The smile on Noah's lips remained even after Sharon had hung up on him. The reasons for the call were to let him know that even Laquisha was powerless against them and that they knew about witches and demons, something that they didn't know about before.
Of course, that also meant they knew that SCC was involved in the same things.
Noah could only imagine an ugly face for whoever their contact was. It wasn't hard to think of the witches of Satan reaching out to the organization. The secret organization wanted to make use of Bomberman's fame and controlling power; of course, the coven would agree to work with them. Now that Noah Rocco, the third seat of the organization, was one of them.
Did they count on Noah being so loyal and obedient to the organization?
Of course not.
Noah Rocco was a witch of Belphegor, and destroying the witches of Satan's coven was his master's goal. The witches of Satan knew that Noah could even abandon his friend Laquisha for this. That was the world of witches as they knew it.
Since Sharon hung up on him, he only resorted to texting her directly. "What time tonight?"
"Nine. Don't be late."
"I'm so thrilled to see you guys again."
He didn't care if Sharon would turn her nose up at him for his stupid reply, but he didn't expect her to even give something more stupid.
"Have the meat ready. I'm bringing the flowers and the candle. It's a dinner date!"
"(Heart eyes)"
If Sharon wanted to compete which one would be more of a cringe, it's a sport Noah didn't mind being competitive in. Laquisha had always let him win in the past.
After that, he received no more reply. His smile rose for a second and fell the next.
He tossed the phone to the side and tried to get some sleep. Unlike his hellhounds, he needed sleep more than food. Instead of eating dinner, he decided to sleep and did not even bother to set an alarm for the meeting with Sharon. Then again, after working with Sleepydog for a year, would she not know that he would often oversleep?
Truly living up to his name. Also, a reason why Simon hated him so badly.
His sleep was dreamless, but he felt a presence next to him so he woke up. When he opened his eyes, he moved his head and saw Luca's back. He seemed to be fiddling with something before he turned to see Noah awake.
"Noah!" Luca scooted back to get him in his normal view. The hunter then scratched his cheek before bowing a little. "I apologize for what happened earlier. I was being insensitive and narrow-sighted. I'm sorry."
"Do you normally do things like this?" Noah didn't get up and just referred to his smartwatch to find out that it was almost nine. He had to leave in a few minutes.
The witch then got up and looked around; he realized he couldn't change into anything now. His clothes were given by SCC, but it didn't mean he could have some in such a short while. Not to mention that he needed to shower as well.
"I figured I hurt you. I have to apologize." Luca repeated his stance before looking at the man who seemed to be collecting his jacket. "Are you leaving? I can fetch Rosanna."
"No need. Stay here with Rosanna. I have a date." Noah only smiled before opening the door. However, he stopped and spun to face Luca. He walked towards him and reached out to make off with Luca's hamburger. The smell had drifted to his nose too slowly.
Luca wanted to say that he ordered something for Noah, but the witch had already left. His eyes only flickered before he shrugged his shoulders.
He got up and took the other burger, soon realizing that he had bitten at some parts of the burger. Would Noah be okay with eating something Luca had already stuffed against his mouth?
…
Noah kept on stuffing the burger inside his mouth as he dashed from one corner to another. As soon as he got to their house, he had finished the burger and stripped to have a quick shower. After a few more minutes, he was already on his way to the meeting place.
Sharon didn't have to specify it because she knew he figured out where they were holding Laquisha earlier.
With his damp hair being dried by the wind as he went, the strands had been messy when he got there. His eight hellhounds had all hidden themselves very well while Caliga stood next to him.
He walked into the vicinity of the open park and until he reached the bridge area. He could feel presences from under the artificial lake, but he didn't want to destroy the bridge.
The park was so pretty in Noah's opinion. It was also serene now that it's very late at night. Some people were playing in some areas, but most people seemed to be discouraged to come to this scenic spot. For them to choose a public place…
Soon, a figure started walking across the bridge. Her excellent posture and exquisite shape showed under the lamps of the park bridge. Laquisha was wearing a face of defeat, but she was still holding her chin up high. At this point, she was still holding onto her top-grade witch tech rifle.
"Noah…" she called out his name, her hands tightening on her rifle, "I… don't know what to say. I don't want to apologize…"
"It's okay." Noah only smiled.
It wasn't that he didn't care if Laquisha betrayed him. It was solely because Laquisha was now directly under Mammon.
Like him, she was going to get preferential treatment from the demon and that Mephisto was also out there. If she was still allowed to carry on with this act, then it meant Mammon needed her to stay with the Shadow Hands.
As for why, that was what Noah didn't care about. He and Laquisha were only pawns to the demon princes; everything she did could be something she was not willing to do.
Laquisha only nodded as she acknowledged that Noah was not finding fault in her. She then lifted her rifle and aimed at Noah's forehead. "Whatever you plan to do, please keep this in mind. We are all expendable."
"I know."
The rifle quickly cocked, and Laquisha fired her bullet. Noah suddenly disappeared from his spot and showed up behind her, delivering a fan kick on her back.
Blood shot out of Laquisha's mouth as she was sent meters away before rolling along the ground. Noah's full force was not something anyone could receive without feeling their bodies jolted by it.
As soon as she flew away, two more figures appeared from the water. It was Sharon and Simon, going in for the kill. They needed Noah's head even if they didn't know why Mariz wanted it. Then again, it meant Bomberman's cooperation.
Sharon used her new guns out for a trial. These were witch tech guns that came from Mariz. It was a reward they got after bringing Noah to the witches of Satan.
She fired at Noah's direction, but the dog only moved to avoid every shot. When she landed on the ground, she entered close combat as Noah tried to knock her out first.
Along with her, Noah also had to deal with Simon who was a brute fighter. His knuckles were devastating for a normal human. These two were like witches already; even real witches would mistake them as ones if they just watched them fight.
Blow by blow, Simon tried to distract Noah to give Sharon a blind spot. However, Noah's specialty was speed. He would dodge left and right and even counter some of Sharon's attacks. As for countering Simon, Noah didn't bother.
Soon, Sharon decided to roll out of the fray and geared to go back to her guns. She then started charging them as stark black light channeled along the barrels. Simon, however, continued the attacks while coating his knuckles in yellow light. The light was a heat that could burn and cauterize.
"Haha! All you can do is dodge?! Is this really what you want to be remembered as?!" Simon laughed out as he felt the sudden enhancements of witch tech pills.
"I just don't think you're tough enough to receive my strength." Noah hummed as he continued to dodge. More and more, this was becoming more repetitive.
Soon, he felt heat pulsing from the side. When he turned, Sharon had already fired a beam produced by the two guns. Such small things could turn into a hand cannon?
Simon retreated after distracting Noah one last time. When he got out of the blast range, the beam was already at Noah.
Bang! An explosion was triggered as the beam disintegrated the object it hit.
It's just that… something lunged at Simon from the smoke.
Noah—with his blue hair tips, his blue eyes, and blue hand—just jumped at Simon. He quickly took Simon down with the force of the explosion and punched three holes through his abdomen.
Blood spurted from the wounds, and Noah even slammed the big man against the ground. Simon coughed out more blood and passed out then and there.
The witch didn't stop for a second. He hopped off the man, roughly pulling out his three claws and using the blood splatter to distract Sharon. When Sharon finished blinking, he was already swinging towards her.
However, Sharon was the first seat holder; this was not for nothing. She instantly fired at the floor and used the recoil to propel herself away from Noah's slash. After so, she rolled back to gain more distance.
No matter how fast Noah was, he would still need seconds to adjust his body after an attack. She then ran back while firing at the witch.
Noah only shielded his face with his clawed hand, letting the bullets hit him on the chest, abdomen, and legs. He didn't react to them at all.
"What?" Sharon twitched.
"I'm sorry. You should have talked to Nene about this." Noah then darted his glare straight at her. "The only reason why I'm third seat… is that because I don't want to stand out."
Boom! At the speed of sound, he dashed towards Sharon and slammed his arm against her abdomen, rupturing her organs and breaking her bones. Like Laquisha, she flew and tumbled like a rag doll on the ground.
Noah then looked at the bridge again. "So… which of you did Bomberman cry to?"
