Bug?

[ Sam Heart, 20 Points ]

The testing screen turning dim, as the person who had taken the test slumped down onto the ground hoping no one noticed his... alluring score. With broad eyes dejected with this terrible outcome, he slowly turned around moving to a corner trying to not be noticed.

"You do realize that there are things like traps right...?" A voice had sounded as it was in disbelief.

Sams head rotating as if it had a few loos gears, his vision was able to picture out a slender figure with blonde hair. Breathing slowly and carefully, he started to make a slow pace towards the voice in blonde hair. "I believe there seems to be a misunderstanding between us brothers, is there not?"

Hearing such a respectful tone from the person who had tried to trap him in a deadlock, he once again felt shock go through this body. The man standing in front of him, was the first ranker in the endurance test, while also being a schemer. Now that Sam was acting respectfully towards him, he started laughing in his head second by second.

"I hope there really is NO misunderstanding, right Daniel?"

As reality struck him, using such a figure as a pawn would only bring him harm later on. To his realization, he began to leave the area swiftly. Denying the fact he had actually left due to not wanting to become another plaything.

Watching him leave, Sam had one less problem to think about as all for naught, another two people had come swiftly over to his position. Recognizing the two, he then again couldn't help but curse his horrid luck. They were both Walter and Soraya.

"W- Walter, what are you doing here? Thought you had a test to take right about now."

"You think too blindly, I just finished my test half an hour ago if you never noticed. Also, don't even try asking why she's here with me. She's just tagging along, I felt pity and kept her as a pet."

"That's- really something... Never knew you were into that kind of thing."

As the conversation took to a turn, Soraya had sent a fist towards Walter before her name would become known as some fetish freak. Not understanding what he had done, Walter could only bear the time as he flew a few meters from her punch.

"Let me introduce myself once more as you already might have heard about me. My name is Soraya Hollevine, sole daughter of Lucius Hollevine. It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Sam Heart."

No longer wondering why she had come along with Walter, he started acting friendly towards Soraya, as he saw how much of an impact his friend received from that one punch. Smiling, Sam had replied earnestly, "It's no big deal, I swear. It's a pleasure as well meeting a Hollevine here at the Ancestor Corp."

"You know her?" Walter had asked as he walked back with one leg.

"Oh so you do know about me?" Slightly more interest had emerged, as not everyone was well aware of her familial bloodline.

"My family had once used to meet with a few family members of yours back in the past. But after all, the past is the past, and we have forgotten about one another slowly. Except for the fact that you Hollevines will always be famous in the technological industry."

"Hmmm, I really don't seem to recall about anyone surnamed Heart. But if thats how you say it, I believe you. Only because you know about my family line."

"My family isn't of any relevance, do not worry." Sam shaking his head needlessly at the stagnant Soraya.

Ironically, just as the two had wrapped up their greetings to one another, a certain someone had started talking.

"So how was your test?" Walter had begun speaking after so long. "After all you were number 1 in the endurance part, so I do believe you would get a high score in this one as well."

"This, well how could I say it..."

"Yes?" Both of them listening, Sam couldn't help but feel more embarrassed.

"I- didn't know there would be traps so... I failed on the first round."

"What?! So what was your score?"

"20 Points." Sam had revealed proudly.

Walter and Soraya had just gained an enlightenment on the monster in front of them. Maybe monster was the wrong term for him now, it should be moron instead. Only people like them, would not be able to think of the possibility of traps in jungle warfare. Now, they were looking at one, as if they observed him as a unique discovery.

"Pfft, you really are indeed interesting, Sam!" Laughing aloud, Walter couldn't hold it in as he thought of the number 1 student who made an impact on everyone else as he acted like a baby with no brain.

"This is the first time I will agree with you Walter..." Soraya joining into the mix.

Seeing the two behave in such a way, all he could do was lower his head in embarrassment.

A few hours passed, as all the groups taking the test had finished. Sergeant Zhu once more making an appearance to come out and reveal the rankings amongst the students.

"All of you have performed well, and it seems I won't have to be disappointing in the future tests as well. I hope all of you could continue your valiant effort, and do your best in this test."

"Now then, to reveal the rankings!"

Feverishly, everyone had started to stare at the screen laid behind the Sergeant as it began to reveal Names one by one starting from last place.

"Yes!"

"Damn it, I'm so low."

Several students revealed different expressions as they saw their own names light up in the rankings.

The names of Soraya and Walter could be seen in the top 5 with all the rest. But there was one fact, that everyone was confused about. They all turned their heads staring at a smiling Sam who had waved his hands to the constant eyes. His name wasn't in any position in the Rankings!

Students began starting heated discussions to what Sam might have done to break the system once more. As the Sergeant had prepared for this turn of events, he had stated, "Everyone, Fellow Student Sam has caused an unaccountable achievement in the product we have provided for today's test. It was found out that he had fought his way, creating a bug in its entirety that began to disrupt his test and final grade. So he is now a special case, and will only get a score of passing for the sake of fairness."

"No wonder, I'm not surprised that monster found his way to something like a bug in this test."

"I know right, I wish he could just lay low for once and let us have the spotlight."

"Truly a monster."

Listening to the surroundings students, both Walter and Soraya had thought about the freak standing in the corner.

'More like a moron...'

"I hope everyone enjoyed the experience as well, as they tested the new technology given by the military. Now that the Tactics test has ended, let us move on!"
