The Supreme Spy

Qin Yang grabbed his duffel bag and got off the taxi at a spot close to Jing Yang Shopping Mall. He couldn't help but show a helpless expression as he saw the rows of police cars that were blocking the entrance to the mall.

He had been on his way to the railway station in a taxi when a colleague stopped him and told him that there was a goldsmith robbery in Jing Yang Shopping Mall and that hostages had been taken. Qin Yang had been told to help out with the situation and ensure the safety of all the hostages. 

'These guys are just stupid.'

'Are they THAT desperate for money?'

Jing Yang Shopping Mall was a mall located downtown.

'Did these guys really think they could just easily rob a store and escape from there?'

Qin Yang's eyes glanced over at the policemen who were hiding behind the cars and aiming their pistols at the gate. His eyes then fell on the SWAT team, who was gathered in a circle while receiving their missions, and decided to walk toward them.

The on-site commander-in-charge tapped his finger on the floor plan and his eyes swept across the SWAT team in a serious manner.

"There are four robbers armed with homemade pistols, shotguns, and machetes. There are about twenty hostages inside, including both staff and customers and they are held in the northeast corner of the hall."

"This group of robbers are ruthless and violent. The negotiation has failed and it has pissed them off instead. Not long ago, they have already shot and injured one of the hostages and even announced that if we don't comply with their terms, they would kill one hostage after every 15 minutes!"

"Our plan now is to send someone in to deliver food and water while trying to get a better picture of the situation inside. The snipers are already in place. We will commence once they have reported back on the current situation. Be prepared for a sudden attack"

"Yes, Sir!"

After the commander assigned their tasks, he raised his head and the look in his eyes slightly changed as he saw Qin Yang who was standing behind the SWAT team.

"Who are you? How did you get in?"

The policemen who were concentrating on their tasks abruptly turned their heads and stared at Qin Yang with vigilance.

'Who's this guy?'

'When did he get behind us? How come we didn't notice him?'

Qin Yang looked away from the floor plan and smiled at the commander. He took out a black booklet from his pocket and tossed it towards him.

"You're sending someone in to deliver food and water right? I'll do it."

The commander took the black booklet with a doubtful expression but as soon as he opened it, his eyes suddenly lit up. He was even more shocked after seeing that it was a young man standing right in front of him.

"Colonel Qin!"

Initially, the SWAT team had a strange look in their eyes as they stared at this young man who had arrived without anyone noticing but as soon as they heard what the commander said, the looks in their eyes changed.

'Colonel!'

The young man looked like he was in his twenties with a casual black T-shirt, jeans, and sneakers. He also carried a duffel bag in his hand, making him look like a traveler instead.

'Colonel? He looked so young!'

'Is he joking?'

The SWAT team turned around and looked at the commander and managed to catch the blazing look in their commander's eyes. All of them subconsciously looked at the small, black booklet that was in the commander's hand.

'What kind of document could it be?'

The commander respectfully returned the booklet to Qin Yang. "I will have to trouble you then."

Qin Yang smiled. "You're welcome. I'll go and have a look."

Qin Yang put down his duffel bag and took the packed food from a policeman and started walking towards the mall.

The SWAT team looked at each other. 'Is he going in just like that?'

Qin Yang raised the packed food that was in his hand and turned around at the entrance according to the robber's request. After confirming that he had no weapons, he was allowed into the shop.

The hostages were all gathered at the corner of the hall and there were two robbers who were guarding them; one with a homemade pistol while the other was holding a machete. The remaining two robbers were holding onto shotguns and were staring outside nervously.

"Come here!"

One of the robbers behind the door who was holding a shotgun pulled Qin Yang towards him and pointed the shotgun at his chest while the other robber checked him up and down.

After reconfirming that he had no weapons, the robber who was frisking Qin Yang took the food from him and sneered, "Go!"

Qin Yang hadn't even made a single move when another robber stopped him. "This guy was sent by the police so he must be a policeman too. He must have come in to spy on our situation. We should keep him here. With him in here, we'll have more bargaining chips with the police."

"You're right!"

The robber who was holding the packed food grinned as he pushed Qin Yang's back with his shotgun. "Since you're already here, might as well stay. Get over there!"

Qin Yang looked calm as he obediently walked towards the hostages. The robber who was holding the pistol came over with a vicious look and reached for Qin Yang's clothes.

Qin Yang's calm eyes suddenly glinted icily. Then, he reached out and grabbed the robber's hand.

Crack!

The robber's palm was severely broken and bent over backward into a grotesque posture. The robber screamed out loud. At the same time, Qin Yang grabbed the shotgun from the robber who was behind him, pushed it aside, aimed at the robber who was next to him.

As he noticed Qin Yang's movements, the robber behind him subconsciously pulled the trigger and with the deafening gunshot, a blood-red stain appeared on the chest of the robber with the broken palm as he fell over.

Then, he slightly tugged the shotgun with his left hand and the shotgun fell into Qin Yang's hand. Instead of repositioning the shotgun to aim, he directly grabbed the barrel and pushed it backwards with his backhand. The shotgun hit the head of the robber who was behind him and the man immediately fainted and fell onto the ground like noodles.

Qin Yang rolled forward and grabbed the pistol from the ground. He aimed at the robber who was at the door and pulled the trigger without any hesitations.

The robber at the door was looking at the situation outside but he turned around when he heard the gunshot. Before he could raise his gun, he was shot continuously in the chest and slumped back against the wall.

The final robber raised his machete but before he could get any closer, Qin Yang had already turned the pistol and aimed it at his head.

The sound of footsteps filled the entire room as the SWAT team entered. As they saw the scene that was in front of them, their eyes were full of admiration as they stared at Qin Yang.

What a man!

Qin Yang handed the gun to one of the members of the SWAT team. Then, he turned around and left the shop without saying anything to the commander. He quietly left the mall with his duffel bag and got in a taxi amid all the chaos around him.

Qin Yang took out his cell phone and made a phone call to the number that has called him before this.

"Boss, I've solved the robbery case and all the hostages are safe."

"Well done, I knew you could do it."

"Don't compliment me; nothing good comes with your compliments. I'm going to Zhonghai now so don't look for me unless there's something important. No, wait, don't look for me even if there's something important. Give me a break for just two years! Find someone else to save the world. Bye!"

Qin Yang did not give the person on the other end the chance to reply. He immediately ended the call as the corner of his mouth was slightly raised.

'This old man always manages to fool the others but I won't give him the chance to fool me.'

The taxi stopped in front of the railway station. Qin Yang paid the fare and got out of the car with his duffel bag. He walked towards the entrance but stopped again after a few steps.

There were three men and a woman who was standing in front of him in a straight line, blocking his path and they were all staring at him.

The three men were around thirty years old and the woman seemed to be a little younger, about twenty-four or twenty-five years old. The men had sharp eyes and tough looks while the woman looked beautiful. Although all of them wore casual clothes, they still couldn't hide their charisma that stood out from the crowd.

The four of them looked at Qin Yang with their eyes burning and shouted together, "Boss!"

Qin Yang stopped and smiled bitterly,"Didn't I tell you guys not to send me off? Why are you guys here?"
