Chapter 16

We got to the edge of the woods, and my brother went behind the tree. He shifts and comes back out with his clothes on. We stood there looking up at the sky, being silent for quite a while. I sigh and start slowly heading towards the house.

"Sis?" My brother says softly with worry.

I stopped and softly said "Hmm?"

"You, okay?" He asks.

"Yeah, I'm okay." I say shrugging my shoulders.

I soon felt two arms turn me around and pull me in a hug. "You're not okay, I know you miss mom and dad. I know it's going to be hard without them both here, but we got to stay strong for the babies."

I silently cry in his arms, all the tears that I've held back for those many days finally just came out. I felt lost and broken but at the same time loved.

"Let's go home bubba, I'm ready for bed." I say softly.
