Should Have Kept Shut (Ch.165)

Andronika adjusted her position so she was once again laying down on the bed and she turned on her side so her back was faced to Jalan.

It was a silent dismissal and Jalan knew that, he could not help the guilt that blossomed in his heart but Jalan was quick to squash it.

"I will leave you to rest then." Jalan said, getting up to his feet.

Andronika did not respond, she only hummed to acknowledge she heard his words and then nothing more.

Jalan's gaze lingered on Andronika for a moment longer before he turned and took his leave, pushing the doors apart and shutting them quietly.

Jalan mulled over Andronika's words as he walked down the hallway, her words were one thing but her tone was another thing entirely.

There was a deep exhaustion in her tone, much more than physical exhaustion, it sounded more to Jalan like she was mentally drained and tired of the world and life itself.
