Chapter 1: Desire

"It's over, Amos. Did you seriously think you'd win with the help of Black lightning?"

I had no words. How was this possible? This man's plot armor truly does defy the heavens. I had literally spent the last century planning and scheming to create the Amos's foolproof mc divine destruction formation to kill him, and despite that, he still lived!?

Drained of all my energy and in total shock, all I could utter was a single word, "How?"

My lifelong enemy smiled mockingly at me and decided to entertain me. "It's simple; I had more desire than you."

Jesus Christ, not this bullcrap again. DESIRE? DESIRE MY ASS, YOU DEFINITELY FOUND SOME UNPARALLELED TRANSCENDENCE LEVEL TREASURE WITH YOUR BULLSHIT MAIN CHARACTER LUCK.

Not wanting to continue this pointless conversation anymore, I pulled out my sword and stabbed myself in the heart.

As the color started to drain from the world, I saw a shocked look from my nemesis.

I had just failed my fourth attempt at killing the main character of this shitty Xianxia world.

As a familiar darkness enveloped me, I saw a faintly translucent humanoid shape slowly start floating towards me. As it got closer, I already started dreading what it was going to say.

"You have failed to deliver me his head yet again. The next time you fail, I'll have to change our contract."

"You have to be kidding me. Do you seriously think I can kill that cockroach with only five attempts? That guy survived an attack that would have destroyed half of the entire world had I unleashed it outside my formation."

A sudden burst of light flashed through the darkness, and the entire world seemed to spin.

As the light faded, I slowly awoke from my stupor. My eyes slowly adjusted to my new setting while I looked around, trying to discern where I was. It didn't take long for me to figure out that I was currently in my old bedroom.

I had once again time-traveled back to the past for the fifth fucking time.
