Chapter 18 - Good Daughter

Lucas slowly closed the room door and headed down to the study.

Unlike most of the house, the study was fully equipped with shelves full of his documents, a couch, a chair and a desk, a computer, and lots of other things.

This was a house he had recently bought, he planned to move here with Lara after their wedding, hence why most of the house was still bare, his bedroom and study being the exceptions.

He walked towards the desk and opened up drawer. This drawer had a few things, but he ignored everything and fished for a cigarette box and a lighter.

He sat on the couch, which was facing the floor-to-ceiling window skillfully lit a cigarette, and sat there lost in thought, his expression going from bad to worse.

Sometime later, he put his hands into the box to take another cigarette only to realize that it was now empty; he looked down at the ashtray and realized that he had smoked an entire box.
