03. The aftermath

Back at the Light mansion, after Crystal left;

Jeffery pov:

My name is Jeffery Light, the heir of the Light dukedom and the first son and the heir of the Light Dukedom. 

I was away since I was 8 to study abroad. Now I'm going back to the Light mansion in the capital of Alfear.

I have a younger adopted sister named, Crystal Light. To be honest I don't like her very much.

I mean who will when one day your parents brought in a child from the street to be your sister.

They actually brought her in because the Light family has no lady. After my birth my mother has become infertility.

Meaning she can't have a child anymore. So my parents brought her in. I don't know much about her.

The year she came into our household was the same year that I went abroad to study. I haven't seen her in 3 years.

While I was still home. I hated her because she was someone from unknown origin. So I thought she didn'the denser very the family name.

I learn a lot when I was away to study. I don't like her but when I was abroad I kinda miss her?

So I asked my friends and they said that it was a sign that I care for her more than I think.

When I observe myself it was true. I really miss her. I also told my mother about it and my mother said it was natural.

I used to ignore her presence like air before. The whole mansion does except for my mother but I'm gonna change it when I got back.

I promised myself that I will make it up to her. I decided to change into a very doting brother for my sister and take care of her with all my heart and be the best brother for her.

I will also keep her away from those wolves. I came back extra early to surprise her. I can't wait to see her.

To be honest the carriage ride feels longer than usual. I was getting very impatient. I even brought her flowers.

After what it seem like days I finally reach the mansion. The butler and the maids came to welcome back my mother and me.

Our father also came to greet us. I greet him and then I went straight to my sister's bedroom.

I asked the servants and they said that my sister hasn't came out of her room yet.

I guess she is still sleeping. So cute. I went into her room quietly. I approach her bed slowly.

Then I gently pull down the blanket only to be meet by a strange sight. My sister was not in bed but the servants said that she was.

I turn to the servants to saw them panicking as well. It seem that they don't know where is is either.

"Search the room." I order the servants to search her room. She was no where to be found.

Then I order the servants to search the whole house as I want to father's office to report about this matter.

I told my father what happen. His face stiffen a little before he started thinking.

Guess he doesn't know anything either. Then by putting two and two together everything become very clear.

I hope that what I thought was not true. After a few minutes a servant came to inform us.

"My Lords the young miss was no where to be found in the whole mansion." I begin to get very anxious as I turn to my father.

I saw his cold face broke and turn into a very complicated face. "Sent out knights to search the whole kingdom.

Bring her back no matter what. I will not accept this." His aide bow as he went out to deliver the orders to the knights.

"Go back to your room and rest for now. Don't worry about this. I will take care of this matter."

My father said after his aide left. I didn't argue any further as I just bow and went back to my room.

When I got to my room I dismiss all the servants as I plop down on my bed.

I feel like I don't have any energy anymore. I was so exhausted. I was feeling so much emotions.

Worried, anxious, angry, sad, regret I was feeling all those emotions at the same time. Even so I can't do anything but to just wait.

Three days later;

Three days has past there's still no sign of Crystal. Even though I look calm and emotionless on the outside my head was filled with many thoughts.

Father sent words to the king yesterday and the king sent men all across the kingdom but still no luck. I was sitting in my study and drinking tea.

I look out of the window. "Where are you Crystal? Please come back. I miss you.

When you came back I promised I will be the best big brother ever.." I whisper softly.

Two days after Crystal's escape

Louise pov:

My name is Louise Cyber. I'm the crown prince of this kingdom, Alfear. Since I was the only child of the king and queen I was given everything I desire since birth.

My parents also love me very much and never pressure me or make me do something I don't want to do until that day.

That day my parents made me get engage to the adopted daughter of Duke Light.

She was cute, smart and perfect but she is adopted. We don't even know she is novel's blood or not.

From what I heard the Duke and the Duchess just pick her up in a forest. A freaking forest. We don't know her origins.

She might be a commoner or even worst I runaway slave. She lost her memories so no one knew who she was.

And my parents made me get engage to that 'thing'. That 'thing' is also very clingy and annoying.

I latterly hate her to the core. I wish she would just go die in a ditch. She is also bratty and she bully people.

Today my father suddenly called me to his office. I went in and saw him holding a letter while order his aide something.

After he gave orders he turn to me with a sad expression. I got worried for a bit. "Father is something wrong?"

I asked him as he sigh and said "Son it seem that the young lady of the Light dukedom has disappeared two days ago."

I suddenly feels weird when I heard my father's words. Of course as a prince I didn't show my facial expression.

I just nodded as I excuse myself. I went back to my room and close the door.

Once the door was closed I felt a hot liquid rolling down my cheeks. I was ....crying? I can't believe myself I always wanted her out of my life and disappear but now that she is really gone it feel strange.

Plus I was crying? This is weird. I feel weird. I just feel like I was just want to cried out loud.

I can't just stop crying. Tears just won't stop no matter what I was do. So I just give up and let my tears flow.

I hug my knees and form a ball in order to comfort myself. Then reality hit me like a bitch. I like Crystal and I miss her.

Even though she was clingy and annoying and even if she came from an unknown origin, she was someone who treat me like a person not a prince.

"So I really do miss her don't I?" I whisper softly as I cried again. I cried myself to sleep that night.

'I have to find her. I have to bring her back. No, I will find her and bring her back.'

I thought as I keep crying.

Present time. With Crystal;

"So let me get this straight you are the headmaster of Warlock, Tim Owen and you want me to become one of your apprentice and study at Warlock. If not you will report me to the knights."

I asked as Tim nodded. 'This sneaky old hag. Well his offer is quite nice but wouldn't the heronie will be at Warlock too.

Maybe it will change. I mean I didn't bully her so she won't go to Warlock.'

I thought as I accept his offer. "I will gladly accept this offer." His face brighten up.

"I look forward to teaching you from today onwards my apprentice." "Thank you for accepting me master"

I bow a little. He patted my head which is like a sign that he accept me as his apprentice.

"Then shall we go now." Tim hold out a hand. I smile at him and said "Of course master."

Then he created and giant magic circle beneath us as we disappear into thin air.
