Chapter 1.12: "Memories You can't Remember"

In the middle of a hot day. Andra and Enca sat on chairs in the shade of a large tree that stood in the middle of town. Directly behind them was a fountain, splashing water over the surrounding area.

"By the way, we've already bought all the items for the winter gear. What do we do next?" Andra asked curiously.

Enca explained that she would use the land magic as shown before. Only she was still too tired and the sunlight was scorching.

Andra understood Enca's feelings. Even his white shirt was covered with sweat. Especially since they had arrived in the city. Andra saw only a handful of people wearing long sleeves. Andra guessed that the temperature was probably close to fifty degrees.

Seeing the hot atmosphere like that. Andra imagined that there were usually naughty children playing in the fountain because they couldn't stand the scorching light.

Looking around, Andra noticed a significant difference in the clothing of commoners and nobles. Not far from a grocery store, Andra saw a girl standing in a full and beautiful ball gown. Andra couldn't understand why these nobles would willingly wear such revealing clothing on such a hot day.

Meanwhile, ordinary girls usually wore the same clothes as Enca in the summer. Whether it was an off-shoulder dress, a mini dress, a jumpsuit, or a slip dress.

Seeing all the modern clothes made Andra shake his head. Andra wondered to what extent the people from the another world had intervened to change the type of clothing that was so abnormal, because the atmosphere of the city was like being in the Middle Ages.

Andra slowly unbuttoned the top two buttons and tried to get some fresh air. Andra asked Enca about the height of summer.

"Well, the peak of summer is always like this. I feel like being lazy and soaking in the water," Enca said while repeatedly fanning her neck with her right hand, "Usually the beach is crowded with people. But because of the new rules. It seems like not everyone can go to the beach."

"It's sad, isn't it?"

Enca smiled mischievously, "Eh... Do you really want to see me in a swimsuit that badly?"

Andra immediately looked away because him words sounded ambiguous, then went back to trying to look normal, "That's not what I mean. In my world, if people can't spend time playing in the water at the beach. They usually look for other alternatives, like swimming in a lake near a waterfall or a swimming pool."

"I have swum in a lake near a waterfall. But a swimming pool? What's that?" she asked, tilting her head.

Andra narrowed his eyes. He was trying to think of the right answer to tell Enca. Turning his head, Andra found a simple shape to explain it.

"You know the shape of a hot spring, right?" Andra asked, explaining the shape with both hands, "Actually, the shape of a swimming pool is almost similar to a hot spring pool. It's just that the swimming pool has a different depth."

"I understand for a moment. But, do we stay naked?"

Andra chuckled, "No-no. It's not the same as a hot spring. You'll still be wearing a swimsuits. Well, think of it like swimming in the ocean. But on a smaller scale."

Enca nodded quickly. With a small smile, she admitted that she would like to build a swimming pool behind her teacher's house so that she could swim anytime during the summer.

The sun was slowly setting in the west. After a long rest. Enca cast her magic on the ground near the tree and put away all the things she had bought for the winter.

Looking at her land magic. It made Andra wonder about her ability. According to Andra, the land magic Enca used to send the goods home was something special.

Not yet, Enca returned to her seat. Suddenly she was hugged from behind by a girl with long black hair. Enca recognized the girl's voice.

"What are you doing here, Enca?" asked Llona and laid her head on Enca's shoulder.

Enca, who felt uncomfortable because of her sweat. She tried to let go of Llona's hug and looked at Andra who was watching them.

Seeing Enca's closeness made Andra close her eyes several times. Andra saw a girl with long black hair wearing a sleeveless shirt and a short black skirt.

"Are you the one named Andra?" asked the girl whom Enca called Llona.

Andra said yes, "Then who..."

She moved quickly. Llona looked closely into Andra's face. The sweat that slowly trickled down her cheeks was clearly visible to Andra. Andra immediately asked what Llona wanted.

"Do you really not remember anything?" asked Llona sharply, "Everything the three of us went through before? You really don't remember?"

Andra said yes. He didn't understand why Enca and Llona kept asking him about it. Talking about it all made Andra curious about the meaning of him past.

He remembered some things about the dream of entering a world that had never been seen. But that was just a handful of things. Andra had even met a white-haired girl whose face he couldn't even remember.

If this world was indeed the same as his dream. Andra wondered if he could meet the white-haired girl. Although Andra still didn't dare to ask Enca, who looked similar, this question.

"Like I said, Llona!" Enca called to Llona while puffing up her cheeks, "He doesn't remember anything. Even though this person saved us several times."

"Is that true?" asked Andra while scratching the back of his head, "It doesn't feel like me at all. Even I can't save myself."

For some reason, there was a gloomy atmosphere between the three of them. Llona immediately changed the subject to an ice cream shop that had just opened.

Llona invited Enca and Andra as a reunion of their meeting that had broken up some years ago. Enca agreed to Llona's invitation because the hot summer atmosphere made her throat dry.

Andra was quickly dragged along by Enca and Llona. He couldn't do anything either and followed them.

Enca smiled slightly, "It's unusual for you to be out of the kingdom. Don't the noble children have their own duties during the summer?"

Llona pouted and said that Enca didn't have to separate their friendship from caste. Llona actually disliked caste in a friendship that was supposed to be fun.

Llona looked slowly at Andra and asked him about his daily life in this new world. Of course Llona expected to hear good things.

Andra chuckled. He said that there were no good things in his daily life and it seemed boring.

"Well, I spend a lot of time in the library and meet a lot of people there," Andra went on to explain.

Llona narrowed her eyes, "Then you know the cold girl in the library?"

Andra shrugged. He didn't understand what Llona meant. Because all this time people had been nice to her.

Llona explained the characteristics of the cold girl in question. Short blond hair and glasses.

"Ah, you mean Nora?" Andra asked to confirm.

Llona held Andra's shoulders quickly, "Eh? Do you know? And do you look normal with her? Are you close to her?"

Andra was confused about what had happened. Then suddenly, not far from the three of them. Nora was seen looking at the bookshelves in the bookstore.

Llona quickly pulled Andra and Enca away from Nora. Andra asked what had happened to them.

With a small smile that sounded hesitant, Llona admitted that there was a small problem between the two of them. She was embarrassed to see his face right after the problem.
