Author's POV
"He is good to go. Just get enough rest and no more getting into trouble." The nurse politely said as she faced both Daffodil and Lucian.
"Thank you for all your efforts," Daffodil replied with an appreciative smile.
"No need to thank me, I'm just doing my job." The nurse said walking out on the two siblings. Finally waiting for the door the slam shut, Daffodil swerved her attention to the young boy in front of her. Her gaze was with worry as her eyebrows were knitted. She gently placed her hands on her brother's shoulders before facing him seriously again.
"Why did you do it?" Her voice not wavering. Lucian only gave her a 'what do you mean look?'. She sighed agitated by his sudden response.
"You idiot. Do you seriously think you can turn back to humans? What is wrong with you? I get that you hate being a beast ever since our parents died but that doesn't call for taking someone that innocent. Lucian, both of us can't control ourselves, I know we kill even for the slightest reason but still..." Daffodil almost screamed at Lucian whose eyes lost their color.
"... I... " Lucian didn't know what to say. This was the first time he felt nervous to respond. He was lost and couldn't think of any reason to bail himself out of this mess.
"Are you trying to push others away from you? I do not want you to live a life filled with loneliness. Yes, the humans here are scared of us but lately, it became worse. Lucian, I want you to live a good life, not a bland one. You are the heir to the bloodline and not forming allies is a huge mistake."
"I never wanted to be prince anyway." Lucian angrily uttered. Daffodil showed no expression. She knew her sibling hated his position in the bloodline." It has been two years since they last heard from us. I'm sure they must have found out and done something about it."
"Did I come in at the wrong time?" Someone said carrying a tray of medical equipment. She heard the last statement he made as she froze in the spot to meet two beasts before her.
"Nothing at all Madison," Daffodil said before facing Lucian. Madison quickly dropped the things on the desk and left.
"Everything changed since we left home. Nothing was how it used to be. I knew that Albert was hiding something but..."
"What are you saying?"
"Surely, Albert was always persistent on making you heir to the throne. Ever since that night, he stopped encouraging you to follow that path."
"I never wanted to do any of that."
"Exactly, Father said Albert always wanted you to take over him when he hands his title to you. That night when Albert willingly permitted you to kill that blonde kid."
Lucian felt uncomfortable. He was not so happy that only his sister visited him always. She mentioned to him that they brought him here but haven't seen him since. Is it because of what happened or maybe because of his sister's intimidating aura?
"Well, I suppose you are okay now. Do whatever you want just don't make me worry. It is getting kind of infuriating. " she warned. Lucian only nodded following behind her as they both parted ways.
He began to ponder on what he would do now. He simply had nothing to do anyway but his mind then shifted to the earlier conversation. Albert was the one who offered him permission to kill ever since he got here. He was slowly giving in to his beast while Daffodil managed to control hers temporarily. What was his plan? He crossed his arms as he leaned against a tree outside.
His senses were dull, he thought because he felt something hard hit him. He gritted his teeth angrily before looking for what hit him only to see a ball. His eyes not leaving the ball as he bent to pick it up and at the same time, he saw another hand.
"Oh! Hello Lucian... Umm, I see that you are well now." Said the blonde lad with a nervous smile. Elvis scratched the back of his neck wondering whether he should collect the ball.
"Here." Lucian simply said tossing him the ball before turning and walking away. He felt bad about what he did that night.
"Thanks... Umm... My friends and I are playing football, would you like to..." Elvis said but was cut short.
"No thanks," Lucian said almost too quickly and walked away.
"Okay... But if you want to join we don't mind." Elvis announced making Lucian stop in his tracks. A simple ' hn ' was his response before walking away.
"Did I say anything wrong?" Elvis wandered back into the open.
"What took you so long?" Jin whined.
"Sorry. I was looking for where it went. I also bumped into someone on the way."
"Who might that be?" Jeffrey asked.
"Lucian." It became quiet as everyone was eager for his continuation." He gave the ball back."
"Ok. So hmmm... I know... " Jin muttered.
"What?" Jeffrey asked.
"Huh? Jeffrey, what is wrong with your hands?" Jim cautiously studied his palms. Jeffrey looked shocked but did not utter a word.
"There is some green liquid spreading there. Very visible."
Jeffrey knew that something strange was going up with him. He didn't want to worry anyone. Needless to say his friends. He was not going to let himself be considered as weak.
"You can tell us you know." Elvis plopped himself next to Jeffrey.
"I don't know what is wrong with me. I seem to cough..." It began again. An itch that was too unbearable in your throat. He began to gasp for air as Jin and Elvis gaped at his condition.
"Jeffrey!!" Both boys cried out as they ran close to his side. Jeffrey couldn't hold up anymore and allowed himself to be consumed by darkness.
