The Stardust Girl

As a child, Zini never imagined anything great for herself. As a matter of fact, she felt she was doomed to never achieve anything. Some would think being royalty meant that anything she wanted could become a reality. Here's the thing... Zini was born into a society that looked down upon those without superpowers. Those that did have them easily made all their dreams come true. Fame and fortune was theirs. Her race was known as the Anomaly. This race, long extinct since the end of PowerLand's ancient era, was known for being the most arrogant and ruthless of all on the planet. For Zini, misfortune came to her at the Age of Discovery, when most Anomaly youths developed one or more powers. She, unfortunately, didn't have any. Yet what she didn't know that one day that would soon change. With the powers she gained later in life, Zini would use them to help those oppressed by her parents' evil regime and end the war against their once allies, the Nexus and their supporters. To achieve her maximum potential, Zini must not only conquer the evil that plagues her world but also the one within—a turbulent past she feels is inescapable.

No longer a Normie!

Early in the morning, Mackie, Kita, and Andrew II rose to formulate a battle plan against Caprice. With Glen's newfound abilities and Zeno Anomaly now gone, the allied forces had chance to end King Don and Queen Crystal's reign once and for all.

"My father let me create FireFang as a team under my command when he was alive." Andrew reminisced about his old team.

"But what did you accomplish?" the Dragoran Captain sneered. He had something else condescending to say but didn't. It was perceived that Zini erased it from his mind.

"It was unofficial then until I mean a few friends that helped us get farther than we ever did." Andrew answered.

He looked at Kita and then to Mackie for a brief pause before turning his eyes back to the crowd.

"We are FireFang!" Andrew chanted. He then explained that the team was currently inactive after the destruction of Dragora and Destiny.

"Who is FireFang now?" Zini wondered aloud.

Andrew looked around the room and pointed first to Kita, then Mackie, Glen, Zini and Celes.

"We are FireFang!" Kita and Mackie chanted happily in unison, followed by Celes, Glen, and Zini on the second time.

Soon, it was time for Zini to settle scores with her father. It was necessary if peace was going to reign supreme. She went prepared; no space for slip-ups; she had to win.

"Finally, we'll get our revenge!" Star reveled at the thought of picking up where she left off that many years ago.

As FireFang neared the city, they set their plan in motion to sneak in but found a surprise situation.

"It's all-out war!" Zini scanned the minds of the Anomaly on the outskirts of the city. The usual city guards weren't there. Her mother called them to stop the insurgents from reaching the castle.

Zini believed the Lawrenites never stopped fighting since the death of their fearless leader years ago. Mental chatter suggested Maryna's father joined the rebellion and rose to becoming their new leader a few years ago. He resented the Anomaly Royal Family for what they did to his wife and daughter. Her death just sparked a fire within him that King and Queen Anomaly couldn't extinguish. The Royal sympathizers called him Mad Lynx and his wrath against the Anomaly Royal Family up until the regime's final days.

This situation created by the Lawrenites allowed FireFang to enter Caprice unnoticed for a little while.

"You created this situation!" Zini heard her mother's voice in her mind.

"Actually, your tyranny did!" Star countered sarcastically.

Suddenly, Crystal appeared before them, but Celes stepped in front of the group.

"Ah, the Dreamer!" Crystal had an evil smile on her face. She long wanted to fight the one from whom she was cloned.

"When I'm done with you, the rest will join ya in everlasting darkness!" Crystal threatened. She tried to prevent FireFang from getting past her while fighting Celes but soon realized it was an uphill battle.

Andrew, Kita, and Mackie fought their way into the castle while Zini continued through the halls, making her way to the throne room. Some of the soldiers she encountered remembered her assassination attempt on the King years ago.

"Oh look, the Fallen Princess returns!" Some of them jeered.

"You couldn't hurt me then, what makes you think you can hurt me now?" Zini confidently spoke. Some turned tail and ran after hearing her words while others didn't. These were the foolish ones that had vendetta against her since the beginning. They were the last of her father's butt kissing lackeys. Yet among this group were those who thought more about their duty to protect the King with their lives. Doing so against the one whom they knew as the Stardust Dragon most likely meant their deaths. Zini felt no remorse as she dispatched all of them before walking into the throne room. The blood of those guards stained her diamond glistened armor.

Sitting on the throne was her father, waiting for her. After all these years, the chance to make things right presented itself.

"Why, daddy?" Zini cried, trying to persuade him to see things her way.

"I wanted to teach you a lesson!" Don started.

"Which was?" Zini felt confused at hearing his words.

"The exile wasn't my idea." Don continued. "You were born a Normie and your transformation made you an ugly one at that."

"BUT WE'RE YOUR DAUGHTER!" Star yelled; tears streamed from her face at his insult.

"Crystal did tell me that there were two of you in there, and that the way I treated you created her." Don sounded remorseful. His feelings were deep regret but Star felt something sinister about it-Like it wasn't genuine. "If it is her I'm talking to, it was for your own good."

"NONE OF MY EXILEMENT WAS FOR MY OWN GOOD!" Star roared. The room started rumbling.

Don launched his spear at her, trying to break her concentration. The spear stopped inches from her nose and began to disintegrate.

At seeing his futile attempt to hurt her, Star let out a menacing laugh before declaring, "Welcome to the Dragon's Den, don't expect to win!"

At that moment, Don tried to run but found himself unable to do so. Pieces from the floor began to rise and gather around Star as she glowed brightly with a pulsating rhythm. His body rose and was pulled toward her along with the debris around him.

"BOOM!" Star cackled. Within seconds, her father and all the debris around her disintegrated. The wave that preceded the blast destroyed the entire castle.

Glen used his super-speed to get Andrew and the others away to safety while all the soldiers around them were at the mercy of Zini's wave of death. Outside, the blast went on for another half mile, destroying buildings and incinerated everything biological it touched. Finally the wave stopped before reaching the battle where Crystal and Celes fought. The earthquake interrupted the battle. Crystal looked to the ruins of the castle in horror. Inside, Zini came out of the rubble unscathed because of her dragon-like skin and healing factor. She shrugged off the debris and pieces of the collapse building that once buried her like it was nothing. The lady made ways to her friends who were a little ways ahead of her, safe from the blast radius.

As Zini put the finishing blow on her husband, Crystal felt his life force fade to nothing after she heard him say, "I love you."

That was when she realized that her husband had died. Crystal lost the will to fight and escaped her battle against Celes. Yet, the avatar fighting her place was drastically weaker and her opponent could tell. Celes knew her evil twin used her avatar as a distraction but she didn't bother to chase after her.

"She knows her reign has come to an end." Celes thought aloud.

The remaining Anomaly soldiers left behind fought to the bitter end. The Lawrenites saw the change of events and came out of hiding to cut off their enemies' escape routes. With war now tipped in favor of the allied powers, all traces of the evil tyrants' supporters were extinguished. The war was finally over.
