The Drowned Daughter

"You can wait here!" one of the women commanded us, a purple skinned, bug eyed specimen wearing a dress made of scales, it was red in colour, it matched the murderous glint in her eyes, she sooner kill us, rob us and dump our bodies in the river, at least that's the vibe I'm getting from her. I don't know why Barney brought us here, and honestly I'm starting to get nervous a bit!

"Wahahaha! she must be in a good mood today!" Barney cheered, "why do you say that?" I asked, "The fact that she gave us the GOOD cell to wait in" Pedro said. Good cell? I look around and fail to see what's so good about this place.

Honestly this place stinks! the wall is made up of old rusted metal, the space is non existent, the three of us kept bumping into each other every time we moved and worse " Ah, the former tenant left us a gift!" Barney bellowed, laughing at the foul sight of our restroom.

"Hmmmm" ..... "Hmmmmmmm" ..... "Hmmmmmmmmmm" "What!? what is it Barney!?" I shouted, why is he making that stupid noise!? "No .... it's just, I need to pee...." "Yes you can go there!" I said pointing at the bucket, "No... I can't while you're looking!" he protested, "Be reasonable, there's no way to turn" Pedro shot back. "But-" "No buts, you go or you don't"

He grumbled, protested so more and finally decided to torture us with his singing! we gave up and allowed him to have his way "ahhhhhhh, that's so much better!" Barney bellowed, "The worse us even worse now!" I cried.

"..... eh Pedro?"

"Yes?" "is everything okay?" "Yes" "A-ah.... ehm, could you face somewhere else?" "..... There's no where else to face" "O-oh silly me hahaha!" it doesn't help that he has that deadpan expression on at all! I sigh in my mind. "Pff!" Barney is laughing.... are they doing this on purpose? I look at Pedro.... he smirks at me, they're totally doing this on Purpose!

"would you-" "Ah that reminds me!" Barney cuts my rant off, "How good is your swimming?" "..... it's pretty okay?" "Just okay?" "Well... I'm not an Olympic swimmer" "What's an Olympic swimmer? you're pretty strange kid.... anyways you better be able to entertain Sammie, else she's going to feed us to the sweet water serpent"

Is he serious? "are you serious?" "Yep" "Why!?" "it gets boring around here sometimes, so you gets excited playing these games, you understand don't you?" I don't, I don't understand, I don't understand at all! wait maybe it's not that bad, may- " Ah by the way make sure you dodge the traps! Mines , fish nets , spikes, all that stuff, especially mines! she loves using those!"

I give him deadpan expression "Yeah...." I say in a monotone voice, "Look Cas jnr, the Drowned daughter is a lot of things, she's sadistic, cruel brass-" Barney said, he keeps listing this scary things about her, is this supposed to be a pep talk? Barney.... you're doing a bad job I'm just getting more scared! "But she's also fair!" "Fair?" fair how? "Yes she's fair, she's going to make you play her games but she give a reward, it's pretty worthwhile!"

Honestly I'm not excited about anything he said so far, it's the opposite infact, my track record with women in this world so far sucks! Cece! I hope you're doing better! "It's time! Get out!" The lady from earlier, opens our cell and order us out. She scrunched up her face briefly before yelling at us to hurry up! "what the hell!" I shouted as she flogged my back with a big stick! seriously why are people here too violent!

She leads us to a long dark hallway, everytime we passed an open door, we were greeted with the sounds of screaming, gurgling and cursing, Torture? I don't care so far as it's not going to happen to us! we finally reach our destination, it's a huge wooden door. It has intricate carvings on it , Serpents, Whales and Dolphins and Sharks, they were fighting each other, " Bogmen love their carvings" Pedro muttered.

The Massive Door swung open, another Purple woman was standing inside the room, just like the others women so far, she wore a dress made of scales, a fashion choice around here? Her's was green in colour, She had a kinder look in her eyes, almost pity "The Drowned daughter will see you now" she said, we entered the room.

The room was.... beautiful, it was filled with statues of women striking different battle stances. Some wore heavy Armour, others light, some held frog spears and capture nets, others held simple daggers or short swords. The statues looked like they were made of Glass? They were arranged to be perpendicular to each other, the person who designed this room must have had quite the eye.

"Move! now!" our Jailer yelled, we marched deeper into the room, each time we passed a statue more intricate than the last finally we reached the end of the room, there were no statues here, just a huge pool of water.It looked murky and dirty. I gulped audibly when we see it. Barney puts a reassuring hand on my Shoulder and gives me a thumbs up I try to put up a brave smile. I look to Pedro too for reassurance.

He shrugs his shoulder "Don't worry when you get seriously wounded, I'll patch you right up!" he said, I didn't like that, I didn't like that at all! we reach the edge of the water now. There's a figure standing there. It was a woman, she wore a Scale dress like every other woman here, but her's was more stark white in colour, it was almost dazzling, it had a serpent insignia on it's back.

She turned around, it was Sammie, the lady that ordered our arrest, she seems to be the top dog around here. "Fatewalker, Dreadsleeper" she said in a monotone voice to Barney and Pedro, she gave them a curt nod before laying her eyes on me, they were cold and unwelcoming. She sized me up, almost measuring my Value, there was silence in the room, it was almost deafening. Finally she snapped her fingers, Five women lept from the water in front of us!

Sammie points a finger at me, "Strip him!" she said cooly.
