What In The World?!

I opened my eyes.

I saw a orange sky with statues building themselves along with a bridge building itself.

"Wow" I whispered.

I felt the wind against my face and it felt cool as if the snow was falling.

The first thought was if this was Narnia!

I then reached up to feel my eyelids to see if my mom and sister tricked me and put VR goggles on me.

Nothing, just skin.

"Ahhhh"! I screamed as I jumped in surprise. 'So this is real and crazy'! I thought.

[Hi player. you might be wondering, why are you here. Well, I don,t know to be honest. My brain tells me you are one of the chosen players, after you find your "sister", you can go back home]. 'What? I haven't even start playing yet to see if I was good or not! I want to go home.' I thought.

I did not answer. Instead, I just wanted to start the game already. Surprisingly it just started itself! 'Wow, it could tell my feelings!' I thought.

I pressed skip introduction as I already saw my sister do the introduction.

Click click-click, blah blah blah, so annoying the introduction. Nothing like a world of wonders! Monsters and bosses.

Oh, by the way, I named my name Axel.

"Wakey, wakey~" said a squeaky voice. I knew it was Paimon. She is a small flying person. She had a bronze halo floating over her head with white hair and black eyes. She wore a short white puffy medieval dress along with a black cloak with constellations on it. I sat up and looked around, I was on a beach with cliffs behind me.

"You said that to go back home, you need to find your sister, so Paimon will first take you the find the statues of the seven. Maybe we can find some clues." Paimon floated towards a path leading from the beach. A small red tower-like thing about the size of a adult women was at the entrance of the path.

"This is a teleport waypoint. These are scattered around Teyvat, which is the world we are in right now. Only travelers from different worlds can use these. After you touch one, the teleport waypoint activates and turns blue, then you'll be able to use it to teleport to other activated waypoints."

Curious, I touched the waypoint. Like Paimon said, the waypoint turned blue, and also started to float.

"Great! You can't use it now since you only activated one waypoint, so let's first go to the statue of seven at Starfell lake!" Paimon clapped her hands, floating further along the path.

I first followed Paimon to the first statue of the Seven. Along the way, I explored my memories and found some sword moves. I practiced them whenever I could. Paimon said to keep a eye on my stamina when I'm climbing, swimming, sprinting, or other various exercises. When my stamina ran out, I would feel powerless and weak, which would be bad if I was fighting or swimming, since I would die.

Soon, we arrived at a small lake with a statue of a hooded angel girl holding a ball in the middle, it was glowing red like the teleport waypoint from before.

"That, is a statue of the seven. Go touch it!" Paimon dragged me into the lake.

"Hey wait! I'll get wet!" Too late, I fell headfirst into the water.

"Paimooooon..." I complained.

She floated over my head, giggling. "Don't worry, in Teyvat, there are seven main elements, pyro, hydro, anemo, electro, dendro, cryo, and geo. Currently, you are in hydro elements. Getting wet means that you are affected by the element. After a while, the elemental effect will wear off, and you'll be dry again!"

"Wow, it's really like a game!" Relieved, I started to swim towards the land in the middle.

After arriving at the statue, I followed Paimon's instructions, touching it. Like the teleport waypoint, it started to glow. Feeling a surge of energy, I unconsciously raised my hand and gust of wind rushed out.

"Whoa! You, you used a elemental skill!" Paimon gasped in amazement.

"Was I not supposed to?" I asked. But before Paimon could answer, a voice sounded out.

A white window popped up before me.

The voice then disappeared.

I heard Paimon continue speaking. "Only people with visions can use elemental skills! Visions are jewls that are given to certain people by the seven gods who control a element. You don't have a vision but you used a elemental skill. Isn't that weird?"

'She doesn't seem to have noticed the voice, or the status window.' I thought, waving the status window away mentally. It disappeared.

"It's probably because I'm not from the world." I answered.

"Oh, ok then. Next, I'll take you to Monstadt! Follow me!" Paimon flew away as I ran after her.

"Roar!"

After a while, just as I saw a city wall, we both heard a roar coming from the sky. A light turquoise dragon with three pairs of butterfly like wings soared through the sky and into the forest.

"Whoa! Let's check that out!" Paimon pointed to where the dragon landed far away.

"Huh? But-"

"Ok, lead the way." I changed my words immediately.

"Yay! The dragon flew over to Whispering Woods." Paimon clapped her hands and flew back into the forest we just came out from.

We retraced our trail through the woods and after a while, we heard a voice.

"Shh, I'm here. Don't be afraid."

I hurriedly hid behind a tree, grabbing Paimon behind it too. I saw a short little boy with a green hat and cape. He had sky blue eyes with dark blue hair which was tied in two short braids next to his face.

"Whoa, he's talking to the dragon!" Paimon whispered.

Suddenly, the dragon roared. It seemed to have noticed us. The boy whipped his head around, "Who's there!"

He looked around then ran away. "Hey, what"! Paimon screamed.

We saw a red glowing gem that was floating where the dragon was standing.

"Whoa, check that out, a gem"! Paimon exclaimed, "let's keep it for now".

I saw my adventurer's rank on my status window turn into Lv 2. I had also leveled up to 2.

The bushes beside me rustled.

A girl in red appeared out of the bushes and did a somersault off a tiny cliff and landed with a little mud on her face.

"May the Anemo god protect you stranger" said the girl.

"I am Amber, Outrider for the knights of Favonius," Amber said. "You don't look like the Mondstadt citizens."

"Oh, we're just traveling!" said Paimon waving her hand.

"Hello, I'm Axel," I said.

"And this... mascot, what's the deal with it," Amber said.

"Emergency food" I answered. In the introduction, I did fish Paimon out of the lake.

"Hey! That's even worse than being a mascot"! Paimon pouted.

Amber had red headbands that were shaped like a bunny ear. She had red clothes. she also had long dark brown hair reaching to the elbows and orange and yellow eyes.

"Well, since it is my duty, I will take you to Monstadt. Follow me." Amber started walking towards the city walls.

[Ding! Quest Menu updated. New Quest: Go to Monstadt.]

I waved the window aside. "Let's go." I said to Paimon.

We followed Amber to Monstadt. Amber introduced us to a wind glider, which was a pair of wings that could allow a person to glide if there was wind. I got to try it out but as soon as I met Amber again, the dragon I saw in Whispering Woods appeared out of nowhere.

"ROOOAAAARRR" The dragon growled at us.

"Oh! Is this a way to greet new people in Mondstadt?" I said as the wind from the dragon's wings pushed me back while I tried to block it with my two arms.

"Axel, this is not the right situation to make jokes"! Paimon screamed.

"Ok, then what do you have Paimon you got a plan?" I screamed back at Paimon.

"No" Paimon whispers.

'Then we are fated to die!" I screamed.
