He is so sure of it. so sure until he meets her brother, Lowell. The alpha of his pack. The man that everyone is afraid of. The man that looks at him like he is some kind of disease. Will always choose you

Colin

I pull away from him and my dad is quick to grab me away immediately. "I told you to stay away from them." He glares at me and I see that he is angry. I know what this looks like to him and I am okay with his anger, but I need him to remain on my side.

"I am sorry, Dad,'' I tell him remorsefully.

"You have some nerve. How dare you touch my son,'' he faces Lo, and I want to bring them apart. I know the kind of person Lo is, and I know he would not sugarcoat things. He would say what was on his mind and end up on the bad side with my father.

I want him to like him.

"I know, I apologise. Fuck, I am sorry. I just needed to see him,'' He runs his hands through his hair and I can't help but look at him with shock.

Okay, I guess he wants to be on his good side too.

"I know what has been going on between you, but I need you to take a step back from him. I need us to figure things out first. "

"I know, I will. I just don't want to lose him. I love him too much.''

The fact that Lo is telling my father all this is a shock to me. I never imagined I would hear those words from him, and now, he is letting other people know.

"Your sister loves him too."

He nods, "Yeah, things are pretty fucked right now, but I won't let him go. As long as he wants me, i will hold on to him."

My heart throbs at the assurance that he is giving me. The fact that the only thing stopping us is my wolf is what scares me. If I had to choose, I would choose my wolf. My wolf is a part of me and accepting it, is all that matters.

"Just take a step back for now. Do not complicate things."

He nods "Okay."

I watch them, they are talking as if I am not even here, and that is fine with me. The fact that they can have a conversation without fighting is more than okay to me.

"Can I say goodbye to him?'' he asks my dad.

I silently pray that he gives me the chance to say goodbye. We are leaving this place tomorrow, and I have been thinking about how I would survive not seeing him. I already miss him and he is next to me.

"Five minutes." He faces me as he lays it down.

I nod, and he walks away from us. I turn to Lo and he has a frown on his face. "Fuck that was harder than I thought it would be,'' he admits.

"He liked you, I think."

Lo scoffs as he comes closer to me, "He likes you. He would do anything for you, and I saw that in just a couple of minutes."

He smiles as he rests his forehead on mine. I close my eyes as his scent fills me in completely. "We should trust my dad, he is a superhero. He will fix this.''

"And what if fixing this means you have to choose her? He pulls away slightly, and I get a glimpse of his face. He's not angry and trying to hide it, but he is as concerned as I am about all of this,

"Do you trust what you feel?" I asked.

He nods, "More than anything. I will choose you over and over again."

I smile at the sweetness that is oozing out of him. "Then do not worry about anything."

I am a complete worrywart about everything, but I want to trust the goddess and know that things will align. It might all feel so wrong right now, but at the same time, I have one thing that I never had before... I have him.

*************************

I enter the house and dad is waiting for me "Why did you look for him, even when I told you not to?"'

"I am sorry."

He sighs "Do not apologize, own up to what you did."

"I didn't look for him, he came to see me."

"Yeah, I could see that. You know this is all unfair to the girl. You should think about her when you do things like that. What if she was the one that saw you?''

I haven't thought about Ashina all through this, and I think it is for the best.

"What did you do to my wolf?''

I had to keep him quiet for now. I know that you must feel weird but it is only until we get back to the community. I will fix this son.''

The support I have from my parents is unlike anything. I know that I can count on them for anything.

"Okay, dad."

He ruffles my hair with a smile "You are stronger than you think. I want you to remember that, always."

I want to believe his words but I don't know if they are true. He is my father, he would always see me differently. I know who I am but I don't even know if I am a good person. I should talk to Ashina, it is only fair I let her know the truth but I don't know how I could possibly do that without awakening my wolf.

I go to Tala's room and sit on her bed.

My phone beeps and I see a message from an unknown number.

Number: It's Lo. I know you said I should only reach out when I miss you but I miss you.

A stupid smile plasters on my face because this is the cutest thing ever.

I miss you too.

I send him a message back.

My phone rings immediately and his number blares up on my screen. I answer it, just as eagerly as the text.

"Don't hang up,'' he breathes into my ear.

"I wasn't going to.''

A sigh escapes his lips "You know, I have never wanted to have anything to do with other packs but for the first time in my life, I want yours to accept mine."

The shadow pack is popular for being on its own.

He is changing.

"I am glad you chose mine.''

There is silence for a couple of seconds before he replies "I will always choose you."
