CHAPTER ONE

King Raleigh, the ruler of the south was holding a meeting with the kingdom's council of advisors to discuss matters affecting them and know how to address and ensure the smooth running of the kingdom, when his royal spy barged into the court unannounced.

All the Royal councils turned their head curiously to stare at the royal spy who ran straight to bow in front of the king.

"What is it , Bennett? What is so urgent that you had to barge into my meeting with the royal councils unpermitted an unannounced?" King Raleigh asked squinting his eyes angrily.

"My King, i tender my apologies for barging in unannounced and I beseech thee to have mercy on your royal spy" Bennett said .

King Raleigh turned to share a look with his royal councils who nodded their heads to him, indicating that they have given their consent for him to speak.

" You can arise," King Raleigh said gesturing with his hand "tell me, what news bring you thee to thy royal king."

Bennett scrambled up on his feet, he lowered his head in respect to his king "While carrying out one of my duty on the field, I overheard the king of the West planning with his royal councils on how to overthrow the king of the North."

"And how does he plan on doing so?" The prime minister asked while the king rubbed his hand on his lips thoughtfully."everyone knows how very powerful the king of the North is."

Everyone in the throne room nodded their heads in agreement. There were four ruling kingdoms in the country, and the king of the North is the most powerful.

Bennett raised his head to stare in the direction of the prime minister "By assassination."

"It is common knowledge that conspiring to assassinate the king is what every neighbouring kingdom does." Marshall of the field said in a mocking tone.

"Hmm, Marshall of the field is right ." King Raleigh said , leaning back on his throne .

"I agree with you my King," Bennett said hurriedly " but..."

King Raleigh raised his hand up to stop him " But nothing, Bennett. I thought you wise to have thought better before barging in on my important meeting with the royal councils. But you Bennett have gone against..."

Bennet quickly threw himself down in front of the king "My king, remember the constitution governing the four Kingdoms in Magnot ? The Constitutionality Protection law, under "Articles 2" of section 4, of the constitution of Magnot !"

All the Royal advisors turned a confused eye to the Solicitor - General, including the king.

"Solicitor - General Brook." King Raleigh called out to the Solicitor who was sitting close to the prime minister.

"Your Majesty ," Solicitor - General Brook spoke from his seat " it is one of the oldest law made , when Magnot was first created."

The King straightened up on his seat , becoming very interested " Hmm. Go on, what does the rule of law says?"

"The Constitutionality of protection under "Articles 2" of section 4, of the Constitution of Magnot, states ," Solicitor - General Brook brought out a big file from his bag, he wore his glasses after cleaning it and read out from the constitution book "And I quote "No King or Kingdom, be ye invited or be ye an invitee, shall attend or lure thy neighbouring Kingdom to a social function with the intention of laying siege or starting a war within that Kingdom where the function is being held."

The throne room became silent. King Raleigh leaned back on his throne, a thoughtful look on his face. "Secretary Hardin."

"Your Majesty." Secretary Hardin replied .

"Have a look at the invitation cards of every social function I have been invited to, " King Raleigh turned to stare at his secretary."I need to see if I have received an invitation from the West and South King."

"Yes, your Majesty," Secretary Hardin leaved through his account book immediately " There is a social function coming up on the 26 of this month, in the North. The king of the North would be holding a social function to mark is fiftieth birthday and the return of his son from the military training."

"What !" One of the Royal advisor screamed out in anger " This is violation of the constitution !"

A great argument erupted in the court room. The King stared off into the distance, a worried look on his face. He was not close to the king of the North but allowing the King of the West to lay siege against the North, would be given him power to rule the four Kingdom.

"Your Majesty ," Prime Minister Warner spoke up "We cannot allow the King of the west to carryout his evil plans."

"What do you suggest, Prime Minister Warner?" King Raleigh asked " Let's not forget the North and the west are close friends. We cannot just approach the King of the North with this information in our hands. Who is to say, If he would believe us."

"His Majesty is very right." Carleton, a tall bald headed man who is the marshal of the field said with the gruff voice."I will suggest we plant a secret agent in the North, a week to the function. No one knows when the West will strike during this period."

"I agree with with you, Mr Carleton ," Prime minister warner said " since there is going to be a social function , the North is likely to start receiving guest a week or two weeks to the time."

King Raleigh who have been watching them talk all this while in silence adjusted himself comfortably on the throne seat " Whom do you suggest we plant in the North , Field Marshal Carleton ?" The King asked knowing the answer already.

"Obviously, not a male, Your Majesty" Field Marshal Carleton replied "we need to plant a female agent in the North. Someone who is skilled in Martial art and also knows how to wield the weapon well very well."

King Raleigh leaned on his hand, placed on the arm of the chair. He eyes the Field Marshall with Interest.

"Any reason why we shouldn't consider planting male agent, Marshal?" King Raleigh asked.

"Your Majesty , planting our male agent will attract suspicion and unnecessary attention . Females are best suited for this job. The less conspicuous, the better." Field Marshal Carleton replied.

"Do we all agree with, Field Marshal Carleton?" King Raleigh asked.

All the Royal advisors nodded their heads in agreement.

"Do we have anyone in the North who is very qualified and have all these qualities you speak of?" King Raleigh asked leaning back.

"Yes, your Majesty" The Field marshal said.

"Who?" King Raleigh asked.

"Princess Violet."

The king Startled and jumped up from his throne with a frown "No !" He exclaimed .

The royal advisors threw a nervous look at the field marshal and at the king.

"Yes, your Majesty ," The field Marshal Insisted " to save the south from the west, then we have to take extreme measures."
