Chapter 09  

Although Lubius could still feel the pressure of Verita's overwhelming amount of Eron. In the end he managed to discard the feeling of fear and was now more interested in other conversations. Either his adaptability was so great that like before he quickly accepted the fact that he was killed and transmigrated to a new world. 

Or Lubius had experienced things that were so out of the ordinary that he had gotten a little used to weird stuff very quickly. 

"Hm… Are you interested, Lubius with Labyrinth?" Verita asked a question. From the information she had gotten, Lubius was a man with an Eron capacity even lower than the average man. She also knew that in the past few months Lubius had been shutting himself away after what happened on the campus where he was studying. 

"Ah… Yeah, for a bit… I wonder what kind of Beast is the final boss in the Labyrinth? Is it the same as what I saw on the internet?" Lubius replied to Verita's question and asked her back. He took a breath and tried to compose himself, but so far this woman in front of him was the one who probably knew and experienced not only the labyrinth, but Eron itself the most. Verita's capacity was arguably many times that of his mother, Jamila. 

Lubius knew that this woman came from an enemy of his family and she could also know the person behind Lubius getting drugs. However, for now he felt it wouldn't hurt to ask the woman various questions. Because he also thought it might be good to talk about other things to warm up the interaction between them before he talked about the one thing he wanted. 

"Well, I don't think there is much difference between what happened in the labyrinth and the news you get from the internet." 

"So it's likely that the Beast who became the final boss in the labyrinth is a mutant and the like." 

"Yeah, in the end in the labyrinth what the beasts can do is very limited. So most of them eat each other. Until one beast becomes the strongest and is called the last boss in the maze. It's not unusual for each last boss to change if someone defeats it." Verita explained the workings of the final boss in the labyrinth to Lubius. 

"So are you saying that... those trailblazers didn't know what Beast they were about to face." 

"Ahaha, of course not, in the end the labyrinth is man-made. In order not to have a big problem and be able to cause a lawsuit. Of course, there is a surveillance device on the lowest floor so that the labyrinth management always knows what kind of Beast is the strongest on the ground floor. To make it easier for the trailblazers to start the journey to eradicate the Beast." 

"Ah… That makes sense." Lubius nodded as he finished one appetizer and then deftly handed Lubius and Verita the next appetizer. 

"However, as you said, almost one hundred percent of the last bosses in the labyrinth are always mutants." Verita spoke in agreement with what Lubius had said. Mutant was the term for a beast that had eaten so many other beasts that they had changed form far from the original animal of the beast. 

"The last boss I encountered was an ice-type turtle mutant. Something that can be said to be very favorable for me." She added. 

"Ah…" Lubius immediately realized that Verita had dark red hair. A thing that could be explained very easily, in a world full of Eron and almost a world that looked like animation, with various people having bright hair and various colors. It could be said that the hair color of the people in this world indicated the Eron they specialized in. 

In other words, Verita can be said to be very specialized with attack-type and fire-type skills. That doesn't mean she can't do other types of skills, but she's very well-suited to those two, something that was common with people with red hair in this world. 

"Are you perhaps interested in those beasts? I have a lot of data on them, something that would be hard to find on the internet, you know?" Verita asked Lubius. For Verita came from a rich, powerful and historic family. As Lubius suspected, Verita could be said to have met many men, especially many of her family acquaintances trying to introduce their sons to her. So did various other men hoping to make connections with their families. 

However, the reaction Verita got from Lubius was something new and refreshing. Usually most men were wary, scared and it was easy for her to see them being forced to meet her. 

Meanwhile, Verita already knew that Lubius came here because of Lucyanti's family. And unlike most families who accepted their requests, the Lubius family spent years delaying their son meeting the woman from the Lucyanti family. So even though she didn't think it would make any difference, Verita still felt hopeful that this young man who was five years her junior was a little different. 

'Ah… But he's such a disabled man, right? It's not like I will have any expectations. After all, I'm chosen to meet this young man because I'm the weakest among the women in the Lucyanti Family. They don't want to re-traumatize this young man after trying so hard to get this family to have their son meet a woman from my family.' Verita thought that right when she arrived at this restaurant. 

When Verita first saw Lubius, she was a little surprised by how formal the clothes were, and even though it was only for a moment, she could see that Lubius was distressed and giving off an expression of fear. It was something she had expected and was used to seeing. 

But what happened next was unexpected for Verita. It was a little awkward at first, but as she talked about her work, and then the conversation between the two of them got smoother and smoother. Even Verita couldn't help enjoying the small talk about the labyrinth and the Beast that this young man was asking about, especially unlike the other man who was just doing it as a small talk. 

Verita could see the excitement and sparkle in Lubius' eyes as he talked about the labyrinth and the Beast. Something that she never experienced before and she couldn't help to find this young man such a cute guy isn't it…

'It was quite enjoyable…' Verita thought while she already showed many Beast that became the last boss in the labyrinth. This was probably the fifth Beast they were talking about, on the dining table there was a device similar to and also the size of an Ipad that emitted an image like the holograms in a sci-fi movie. 

"So this is a Beast originated from a Lion with the fire type? Even if it has two heads in one body and one is a goat?" Lubius commented as he stared at the image of the Beast before him. He was surprised to see a device that was much more advanced than his previous life. 

Something Lubius felt he had never seen in his home since he moved into this world. Before he realized that it was because his house deliberately didn't use those items because of his existence. Because Lubius understood that the technology in this world depended on Eron. In other words, the family was limited in the devices they used. 

Lubius thinks they really sacrificed a lot. 

"Well, most of the time we sort them out based on our past knowledge, especially after we dissect them and see what the inside most resembles." 

"Hm, is that so… So animals can increase their Eron… Huh…" Lubius had read various things from the internet and the like. However, he had never directly asked people who knew about Eron and the like. Of course, Lubius knew that the answers he got might not be correct. However, there was no harm in asking. 

"Then what about humans? Is there any possibility for them to increase the amount of Eron capacity they have." Lubius asked Verita because he wanted to hear the answer directly from someone like Verita. 

"Increasing Eron's capacity… Huh…" Verita mumbled for a while and looked at Lubius carefully. She could see from Lubius's face that he was very serious, no… not just seriously, but more deeply… as if he was very determined. Such a strong gaze too… Something Verita rarely saw from men, especially when they talked about the maze, Eron and BEAST. 

"Well, that depends. Because if you want to increase the number of Eron capacities of someone of my caliber. That's practically something that's very difficult. You could say it's impossible unless there is a new breakthrough discovery. However, if it's for the capacities you have. I think it will be easier… But it's still difficult to do… Either because it takes time, money and also the possible impact of the additional capacity of Eron. Then, if it works, it has to keep the capacity afloat, which again requires determination and money." Verita explained that there was a way to increase Eron's capacity for people like Lubius, but she never told him the name of the method and only warned him of the impact it could have. 

"Is that so…" Lubius seemed to have guessed this when he checked the internet. After all, seeing that his family spoiled him in this world, if it was easy, his family would have done it already.

"Hm… aren't you curious?"

"Well, I'm very curious. But I'm already quite satisfied to hear that I can change the capacity I have." 

"Ah, that's too bad…" 

Lubius could sense that Verita was trying to make their conversation about this more intimate and if he asked and was interested in it. Before then she would offer it to him. Somehow it felt like a woman talked about a nice place, and the man talked about a beautiful vacation place… and they would go two alone together. 

"Ah, it looks like my most favorite main dish has arrived." Verita spoke in a tone that could be considered quite cheerful.

"Please try it... I'm sure you'll like it."
