saved by a handsome boy, with whom she falls in love at first sight. The only problem? He's a fifth grader, the son of her new landlord. Is it okay for her to still like him? Or even...date him?Review: There are crushes, and there are crushes – some you're more likely to act on than others, and some you know are just secret emotions that are better kept to yourself. That last distinction is a little difficult for the heroine of First Love Monster, fifteen-year-old Kaho Nikaidou, though to be fair it isn't entirely her fault. Kaho is the only daughter of a wealthy family, and her older parents have always spoiled and indulged her. They've made it very well known that she's their precious flower, and as a result she's never been able to keep any friends – they either assume she's stuck up or their parents have warned them away from Kaho. In an attempt to end a socially isolating, hurtful phase in her life, Kaho packs up and moves into a swanky boarding house in Tokyo, determined to start anew. Unfortunately, one of the first things she does is almost get hit by a truck. She's rescued by Kanade, a tall, gorgeous boy who asks her if her mother never taught her not to play in the street. She falls for him immediately, and is encouraged in her crush by her new housemate Chiaki. But when she asks Kanade out, he tells her that he'll only do it if she still likes him when she finds out the truth..that he's an exceptionally tall and mature looking fifth grader. When you look at it from a different perspective, four to five years of age difference isn't a big deal. Then you remember that Kanade is ten or eleven to Kaho's fifteen, and First Love Monster becomes a little harder to stomach, because at those ages, four to five years does make for a huge gap in maturity. Suddenly First Love Monster's comedy is overwhelmed by its creepy factor. There is no denying that mangaka Akira Hiyoshimaru (predominantly a writer of yaoi) wants this to be a comedy. The visual differences between Kaho and Kanade are amusing, with her being teeny-tiny and him being, to all appearances, a grown man dressed in elementary school outfits, such as a gym uniform, and his name and class embroidered on his underwear. Another denizen of the boarding house, Arashi, is an otaku with a fetish for cute boys dressed as girls, which gets played for laughs fairly well (he invites his girlfriend along on figurine photo shoots in the park), and the way Kanade talks is a fun mixture of childlike and more adult. The issue here is that the romance is played seriously, with Kaho, despite knowing deep down that this is not right, truly considering herself Kanade's girlfriend. She's so desperate for genuine affection that she can't get herself out of what she sees as a real relationship, and there's something disturbing about that. While the age gap is part of the issue, also upsetting is that Kaho is so emotionally needy and/or broken that she sees this unhealthy relationship as an answer to her problems. She knows it's not necessarily the right thing to do, but Kanade's childish gestures still charm her. The fact that Chiaki encourages the relationship is also troubling, and in fact one of the other tenants gives her grief about it, so there's a sense that the other characters also know that this isn't good. Kouta, a quiet boy Kaho's age who is clearly crushing on her, is the only one who seems likely to object, but he's so shy that he can't bring himself to. All of this adds up to a very uncomfortable read that the continued repetitions of the same basic joke – look, Kanade appears to be a teen but he's really in elementary school! – can't quite cover up.

Hey there, author here xD If you have any questions about the novel, you can leave reply here! 1. First, I must say that this is my first attempt to write and create a novel, my only experience in this regard is that I have read tons of novel. So please, if you have tips, send me. 2. The english language isn't my mother language, so if there are gramatical error or strange sentences, please let me know. 3. How often are you updating? Well, currently I work as a freelancer software engineer — I need to make a living xD, so I'll try to maintain at least 1 chapter per day. 4. What to expect? Comedy, dark scenes, heated enemies, ruined society, interesting worldbuilding and a unique cultivation system.

WRITING QUALITY: 5/5 The grammar is really good. The way that this was written was so easy to understand. No unnecessary expositions. Straight to the point just like how I like it. STABILITY OF UPDATES: 4/5 It's still too early to judge but I am giving 4/5 because I checked the table of contents and found that the first chap was uploaded a month ago while there are only 13 chaps. I'm not complaining because at the end of the day, I'd still prefer to read the book that updates only once a week but well-written than the other way around. (But I still prefer a well-written daily update.) STORY DEVELOPMENT: 5/5 No need to say anything. Read the first chapter and you'll know. CHARACTER DESIGN: 5/5 They have their own accent, baby! Need I say more? The interactions between characters are believable. Not cardboard cut outs. WORLD BACKGROUND: 5/5 I can visualize the place as I read. And there are no unnecessary expositions. PS. It was good but I just wished the paragraphs were a tad shorter though you can ignore this one. I just prefer shorter paragraphs. That's why.

I have ridden till ch 10 and from what I have ridden I can say that this story is pretty interesting and good. I liked the way how you describes the world and the characters. I also liked the MC as he is kinda op and cool and not dumb as in other novels. But I would like to say that you should work on world-building. Overall this novel is pretty good and intresting.

When I was reading this story I felt like I was reading a fairy tale (an enticing one I must say). The fighting scenes are very well written and the characters are likable. As a fellow author, I applaud you for that. You did a great job!

This is one of the best novels I've read. The beginning was beautiful, and it felt like I was reading poetry. I love the accents of the characters. The descriptions are well-made and offer insight to the events as if I were a spectator. Amazing!

The story has been good so far. The world building is great! I love how Javer character has a different kind of speaking (?) because he was from different region! it's a nice touch!

I love the start to this. The detail almost flows around you as it drags you under and into this world the author has created, like the rapids of a river. One thing I would say however is that it is slightly hard t understand sometimes when it comes to the dialogue.

I was really impressed while reading this story. The writing quality was good and there were no grammatical errors which shows how much effort the author put in this story. I won't say anything about the updating stability but I'll rate it as a 4 out of 5. The world building and the story development was nothing but amazing. In fact, I have no words. Even the characters interaction feel realistic to an exact. Overall, this is a good story. Keep up the good work author 👍

Wow, wow, wow!!! Coming into this, I did not expect the quality on display at all! It's insane and most definitely blew my mind away. Furthermore, each character has their own little quirk and is very likeable - a big sign that the Author knows what he's doing. The story has managed to hook me in, and I can't praise it more! 🔥

Just from the first three chapters, I can already assume that the novel is gonna be a blast to read! The most important aspect of any novel: the way it is written. All I can say about that is the fact that it is PERFECT! The way things are described, the way the text is written just flows perfectly, it is just perfect all the way! The characters are also very complex and good to understand! The other aspects of the novel are very well handled, it was just a fun read overall; I can't wait to read more of this later TL;DR Good novel, make sure to read it if you have time to spare!

Guys when I say the author is a master of crafting a scene with descriptive language, I truely do mean it. The world and characters are also just really well paced; not too fast for you to digest. This story reminds me a bit of berserk and frieren. Just a good vibe with well balanced action as well as slice of life dialogue banter moments. Keep it up author! Amazing work.

The beginning of the book was nothing less than poetry itself. Descriptive writing will force you to imagine things you have never thought about. Like a cherry on the top the grammar is perfect as well. Hope this reaches the target audience

First of all, I can confidently say that this is a story you won't regret reading. The writing quality improves after the chapters the author mentioned. The world is intriguing, and the events aren't rushed or overly complicated. When something happens, the author explains it in detail and consistently to avoid leaving any questions in our minds. Moreover, as you read, you can see that the author progresses in a planned, not random, manner. It's a great story, well done to the author!

Traveler's Will is very solidly written, especially once the chapters reach the 20s and over. The author's sense of pace is very deliberate with the details, and really makes you feel the situation in a granular sense. The main character, Asdras, is strongly crafted, and while there is a System, it's not front-and-center in a way that interferes with the enjoyment. (Though that does make it a little harder to wrap one's head around). There are a few word use issues that are more obtuse than incorrect, and narratively I did find the MC gets his hand held by the plot somewhat, with other characters pushing him along a lot at times. But overall it's a solid read and quite enjoyable! Definitely good potential.

This book has a very traditional book feel and has eloquent writing by the author. From the very first chapter to the very end, the writing has been flowy and very understandable with a poetic touch. The variety of language is commendable and the pace is very stable, not too fast and not too slow. I wish the author would update sooner but apart from that i have no complaints and can recommend the book wholeheartedly, as it's worth the while. The immersive plot and writing of the author, are like chefs kiss, and the ml is written beautifully.
