Official Departure

Chapter 31: Official Departure

After returning to his mansion, Vis immediately went to meet with his mother. He knocked on the doors once, then her room unfolded before his eyes.

She had been reading more books and even seemed to guess some clues that might turn useful in the future.

And if those clues ended up wrong, then Celes would at least do something else other than sitting before the mirror and waiting for the emperor.

But after seeing the emperor himself, Vis felt like it was fine for him to have such a useless woman who would do anything for him. This air-head woman might be what helped the emperor in the past years, "Take this and hide it somewhere deep…"

"What is this?" Celes looked at the scraps with great interest as she could sense the energy despite being a weak woman herself.

She also felt a reaction of bloodline from her descendant! Her hands reached out for the scrap greedily, but Vis was the one who put it on her hand.

"It's an important resource that you will use from now on," After explaining what he had, Vis told Celes that he would soon get the official mission from the emperor himself.

It meant that he had to do some preparation for her, "I researched more of these armors, so these imprints should lessen the burden of energy even further… Pass this to the emperor's advisor… in a month and a half."

"Yes," Celes answered like a good servant. She had been hoarding her son's achievements so far, but her own work also brought some fruits to her life.

She felt better, more proud of herself, and even got an invitation to the empress' party. It meant that Celes got noticed by various people. All of those would gladly make some preparations as well in case she became useful or got the emperor's attention.

Vis just shrugged, "Have fun. As a pregnant woman, no one should pose threat to you." Her son even spoke favorably.

His words sounded like music to her ears, "I will have fun!" Celes happily shouted, then stood up to prepare some tea for her son.

Her progress and development had not been that great, but she was becoming a better person.

However, if Vis could use her, then he would certainly go for it, "If I somehow could take the royal descendant's bloodline for myself…" The royal descendant's bloodline purity was unknown as of now, but no one even checked it properly since it was Celes.

The past had already told people that no one should expect anything and the purity could still be seen on the birth's day anyway.

Vis thought of a way to steal it. He was doing it as punishment for what she had done to the former fifth, but he was also inadvertently doing this for her future.

If Celes got at least a mediocre second son, then she would revert to her old self. All her progress would be gone by then and Vis would probably hate her even more.

It was just theory, but it sounded so plausible Vis just decided to research it.

The necromancy wasn't just undead creatures. Of course, in his case, he had the ability to summon those, but each undead had its techniques.

His zombies could move their body parts after losing these and Vis also could take control over it.

So if there was an undead that could help him snatch the bloodline and make Celes have a miscarriage, then he would go for it.

"Someone has invaded the royal father's chamber..." Merthic M. Sedis had uttered to the emperor's advisor who was already within the emperor's chamber.

The old man next to him nodded and said, "I already had to write an official order for the fifth prince. His Majesty wants to send him to the border with the Kuyu Empire." His eyes then glanced at the silver scraps of silver skin.

The four piles were here and he was so ecstatic to see those that his old eyes let out bright and lively glitter.

Sedis, the crown prince, nodded and replied, "So it's Vis… From the recent rumors, I have heard he became a little different." He had long silver hair that lushly spilled out on his chest and back.

He didn't look like a savage, but the handsome prince charming nonetheless.

Sedis' words brought a response from the advisor, "He is still weak… I don't know what the emperor had seen in him, but you can't survive at the border with words alone. His fragile bravery can not be backed without sufficient strength."

The old man spoke harshly with his face distorted a little, then stepped forward to gather all those piles with his technique.

The future emperor didn't react much but stood as if lost in thoughts. Even before, Sedis didn't show much surprise about Vis. He then asked, "Exactly what border will he be sent to?" He wanted to know a lot!

-

"I didn't stay here for too long, but people know me here and I can't even be bothered to change their opinions of me," Vis spoke to Celes, then folded the official document to his pocket.

His mother just kept her eyes on him.

He continued then, "If it's meant to change, then it will change. I will be going now. Be careful of anyone and don't do anything stupid."

As if he was the emperor himself, Vis left these words then took his maid with himself to the border with the Kuyu Empire.

All this time, Celes didn't say anything.

Her son had been overwhelming ever since his return, but a lot of things changed as well. She couldn't bring herself to speak with him like a mother anymore, but looking back to the past, Celes certainly failed in her job as a mother.

This time, it was the official departure and everyone knew of it.

People didn't care much, but some shared the same question, "Won't he die?" This question wasn't asked by Celes, but she just clenched her dress while looking at the disappearing Vis and slightly narrowed her eyes.

No one could tell what she was thinking about.
